Hello all

Santa left one lousy present here in WA....hot weather!! :-|

Yesterday the temp reached 39.9c. Even the official temp of 37c was 2 degrees higher than forecast. At 8.00 pm last night it was still 31c and not a breath of wind.

This morning at 4.00am we were down to 23c

The air-con was working overtime and if the high temps continue we can expect power cuts as the demand soars :-(

Other than that, nothing to complain about :-D

Hello all

Continued hot yesterday, we reached 41.5c :-(

2011 is going out with a bang, literally. Whilst going for my walk this morning I was entranced by all the lightning which was taking place. No thunder during the early part of my walk, but as I got further away from home the thunder started so I knew that the storms were getting closer. As some of you may know I go walking very early (3.00am) so the lightning displays were spectacular.

However, just as I was nearly home, walking near the foreshore there was an almighty flash of lightning accompanied by the loudest crack of thunder that I've heard for many years. It sounded like the crack of doom.

I could also hear the lightning crackle through the air.

It has been a strange week for heavenly sights.

Christmas Eve morning, again going for my walk I saw what I thought must be a searchlight beam shining vertically upwards. When I got home and read the paper I realised that it was in fact the tail of Comet Lovejoy.

Although the comet itself has not yet made an appearance, the tail has been prominent all week! Below is a link to an article about the comet for those who may be interested

Very slippy underfoot here this morning as had loads of rain

Morning everyone, what a nasty windy wet and dull day we have. I went out this morning to find all my hens in the garden at 7.00am, the door to there house had been blown open, goodness knows how as it has a bolt to close it, poor girls were all soaking wet, now they are all snuggly under cover with food and water.

I hope everyone is well? I have the ordeal of a weigh in tomorrow at WW, I think I have put on about 5lbs! but I did have a lovely Christmas and ate choccie and gorgeous cheeses, so only have myself to blame. Back to the hard work of sorting my diet out and getting back on track :)

Hope you're not too windy where ever you are.
Is anyone on FB? if so can I please add anyone mine? I use FB a lot to keep in touch with people.

Hi all

Back home again at last. I have been and still ill. Had throat and chest infection. Went back to doctors got more tablets to take hope these work. Fed up with not being able to speak. Or go out anywhere driving me mad.

I have a new toy. Got my self a netbook my daughter Teris friend was selling it and knew i wanted one so let me have it alot cheaper.So when i get my money for the car accident i was in. I can get a laptop to keep at home,

Marion I think i helped also with the winds today ;-)

OMG!! WW was worse than I thought, I have put on 1/2 stone! 7 flipping pounds! I am really cross with myself for pigging out, I knew I'd mess it all up. But................ I am now back on track after that shock to get back into counting points, I have been shopping too today, bougfht hubby a couple of new pillows in the sale at Beales and some steak knives, the handle kept coming off my old ones and I am now down to 2, so needed some new ones, also managed to find an egg slices, its hard to slice an egg thinly, I slice an egg up and have it on ryvita for breakfast some mornings,so thats another thing sorted. I was hoping to find a good boot jack but I'll have to get one from a garden centre as no where in town had one, I could do with some new wellies for splodging down to the hens morning and night.
I hope everyone is getting back to there usual routine, Hazel I hope your cold and chest infection soon goes.

its freezing here and coming back from Te**o we had sleet.
hope itsfine on Saturday as we are visiting son/dil for her
birthday in Elgin. Don't fancy going through Glens of Foundland
if there is snow, been there done that in a white out and wouldn't
recommened it.

Well its been windy here alnight. not too bad now. Rain on and off. Dont know how cold it is as not going out as still feel ill.Its mainly my throat stil playing up

I am going to try and get a stone off this year.I need 2stone but if i do one at a time,i am hoping it will make it bit easer.

Ive been pigging out too.Been working through 'goodies' that are really bad lol.
Cold here but the sun is out.
OH was on a train this am and it hit a tree.Two people were injured but it could have been really nasty.
