I would love to go, but Oct Nov will definitely be out as my transplant will be Oct/Nov, and it will be a couple of months after that before I will be able to go out to play.probably Dec and January too as I shan't be able to be further than an hour away from the hospital, and may not be allowed into crowded places until around Feb, anyway. What a stinker!!!

Never mind, I hope you all have loads of fun xxxxx *sobs*

Love

Any date after mid-October, any day - - not too late, midday onwards Not fussed about what if any food available, can't drink for medical reasons but happy to watch others! Children n/a, wheelchair no but disabled parking preferable yes so out of central Newcastle might be a bit easier for me but not vital.

Hi Folks,

Union Rooms - very good.

Bridge- fair.
Tilleys - fair.
Yates - fair.
Today, I was in the Milecastle (on the corner of Grainger Street and Westgate Road, opposite St Johns Church) This is very good.
There is also a Pub/cafe in Central Station along from the Metro which is quite good

the gateshead meet was in a loverly place

Oh Stray, your answers are just what I expected from you. Lets hope your accident free between now and the meet. Do you think we can get our Kim to come? It is a long way for her though.

Do you know, there are two people I would love to meet again. BC and CB.

Hi Linda and Kay, thanks for your replies.

I believe most meet ups start about midday, depending on what time trains arrive for members travelling a distance. I have stood on many a platform waiting to meet various trains. The most memorable one was at central station Newcastle in the freezing cold waiting for a few members to arrive. But please remember those that come by car will have to find a multi storey parking space which can prove rather costly if you are staying for 3 or 4 hours.

I am sure all places will be smoke free Kay. I am ashamed to admit that I am a smoker too. (Tobacco only I must add)

As I said earlier, it will be hard to find a suitable place in Newcastle. I have only lived up here for 12 years so I don't know the town very well. Our Mau would be good a suggesting a place.

I hope this meet up will be cost friendly for all. I for one could not afford a really expensive place where the food costs an arm and a leg. We need a clean and comfortable place that can accommodate us without upsetting the regulars. Hope you understand what I mean. Lol.

Jenny

Thank you Jenny,

I will go anywhere, any time, as long as it is smoke free.

I don't mind the day as long as I know well in advance so I can rearrange commitments. Having said that, Saturday would be very good for me because it can't clash with anything

It would take me about an hour and a half to get there,so not 9 am lol

I am happy with a pub, but I don't drink at all when i drive,so non alcoholic would be fine as well.

I don't have young children and don't need disabled access

Phew, i think that covers it

Well, I think its about time we got this sorted. As I said, I would be quite happy to organise a meet, perhaps Newcastle would be the best place.

But when I did the 'Geordie Meet' I found it very hard to find a suitable place in the centre of the town. I ended up booking The Three Bulls Heads, where a section upstairs was reserved for us and the food was not too bad there but not brilliant. If anyone knows Newcastle well then please make suggestions.

If it looks like we have a large turnout, a Saturday is usually the most popular day. A match day is a no no in Newcastle.

What I need to know is what suits all those interested. Please answer all questions.
