Liz 47 Report 4 Jul 2010 22:28

Slightly cooler this evening with a very strong wind. Got dark and overcast about 6 pm and we were hoping it would rain. One weather forecast said it might rain, another said staying dry - who do you believe?????

Amanda2003 Report 4 Jul 2010 22:24

Perhaps I ought to invest in some of these solar light thingies......might stop the blasted bugs from being drawn to the light of my window......I just know it will be pandemonium if one gets in .

Eldrick Report 4 Jul 2010 22:19

God, it's getting dark here as well! Could this be the end of the world as we know it?

The wind has fallen to leave an eerie silence, punctuated only by the bleating of the lambs and the calling of the early evening owls that are stretching their wings and readying themselves to spend the first hours of darkness in a forage for hapless small rodents to feed their hungry nests ful l of owlets....deep breath....but what's that noise? A loud bang? An explosion? Burglars or an angry ghost perhaps?

Oh dash, it's little Cedric the Mastiff, he's upset the pedal bin and ate the contents.

Eldrick Polly reported for scotland

Amanda2003 Report 4 Jul 2010 21:05

On the Norfolk / Suffolk boarder , right on the East Coast it has been locally very hot indeed . No sign of any rain and what little water that was left in my butt has gone well and truly stagnant , so I've given it a jolly good rinse out , ready for some rain now .
It was a bit windy in the early afternoon but that didn't put my OH off the idea of catching a Mullet ( fish ) , he nearly hooked himself a couple of times as the line kept wafting back in his face as is cast it out . He did however manage to realise his dream of landing one of them so is a happy man indeed .

Im worried about Scotland. Theres been no reports from there.

ALso the Isle of Man is neglected, not to mention St. Ives.

Jean (Monmouth) Report 4 Jul 2010 19:43

The wind here has dropped the temperature from 82 to 64 in a couple of hours, felt really cold. Had the heating on for an hour as it was so cold in the shower, bathroom had the wind straight on the window.

Just to let you all know the sun is now shinning but still very windy

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 4 Jul 2010 18:05

It's very windy indeed here. The seagulls are flying backwards and it's impossible to keep the burgers on the bbq. But it's a warm wind, which is far better than a cold wind, I suppose, but not as good as no wind. But then again, if there was no wind the midges would be out, so it's bad in that respect. So on the whole. I'm not sure. I think I'll just go to the pub and play cards.

Ooh Joan - a storm would be good! So long as it didn't last too long. It'll save watering the tubs and the poor old water butts are nearly empty too.
