Richer in the spiritual sense but certainly not the financial one. Although having said that, the money will cover the Council Reates, a couple of new car tyres and a new printer. I may even be able to take OH out for a bag of chips ;-)

Barbra, hope that your op is soon. There is nothing worse than having a long time to worry about things. In the meantime take very good care of yourself.

First day of spring here (1st Sept) and the garden needs tidying up plus a few trellises to be constructed for the new grape vine and also the Passion Fruit vine.

Sorry to hear about your mum. It's pleasing that both of you trust the GP, that is an important point. Although your mum may be having some discomfort, I'm pleased that there is no pain. There really seems little more that I can say other than be strong. My thoughts are with you and your mum

Joan, I have visions of you in your potting shed, sitting on a deck chair by the door with a cuppa in hand :o) I didnt say what was in the cuppa ;o)

Weather here today is overcast, but warm enough to leave the back door open for a while, I am off to WW today.

I have to go and see mum again this morning, I had to call our GP in yesterday, she is back in bed, it turns out her BP has dropped too low, causing her to feel faint, she is in chronic heart failure and has had a few problems re: a reoccuring cough that (sorry to be so graphic) she coughs up blood stained mucous, I didn't know until yesterday that the cough and blood is part of the heart failure, I know when she gets a cough it can be the start of her heart attacks in the past, she had 3 in about a 9 month period, but her meds have kept things pretty well controlled until now, she has no pain in her chest with her heart attacks, just sickness and a cough and tacacardia.If her meds can't be cotrolled at home she is going into hospital to get them sorted, GP will ring on thursday to see how things are going.
I spoke to our GP when she had got back to the surgery, she rang me to updaye me on whats going on, mums condition is a lot worse than it was 3 months ago, she is exhausted most of the time, but her mind is still the mind of someone whos about 40, she is 83, she is alert and really 'with it' in dress sense and her outlook on life, her body just fails her, her arthritis isn't brilliant either, but at least she totally trusts our GP which I do too.

Finally finished my Census duties a couple of days ago. It was hard work, but on reflection, enjoyable, but certainly worth more than the pittance the Australian Bureau of Statistics were paying :-(

Sorry to hear about all the health problems :-\ including Sid.I hope your all sorted out soon.

I was out in the garden yeasterday....clearing a bed out of big stones and pebbles,clearing away the old weedcontrol covering.Its been there for years and did the job well. Apart from a couple of ferns that grew through it. They looked ok,gave it some colour,but the roots were all over the weed control stuff.
Putting up some new panels so had to get it cleared.
Had a bit of flooding a couple of months ago so it got into a mess.

Hopefully get it all sorted out before the winter starts

Just made it I think, as you say Joan a horrible night re wind
and rain and still going now. Joan if you want to speak about
knee Op PM me any time, recovery time is between 6 to 12 months
but the RA pain is no more.

Dolly nice to see you back and that you had a good time.

Why didn't you say earlier, keep your chin up,know how much it helps
when you get the support from friends I've had loads from folks on here
and was grateful for it before and after the Ops. <3

I hope the weather is being good to you today? its a beautiful sunny morning here be it a bit chilly in the wind.
I have just been and checked the hens and to see if my baby Sid is ok, he was laying under the fur trees, he has been a bit poorly these last few days, I think its where he may not be able to tolerate the cat flea (front line) I use, I shall have to talk to the vet on tuesday about what to use instead, I've used it before on Sid but he didn't behave quite like he has this time, he was actually sick and went right off his food, and has slept for England, which I know cats will do when they're under the weather.

As you can see I have changed my Avatar, this photo was taken on our Anniversary in Canterbury, we had a super day that day, the weather was beautiful.
The place we stayed was 'The olde Moat House' in Ivychurch, Romney Marsh, it was fantastic, a beautiful old 14th Century house, masses of oak beams and a lovely place to stay, we are going to go again sometime.
Breakfast was simply the best! especially as I didn't have to cook it.

Morning from a wet cold Aberdeen.

Joan got antibiotics from GP yesterday as have infection in
knee which has caused a lot of swelling in leg and ankle but,
am getting there never the less, onwards and keep taking the tablets.
