Hayley Leg End

The socks, including the odd ones ( of which I have many) and the Scotchmac I can probably deal with but does the double decker have to go to Manchester? The only double deckers we have around here are on the school run and I no longer look good in a gym slip :((

I wish I could ask "what is a ida down?"

By the way..... the cough. I tried every thing. Slept for weeks sitting up, drank loads of ice cold water and usual remedies. Went to the doctor after 4 weeks, he said "it's viral, come back in 6 weeks if it hasn't cleared". I thought "what a ****" but sure enough it was gone within the timescale !!

Florence61 Report 21 Oct 2010 20:42

hi all, i swear by a hot drink of boiling water, juice of half fresh lemon, 2 teaspoons of honey and 2 tablespoons of glycerine. sip gently until finished. take 1/2 hr before bedtime.

my dad also says this will work because if glycerine is used to make bombs blow up, then it will definately break up a chesty cough. you can get the glycerine from most chemists. last time i asked for a large bottle as i live 60 miles from town and didnt want to be back and forth. i was really surprised when the assistant asked me what i wanted it for, i said for my bad cough what else would i do with it. she laughed and then said some people make home made bombs!

RR mentioned about steeping an onion in milk, my Nan used to do that, but before she put the onion in she used to stud it with cloves, then when it was cooked she ate it. can't remeber what she did with the milk though.
