Have just rang one cemetery up but was,nt the right one she ask did i have post code i told her no,so dont know were to find which Camberley Cemetery were shes buried ,so then i would be sure its here anyone got any suggestions cant ring them all up as i live in Holland and hubby would have a fit |

Dutch which cemetery have you tried? you know there is the Royal Military Academedy Cemetery in Sandhurst, Camberley also...I don't know if 'civilians' were ever buried there but it may be a possible if she had a military funeral as you say. |

Hi Rose,the one i rang was,nt the right one but i,ll sort out the letters as i did send one to Sandhurst but they wrote back saying they could,nt help as i did,nt have her las name ,so now i,ll try again |

I wouldn't worry on place of birth too much Dutch, the rest ties in pretty well, often people say where they first remember living rather than where they were actually born, |

Have just had reply from St Michaels church in Camberley they do have Mary Simmons but shes in unmarked grave buried 1934 so i dont think its her as she was born about 1837 anyway i have the lady dos she no who buried,but if she was buried with military honours ,it would,nt be unmarked as my g,father has stone from his regt |

Got reply saying if my g,g,aunt was buried with military honours ,then she is more than likely inBrookwood Military cemetery Camberley,you can look yourself or pay them to look ,but i cant afford to do that is there any kind person who could look for me ,thank you |

Have just had reply from History centre Surrey,regarding Mary he said if she went for tea with Queen Victoria ,then it implies that she had some connection with one of the regt of the British Army stationed in India 1857-8,its probably more likely that she was an officers wife or relation rather than non commissioned officer or odinary soldier,he said to get her death cert ,all the records are held in Windsor Castle in the Royal Archives,so now got to fathom what to do? |
