I'm back, I was fine before getting to Peru and boarding the ship, I thought Geat, I can get some sun on my body, have some nice dood and complete rest......................Wrong, 3 days after boarding the ship, got a coughing bug from the air conditioning which finally affected over 400 passengers (over Half), ship was great, food was great, drinks were equivilent to Btitish Pub prices, Entertainment wasnt bad and in spite of feeling grotty took part in two evening shows on bopard, BUT, I spent a lot of time in my Bunk, missed quiye a few meals and took 63,000 Mg of Antibiotics in 21 days (3,000 a day) without success, although it may have stopped it getting worse.
Have been to my Doctor today and he has given my another supply of Amoxicillin and I have to supply samles for analasis Monday morning and if it is what I think it is I may be in Hospital again by the end of the week

Cant win can I ????

I cant die yet, I have to type out my book number 7 and cut and paste all the ships activities leaflets and the photos I took (370)

You can post if you wish and give all my friend my LOVE

Mac

I feel sad that yet again Mac's holiday was spoiled by health problems, this time caused by the air con. Surely with so many people in one place there should be ways of making aircon and such more germ free. This is 2011 !

Get well soon Mac and hope you can stay out of the horsepiddle!

Enjoying the wet weekend Huia....

I will be thoroughly confused this week with the Brits having changed their clocks this weekend and we changing ours next weekend. Why oh why can't we both do the change together is beyond me. I think it is two weeks apart when they end their summer and we end our winter.... it is crazy.

I thought the Mad Butcher was really generous paying for all those Christchurch service people to come up here to watch the Warriors match.

I asked Mac for an update and here it is folks!

Update on the Old Geezer

Hi everyone, Still in the land of the living, but still have a few problems with my right
Lung, But I'm not feeling so bad as I was, waiting for an appointment at Scarborough Horspiddle with the Consultant
I have been to the Coast and up on the Moors a couple of times with the Grandkids, At Filey Brig last week we picked a large bag of Mussels and Winkles, but there was a Sea Fret and the temperature was 5C (41F) when 5 miles inland it was 20C (68F) so I took the Girls to a Favourite Park of theirs at a village called Snainton to warm up.
Still working at the Air Museum and I have taken on another big project, because I wont be allowed to die before I finish it, I have been doing this for years and it works, the project is building a full size model aircraft engine for a first world war aircraft that we have, the original two old men that put it together made a laughable job on what they thought would do and its been bugging me for years, so I am going to make a great improvement to make it look like a PROPER engine
Just finishing Book No.7 today, this one about the Cruise we have just done, 120 pages.

I looked at re-joining the site, but the prices have gone "barmy", so I wont be, cant afford it now, I'm down to my last Half Million.........................

Hi there Mac. You have the right spirit. We wont let you kick the bucket for a long time either. At least you can read these boards, even if you cant post on them. Which Air Museum is that where you work? If I had known in 1997, my brother in law would have been keen to visit it. We visited another one, but further down England if I remember rightly.

Persie, (~~~~ back,) I visited the Hunua Falls and Cosseys Dam on Sunday. The falls were busy with people, although the carpark is being altered and was not as large as it was in the summer. The dam is as usual. Yesterday on my way home from town I visited the Falls again, since the rain the previous day had made the river swollen. There was lots of water over the falls, with spray flying up, and as the sun was shining there was a rainbow in the spray. Naturally I took some photos. I also took some photos of the falls in the Gorge. They are now visible again as the trees which had for some years blocked the view have been chopped down.

I really should go and visit them - I went to a church grave site in Hunua that has relatives buried there and gleaned some info - but should go and visit Cossey's Creek and Dam since it is part of my heritage.

Latest update from Mac: (with reply for Huia re Air Museum)

Hi Liz,

Just been looking for and found your thread and thought it was time I answered the question "Which Air Museum"?.............It's the Yorkshire Air Museum, the largest in the North of England with 50 aircraft and still growing, I have started on the full size model of the Engine, it will be made mostly in wood, with parts of a car engine, rockers, tappets and springs etc and Copper pipework.
When finished it will look quite like the real thing.
If anyone is over this way and fancies popping in, I am there Tuesdays Thursdays and Sundays most weeks when I am not in Horsepiddle dying, "Only twice in 5 months"

Not feeling too bad recently, but having a lot of Chest Pain, I thought about driving to York A&E this afternoon, but decided to wait until morning and go down to my GP to get checked out.

I finished Book No 7 and "guess what", I have started on Book No 8, of all the holidays I have ever had from being young boy during WW2 up to today

I think it may be 2 or 3 volumes by the time it is finished, I wish i had started writing 30 years ago, I might have had a few bob in the bank by now.

Haven't tried a fictional book yet, I could probably write a decent one based upon the characters i met in the Navy

All the books so far are for my two Grand Daughters, as I have said before there is not a lot they wont know about Granddad, and it will save them a lot of money, time and effort researching.

My Love and Best Wishes to all of you xxxx

P.S, What's happened to Keith, Is he still on Genes ???
