	BC, you don't know what you are missing. I remember it well, when we had school dinners, well over 50 years ago. Yes, I am really that old, but wasn't present at the sinking of the Titanic, so young enough to remember. It was baked in a shallow , but large tray type baking tin, so that it could be cut up into squares. It consisted of a lining of pastry, then a layer of jam, then a layer of thick set custard, and topped of with a generous sprinkling of coconut. This is how it was made in Derbyshire, but perhaps they made it different in Cheshire, 'caus they think they are posh up there.LOLOL Julia in Derbyshire
