Oooh - missed Cheryl refusing to vote! (on the phone)
Who did she put in an 'awkward' position.
Usually they make it a draw so the number of votes from the public is used.

This had sunk a bit, nobody watching it now?

Was that unusual for Cheryl to refuse to vote?

Wagner is definitely a novelty, but at this stage of the competition it's unfair that he should survive and John Adeleye should be voted off.

The standard is really high this year, I think, except for Belle Amie - another dim girl band with nothing to show us that's different from other girl bands, and Cher - she is different and vulnerable but isn't up there with the likes of Rebecca, John, Matt and Aiden. Cher should come back another year when she is a bit older.

i think the winner is chosen from day 1, and i think its a fix anyway. also i think cheryl is playing it safe this year with her lot as cher and rebecca sing the same songs every week i dont think mary will win as shes not a pop star and the young kids wont buy her mucic so i think although i dont like cher shes in with a good chance as shes young so the young girls will buy her music.

Read today in the paper that theres a facebook campaign to get everyone to vote for Wagner...

Similar to the one last xmas that got Rage in the machine to the number 1 spot to stop Joe McCelldrey getting the xmas number one.

It worked and Joe went to number 1 the following week

According to the paper some people are voting 10 times for Wagner!! They must have more money than sense....isn`t it about £1.00 a time to call?

I`m always dubios of any of these Tv voting things..... I think in Big Brother and I`m a Celebrity the editing plays a big part on where the votes go........ and don`t believe we ever get to see what really goes on in an hour highlights show...

I went right off Matt when I read that he dumped his longterm girlfriend who accompanied him to the first auditions, apparently 'because the Xfactor people told him to' Her father wrote told a paper that Matt hadn't really been a painter and decorator and had never held any job down for long, and now had broken his daughter's heart. He did say himself he was sitting in an hotel he was supposed to be decorating and wondering why he was there. I was disappointed to see John Adeleye sent home, he was a much more worthy person but I am sure he will have a recording contract very soon as will some of the others if they get voted off.
Seems Katie has already been in touch some years back with Syco, Simon's company, and was a backing singer for someone on a tour. It's the people who never had opportunities before who deserve to win.
I like Rebecca but hated the way they dressed her up this past week, wondered if they had a bulk delivery of red hair colouring sent from Loreal, cos they're worth it lol

I never vote now, it's too silly and Wagner should have been sent home by now. Mind you, he was quite a hunk in his younger days going from some of the pics they showed, imagine him a p.e. master before he got fat and gray.

Given past hoo-haas I think programme makers are probably squeaky clean in regards to numbers of votes.
But.....they have no control over how many votes individual viewers can make so numbers of votes can far outweigh the number of 'fans'.

I doubt Jedward would have stayed as long as they did if everyone had 'pay as you' go phones. Same goes for Wagner. i think it's a backlash against 'reality' shows.

Real talent will out and will be snapped up. I don't think the iikes of Matt and Rebecca need to rely on the XF anymore now that they have been seen and heard so it may as well be Wagner all the way now.

Good point Chrissie:o))
l don't vote anymore, pointless realy!!
l've even threatened not to watch but l like to hear most of them and must admit its my time to rant at the telly.
Mary has the best voice but not going to be a pop star, although she will do ok now:o)))
l tink Rebecca has an amazing voice and so does Matt, one of them should win:o)))

ll do hope John can get something out of this too, bless him:o)

Good points there Chris.

In all fairness, I don't vote either........so I suppose I shouldn't complain should I? lol.

I would love Rebecca to win, although maybe it would be better for her not to........she will get a recording contract anyway, she is so good. Her style of music isn't to my taste, but she has got such a lovely tone and quality to her voice that I could listen to her singing for hours.

Matt hasn't sung a wrong note yet......he is very very good.

No i don`t vote either on any reality show...used to in the early days, but theres far too many of them now, my phone bill would be extortinate!.

Standards very high this year...think the only one at the moment who I think will definatly make the final {and hopefully win} is Matt...he hasn`t put a foot wrong yet and has proved he can sing anything.....who will join him in that final is anyones guess, though i`d like to see Mary and Rebecca and maybe one of the bands...

When you think about it, none of us know if the two acts we are told received the lowest votes did actually receive the lowest.

It may well be that the winner has already been decided and the votes cast by the public count for nothing. You may think me cynical, but with previous reports where winners of other shows have been decided and voters have been refunded with the cost of their call, anything is possible.

Simon Cowell knows his business. Jedward was the talk of the country last year. He had the chance to vote them off but let the judges vote go to deadlock which meant going to the public vote and Jedward stayed. Did the public really bote that way????

Wagner is this years novelty.
Love him or hate him he's causing a stir for X Factor.
The whole show is engineered from start to finish, the producers know exactly who they want to promote. The contestants are puppets

I never vote on these shows but will say 'keep Wagner in a little longer' - it's acts like him that give saturday night some good old fashioned LE.

Nickydownsouth

Nickydownsouth Report 25 Oct 2010 09:20

Mary ...Yeah see your point...he surely can`t be appealing to the younger audience??

Think Wagner would be best suited to operatic type songs like G4 used to do. As all the "themes" each week seem to be wide open to any song that the mentor chooses, I`m sure Louie could have found him something more suitable. instead he seems to be sort of "sending him up" by making him sing these novelty songs.....

Couldn`t belive he put Wagner through anyway..I thought that girl Aleesha in that category was loads better......

I am not sure if he can sing or not, he may be able to if he had the right material. But he doesn't come over as a nice person to me, no charisma. Maybe all the South American viewers who liove in this country are voting for him. (And/or the Portuguese).

Cath2010

Cath2010 Report 25 Oct 2010 08:02

Wagner is awful. Should never have got this far.
Its supposed to be a show for those that can sing, nobody in their right mind should be voting for him!

Matt is awesome, nice looking, unassuming and GREAT voice. I hope he wins.

Louis gets stranger every year.

Nicky, I could understand the voting for Jedward and even Chico....they both appealed to the younger viewers, and, dare I say, to some of the older ones who would *mother* them? lol.....and they were quite entertaining in their own way lol.

But Wagner is much older and I can't see that he would appeal to them in the same way? I just don't get who would be voting for him!

Last week Belle Amie were in the bottom 3. Now, they are 4 girls who didn't know each other previously, therefore they have 4 different lots of friends as well as their families all voting for them.......and yet they still got less votes than Wagner??

Mary

Nickydownsouth Report 24 Oct 2010 22:56

I think the people that vote for Wagner are the same ones who voted for Jedward last year and Chico a few years earlier....they all made the last 6 so think Wagner may be there for a few weeks longer....

Its just a shame when the really good acts get ousted in favour of these novelty acts...
