Not easy then. I've heard of brittle bones but not about the blue tinge.
Did you know from any early age she had it?

Dolly

Dolly Report 5 Jul 2011 15:34

Hi Marion,
Yes she does, she has many broken bones, mainly her arms, she has broken her back twice, the last time was 3 years ago, fortunately it's not bad enough to leave her paralised.
She is showing signs of arthritis, in her back, and feet, she's 34 now.
The granchildren luckily haven't inherited this condition. to look at her you'd never know she had anything wrong with her.
she is slightly shorter than me, only 5ft 2ins, she is pretty healthy apart from her bones. you can see she has brittle bones because the whites of her eyes have a blue tinge to them.

Does your daughter have to take extra care when doing anything?

Dolly

Dolly Report 5 Jul 2011 14:35

Hello Marion, my son is known to be accident prone, always has been since a small child, I have spent more time with him at A&E than I have my daughter who has a bone disease and breaks her bones easily, unfortunately her bone disease is passed through the genes so her nan has it, hence the broken hip.

Mum is ok now, she just has the off day where she dehydrates, she has water tablets that take some fine tuning or the innevitable happens, dehydration during hot weather. :-(

Afternoon everyone,

I hope everyone is well? clouding over here but still very warm, no sign of rain as yet!

Mad couple of days here, my son came home from work yesterday hobbling, he'd been to A&E, he'd been cutting granite, he's a stone mason, and the cutting tool jumped while cutting stone, they do sometimes, he managed to slice into his shin hitting the bone, he's had it stitched but is still in a fair bit of pain, he has to have the dressing changed tomorrow by our surgery nurses. then stitches out next week.

I've just had a call from my daughter to say her nan( my ex mil) is in hospital with a broken hip, they think she's had a fall, not sure yet.

Hi all,

Sorry that i haven't posted mucc recently. No excuses, just sheer laziness and nothing much to post about.

Weather here has been wet, and is now cold, but as it is winter I can't complain.

Got our water rates this morning $929.00 dollars, although with discount we will only pay $750.00. On top of that we pay throughout the year for our actual water used. I am dreading getting the Council Rates.

I seem to be turning into the typical Aussie whinger :-(

I hope that you are all well, and, Joan, any more news on your potting shed?

Take care all

Allan

Dolly Report 1 Jul 2011 10:57

Morning All, hope everyone is well this lovely sunny day

I had a lovely day yesterday, I spent time winding my balls of wool in skanes so I could wash it, I unpicked a huge aran cardigan I knitted a few years back, now I am losing weight I didn't want to throw it out for jumble, so I unpicked it, what a job! :-\ anyway, its now out on the washing line drip drying, so I can re-roll it later today and start knitting something else :-D
I absolutely love knitting, yes I know, its a boring pass time for some but I just love it :-D
I am going to take up sock knitting after my aran is knitted up, as they are just such fun to do.
