Jean (Monmouth)

Jean (Monmouth) Report 27 Aug 2011 10:27

Will read this thread right through this afternoon when I am resting. Thats where the laptop comes into its own! I suffer from excema a nd psoriasis too, so I guess they are inter-related somewhere. Isnt it difficult to describe to anyone the horrid sensation you get when you cant get enough air! My sister looks at me as if I am fussing over nothing, luckily OH doesnt!

Glad you are getting somewhere Footie. There is so much help out there now, unfortunately up to about the 1970s virtually nothing and much damage was done to lungs of sufferers at that time.

Anyway onwards and upwards says she who is having her nightly fix as we speak (of oxygen) lol!!!!!!!

As way of an update : haven't been too bad of late pf is generally settled around the 220 mark. The new plan (smart plan) I have been put on with my inhalers is working reasonably well and I rarely need my blue unless I have an infection, of which I have had several mouth, throat and chest infections so inevitably more steriods and a little weight gain. I saw the Doctor on Tuesday and this Tuesday I will see a specialist who works closely to link skin diseases, allergies etc with asthma and anxiety as my main Doctor seems to think all three are linked and trigger one anotjher, what we don't know at present is what started the triggers x

I was glad to find this thread still here and hopefully its still of use to others, I know it has been a real blessing to me as I have re-read helpful posts x

Update: Been back to Drs today and have more time off work, have been given an examination and chest infection is finally leaving me and my pf is rising. She also adjusted my meds slightly so I should start to feel better soon.

Hi Rach, thank you for your comment. The weather here is pretty bleak too. I'm not too bad today, hope all others are doing ok too. I left the thread up so those who wish too can add as they feel. I have a great deal of respect for many of the posters on here and felt more able to deal with things I did not understand before. I do listen and heed advice on this thread as it is so very useful. Enjoy your day.

Hi Mel,

Just popping past to see how you were doing. Hope you are anaging to get a bit of rest.

Sorry to read that the thread turned a bit horrible, I was a bit suprised most people seemed to be discussing the topic sensibly.

Not to worry, hope you and anyone else with asthma is feeling better today. Hope your weather is better than ours, cold and wet!

Afternoon everyone. I have been to see Dr this mornng, he wasn't particularly useful so see another one on friday. He has however tested a few things blood sugar, pf, etc not particularly useful but never mind. My pf is 180 Im happy enough with that, but this chest infection as knocked me for six so I am off work till Monday next week. He didn't up my dosage he is leaving that to asthma Dr when she returns on the 2nd of Nov so please forgive me if I get a little anxious in that time. Logging off now, not sure if I will return or pop in tomorrow. Take care all.

Evening. Thank you once again for your continued, positive contributions. As I said on Saturday the thread remains. It has been invaluable to myself and I hope to others too and others have been a source of inspiration to me. Please can we continue to use the thread for the purpose it was set up for and try not to wander. I send my apologises for not been able to man the thread, but has people have already said I do need to rest, its one thing giving updates and another being attached to it. Also, my apologises for not giving ample notice of my departure and when I will return, when the co-codamol decides to kick in - I conk out. I will log off now and return tomorrow afternoon with news from the drs. Hope everyone is healthy and well, what with the weather changing etc. I cannot go the distance on these pills like I could without them. Nite all.

I really don't see the point or need in all this post mortem-ing - I agree with Chris and I'm going to leave this alone for now.

My post has been removed from yesterday, and it was only showing my disgust at the way the thread was turned, and praise for Mel who diddn't rise to the bait..

I think GR removed it as they wanted no more reference to the nastiness which went on the night before, as they had removed many of the offending posts.

As far as they seem concerned, its done with, so maybe we can let this thread continue in the vein it was intended, instead of finding more fault with whats left of it .

Fine, let it go Ice Baby let it go. It will put people off with genuine problems if they find they are scrolling down through trivia. Take care

ChrisofWessex Report 19 Sep 2010 15:54

Ice Baby - in this life you learn to ignore what is trivial but stand up for what you believe in. The pros in this case I believe outweigh the cons.

Uggers

Uggers Report 19 Sep 2010 15:51

Ice Ice Baby, I don't get that at all. Why should anyone have to keep coming on and monitoring a thread if they don't feel like it? We all post when we come on and come on when we want to or not, there's no requirement for anyone to log in every day. Besides which it was perfectly clear that a lot of posters thought Mel was making it up and weren't genuinely concerned anyway so it wouldn't make any difference.
