Amy, either as an absolute newbie, or a come-back kid under a new number, you have to earn people's respect on any board. You do not jump in feet first, Wimpy wellies, as they would say in these parts. You build up a relationship with fellow posters.
I too, have not been a member as long as some on here, but I do bow to their superior knowledge about things, and people,on here.
I would never join a chat board and talk to people as you have done here on GR. But then, I would never talk to other people like that in real life either. I was taught better manners than that. Probably comes from having an older sister who helped to bring me up.

I don't think I've ever called myself nice on here Amy. However, I don't intend to be nasty, spiteful or hurtful. I'm just me!

I like being on here, well most of the time lol. I like the people, even some of those that wind me up lol

I get the impression however that you don't like being on this board much or like most of the people on here. If that is true, it is a shame.

Yes Rose ty I have enjoyed doing my tree ... but unfortunately I have removed it from GR because I was told by another member that the Amy Musgrove that appeared on the boards minutes after my first post had added an Amy Winton to her tree .

Well she may be related Amy ? I don't see why one should remove a tree because someone else has 'nicked' a name ? It can't hurt.

Amy there is no sign of you being in any other Amy's tree... I think you were misinformed, by whom? would you like to say and then they can be re-assured there is no breach of security here.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant, they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let not this blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams; it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy.

Phew!!

Well no Rose it was by PM that I was told ,so sorry but you will not entice me to reveal who I was told by ,but yes I have been told that someone had been on Ancestry looking for an Amy winton to try and find out about me ..which Even that has been done wrong because several times I have been refered to as young ., which I am not ,but nothing I say will be believed so I will leave you all to have GR to yourselves ,Think you might find that this time you have actually driven out a NEW member .

Now no more bickering please Ladies.
Perhaps this thread is an indication as to why us chaps keep our noses out of these boards.

Doubt that last remark Amy very much. You have made yourself so unappealing to the stomachs of the very many decent people on here. I ,and many others, have never seen you post anything that was not obnoxious, rude an offensive to others.
And why stress the word new. Don't make us all laugh
Remember, respect has to be earned.
