As some have been up until the wee small hours adding conjecture and hypothesis to this, please let me make myself clear.
This thread was put on here to draw attention to the fact that my security on GR had been breached, and to act as a warning that it could happen to others. Nothing more, nothing less. For others to make game out of it, is beyond the pale, as far as I am concerned.
If you will read my opening thread, it said 'He has normally been okey'. That is to mean, on the few occasions that he has PM'd me, he has never been anything other than jovial, and that has been the tone of all PM's both back and forth.
This person first contacted me, just about a year ago, when he must have read my contribution to someones thread about Gall Bladders and pain. During the course of the year, he has contacted me, on maybe a dozen times, picking up on my contribution to peoples thread. Nothing sinister or wrong in that.
Which brings us to Thursday of this week. He sent me a PM asking me to return to my thread as, a place was not in the county I had said it was. I did not have a thread on any of the boards at the present time, about this place or any other. But, I had contributed to someone elses about the same place. This I have already said in the third sentence on my original post.
There was one or two PM's between the both of us about my geography. This was not about Derbyshire, SRS, it was about Eye in Northants, which he insisted was not there. I replied, yes it was, just above Peterborough. His reply was to say 'I hope you are not driving A*** car, as you will be in they wrong county. Peterborough is in Cambridgeshire'. I thought that only transcribers in tha past had this problem, as they had variously put this place in Lincs,Northants, and Cambs.
At this point, I was becoming alarmed, as A*** is my husband's real name. In a couple of PM's that followed in the same vein, I asked who A*** was. Long pause all afternoon, then a PM giving my full name, address postcode, and my husband's full name, and as residing at the same property as myself.
That, and that alone, the fact that someone, male or female could access another person's private information with assistance from personal details on here, was what instigated my thread. Surely, that is not hard for anyone to understand.
However, having given this information on here in my thread, for the sake of others,I did not expect someone to come on and reply with remarks to the effect that I was making this up, because it had happened on here before.I am not a neurotic menopausally challenged 40/50 something, nor am I a prepubescant teenager, with all that goes with that. I am a normal 60 something whose private security had been breached, and who was warning others, and I have better thing to do with my time.
I have a problem that my personal security has been breached, but I do not have a problem with anything else, and do not see why others do.
TO JANEY - my non acknowledgement of yourself was not meant for any other reason than I wanted to walk away from this thread, as many saw it as some kind of a joke, and I had other matters to attend to. I thank you very much for your contribution

Edited to say, this person is not a regular poster on here, not at least during the day-time hours. If he posts after 18.30 and removes his posts before the morning, I would not know about that, as I am never on the boards at night.

Julia, I was not making a joke of what you were saying but actually making a serious point. I also was responding to Janey's post about possible context.

I obviously didn't know what the original thread was about, (and I made that clear in my post) and the point was neither did most people on here however they all took your side (which is nice because it shows that people care about you). People however come up with their own assumptions and fill in the gaps and think the other guy is obviously in the wrong and a completely horrendous person.

I am not saying you are making it up but I have been here long enough to see threads posted by people saying one thing and getting a lot of sympathy. Then the other person to comes on later with their side (just as Uggers said). Neither person was in the wrong, it was just a misunderstanding but it didn't stop all the name calling in the mean time which wouldn't have happened if everyone had seen the whole picture.

The whole point was that we didn't know the context of his post and that is were the danger lies. people interpret it all sorts of ways, not necessarily correctly. As I said earlier I'm not saying your concerns were without foundation but nobody on here could make that judgement without seeing all the facts.

I thought SRS take on it was pretty dammed clever .

No SueMaid, I did not think you were making a joke, and whilst the whole context of this person's PM's was not put up in my original thread, I did say 'He has normally been okey', and said it was about a breach of my private and personal details, him having access to my full name address and post code, and tha name of my husband
Amy, get off. You would agree that the Ayatollah Homeneh,(sp), Satan and Beelzabub had a good take on something, just to get on a thread and make mishief. You have been looking for a spot where you could make an entrance on this thread.
I have said everything there is to say, having explained what he had said, the information he managed to access, and my warning to others.
I will not take this thread off until I think people have had time to read it, and to read it properly, to see just exactly what I mean.

I forgot to say, I took it from Janey's post that she wasn't making the point that you hadn't responded to her post.

It was more about that she was agreeing with you rather than merely defending you because you were one of her chums. :)

Julia with respect since you put this thread up I have sat on my hands, as I know my presence distresses you. I myself had a thread up a few weeks ago about security and someone cloning my direct tree. All except for a small number of persons that thread was treated with scorn and derision, some even thought I deserved everything I got me being a bad guy and all. I sobbed for hours that day as those who know me best already know. It was about 3 weeks later I got a response from GR saying yes I was right, yes it was someone out to get me and yes they have banned the person concerned. Any breach of security is NOT to be taken lightly. However, I do feel if you cannot name the name in question you must say who it is NOT. I hate it when men are accused on her as immediatly every man becomes a suspect and yes every man known to us is speculated on. If you wish to prevent this type of thing occuring again then I would consider alerting everyone to either who "he" is or who he is NOT. Do you not realise how distresssing it is for the men on here not to be cleared of any such allegations. Whilst no-one is named every one is guilty in someones eyes. I also hate the fact that all men are branded together, its not all the men on here that are tw@ts, some of the women are too. Everyone is an individaual and needs to be treated as such. I'm sorry I had to post. I will not respond.

Thank you footie for your post, and yes can see where you are coming from. But I did say this person was not a regular contibutor to GR, to the best of my knowledge.
So to satisfy others, this is the people, as far as I can remember names, who it was NOT. Bob with the co-ordinates, Uggers, Hoff, Budgie Rustler, Foggy,and that is all the names I can think of, off the top of my head. I have said, before, he is not a regular poster.
I do not think anyone else has anything to fear from this person. I think he was showing me what information he could access, because he could, and it was there for the accessing.

I may be misunderstanding this further post of yours:

Are you still saying he is a stalker or are you saying he was showing how clever he could be or something else?

i know who it is, and iv never ever seen the man in question post, and as julia said she has ever seen them post on the boards either, that should e enough for you.
