Morning Barbra and everyone,

Its been a windy dull morning with the odd light shower today. I have managed to do a pile of ironing, well I do have cotton sheets and love getting into a lovely smooth bed, plus ironing for my youngest who is going away this weekend to stay in london for some comic/animation show, they can dress up in character for it, which they are going to do. he will still be on crutches as his leg is still painful, he is only going because the hotel is booked and tickets bought.

Shopping delivery in an hour, I won't be here, I am off to the doctors with mum to sort her medication out, but both my lads are here with girlfriends so I'm sure bbetween them they can sort the delivery out :-)

Morning Everyone,

Its a dull miserable rainy day here, I've just had to put the light on the see to type!, I don't think my son will be doing his window cleaning today unless it clears a bit.
I hope everyone is well? I am feeling a lot better today.

Hubby and I were discuussing visiting my daughter last night, I always say my daughter, when he thinks of her as his too, she is from my previous marriage, her hubby is in the RAF, they have recently been posted to Coningsby in Lincolnshire, thats a 4 hour drive for us, I'm not good travelling any distance, we will have to stop a few times as I get so stiff sitting, train would be better but its so much more expensive, nearly £80 each where as it will be about £50 for both of us by car.
I haven't seen her since she's moved, we do talk to each other on the phone a lot, but its not the same as physical contact, I miss her terribly.
We may wait to visit until after the grandchildren break up from school, or go over a long weekend, not sure yet.
We are having a few days away in August for our 25th Wedding Anniversary, hopefully we will go before then.

Thank you Marion, I think I did a pretty good job considering how hard it was for her, she knew if she'd broken a bone, then it was off to hospital, nine times out of ten she'd have to have an anasthetic to straighten what she'd broken, but all in all she has been extremely brave and I'm so proud of how she has turned out :-D

Dolly X,

MarionfromScotland Report 5 Jul 2011 17:03

Thats good, must have been hard to let her get on as normal as possible.
Seems like you did a good job then :-)

Dolly

Dolly Report 5 Jul 2011 16:43

After her trip to hospital for 2 broken arms, it was cleared up then, so I carried a letter on me to take to any A&E if I was out of my home area to prove she was not a battered child.
Happy days, but I am so glad I don't have to cope with a small child with brittle bones now, I'd find it very hard, I was just 20 when my daughter was born so a young mum back in the 70s.
I coped well considering, but I never wrapped her in cotton wool, she rode a bike, went ice skating, and many other activities other kids did.

Poor you.:-0
Ive heard of that happening. I hope it wasnt long before you were 'cleared'

Marion

Dolly

Dolly Report 5 Jul 2011 16:16

Yes Marion, we knew she had it before she was born, she had a broken rib at 6 weeks old and then both arms broken at 9 weeks. It then it went on from there really, I was accused of child battering but it was all cleared up once the hospital realised how family members were related and the orthopaedic surgeon had been looking after other members of the same family, cousins.
