its difficult for a teacher to diferenciate the lesson for say 4 diff types of need for say 9 pupils when he/she has a class of say 32 see teachers specialise in a certain curriculum area which does not include SEN so instead of having then all locked up in a unit they are intergrated into mainstream and given the same opportunities as their peers but without ar help they may as well be back in the unit getting care for their particular condidtions ~ a wage still has to be paid someone it may as well go towards making a difference and aiding pupils to reach their goals |

true but like I say if they were employed in mainstream classrooms they would need perhaps 4 for those same 2 in specialised units |

What ? are you saying the teacher is incapable of putting out different levels of work to the pupils ? in other words if they cant all do the same she cannot cope ?? god help us then , so are you saying as an untrained teacher YOU are in charge of the less able pupils ? surely they require a fully trained teacher skills even more so . |

Carol, pogwosh, it is no cheaper to build the out dated, unsafe prefabs then it is to build a modern eco friendly building! BUT as said already, they DONT build prefabs anymore? |

There are a good number of purpose built homes round here for the elderly, it's true that there are perhaps not enough to meet needs...could be in part down to the fact we are living longer on average ( and perhaps that is less common for elderly parents to go and life with one of their children?). |
