Here we go, the press are trying to have a field day again over the Cumbria shootings.

A press conference a few minutes ago on told us that police were present during much of the shootings, following behind him. Apparently Derrick Bird saw them at some point and turned into a driveway and pointed the gun at them, and the police had to take cover. At no point did any police officer have the opportunity to stop Derrick Bird.

Now these were three unarmed local bobbies, not your armed response unit. They were on the scene within minutes, if not seconds of the first call, the armed response unit were 'in the area' within 15 minutes. Eventually the unarmed officers were caught in traffic and lost sight of him.

Now the press are saying there should be an inquiry into the actions of the police going through the police complaints procedures.

Yeah, way to go, let's blame the police and not the person who did it eh? Pfffffffft.
