BC, you don't know what you are missing.
I remember it well, when we had school dinners, well over 50 years ago. Yes, I am really that old, but wasn't present at the sinking of the Titanic, so young enough to remember.
It was baked in a shallow , but large tray type baking tin, so that it could be cut up into squares.
It consisted of a lining of pastry, then a layer of jam, then a layer of thick set custard, and topped of with a generous sprinkling of coconut.
This is how it was made in Derbyshire, but perhaps they made it different in Cheshire, 'caus they think they are posh up there.LOLOL

MrDaff Report 11 Jun 2010 10:35

Dead common, I am, Stray.... you know what gets me? I only cleaned them windows a couple of weeks ago... but the farmer has put some sheep into the field near us, and we have been plagued with horseflies. so I give everywhere a good spraying in the morning and again last thing at night. It is the spray that is mucking up the windows. *sighs*

Aw Cat.... I bet she'll look stunning! They don't half wash and brush up a treat, don't they? I like this American export.... although I think it came for our Debutante thingy in the first place.

Every girl deserves the chance to look like a Princess, and every young man a gallant Prince Charming.

Thanks Hayley

A £200 dress and a limo?!?!?!?!?!

I paid £95 for her dress and it's a taxi to the school (if my stepfather can't take her) for the coach to take them to the prom. It's being held at Haydock Park racecourse :-)

Daff, it'll be something to look forward to.
