Thanks A nn , you get the odd ones who mock her and dont give her the time of day, but you get that anywalk of life, she comes and helps at the sales, other wise poor woman would have nothing, her son protects her and her and her brother collect the fruit of the trees we have that are for the public, they do things like for the elderly, and yet able bodied people dont weired how things work out xx :-D

Lolololol :-D that made me laugh elaine xx

yep just waiting for the call now, i know it probaly sounds silly but i was thinking of asking for some antibiotics to take over the course of the stay in hospital lol, everyone ive spoken to has stayed in cause there temp spiked when they were due to leave. i just want to be in and out, especially with it being miles away, but ive got a good network from the church and charity stall who will help OH out and give him a break.

i hope your ok and your erm doody is ok, gawd that made me chuccle xx

We have a 53 year old woman who lives in the village, she has the mental age of a 12 year old, she lives with her 3 brothers and her son, which wasnt planned, 2 years ago whilst her mum was still alive she had breast cancer, she was worried because she would be away from her mum but went into hospital.

she was lucky they removed her breast and she has not needed chemo or radio, but they also sisnt reconstruct her breast, its a awfull scar but bless her she always wears baggy tops..............UNTIL today bless her she came round with a hairdye, shed asked others and was upset they werew saying no, i could understand why because the dye was red, so i checked with head of the house her brother and he said go ahead.

her hair looked beaqutiful it was always wirey and fly away so i told her about conditioner, we were both really happy with the red well auburn, then she pulled out a packet of false nails she had of the charity table sat, so we did them, she wouldnt go as far as the make up but she didnt need too.

she wanted to show them off so we went to friends etc, she was so excited, someone wispered she likes the man in the paper shop, we all look out for her since her mum died, the cancer dosnt worry her at all so we dont mention it, but all keep a eye on her :-D

you go girl about time you thought of yourself, but please be carefull that he dosnt get antagonised though and hit you or something, and if you feel threatend please please get out and phone the police, you will then be placed in a safe house, if that happened you wouldnt be able to tell even your closest of family/friends, as he could get it out of them, you have my number use it sweety, its surprising once that an independant move like that how they suddenly change and want you back and prommise never to hit or verbally abuse you again, they always do, im so pleased your feeling positive elaine and he hasnt worn you so far down to a pulp that you are terrifed to help your self, i think your amazing, and like ive said you have lots of friends on here and we are with you all the way xxxxx

Thanks again jean, i know there looking at the bowels, as things changed about 2 months ago, and my body isnt absorbing any fat, its weird this all started as a ovarion cyst, but its all in there hands now, because of the aneasthetic, for part of the op i can have a spinal, and should the need arise they said they can have me asleep inseconds, i remember when i had a section with my son i had a spinal, i was staring up at the steel and could see the reflection, so i looked at the side, and could see wads of blood stained cloth in the end i shut my eyes, im sqeamish lol. :-Dxx it really helps chatting so thankyou with all my heart xxxx

I had a hysterectomy when I was 37, via the vagina. Best thing I've ever done no more monthlies. Felt tired for a while but that was all no probs bounced back and never felt better in my life. Still have ovaries but went on HRT in change suited me fine, wish I had that much energy now. Puss going to see a solicitor next week, to find out how I stand legally with the house.Maybe then I will start divorce proceedings, but stupid man then niether of us will win. Elaine <3

Rita Report 11 Feb 2012 20:05

I had a full Hysterectomy in 2005 they did it from the outside three insertions. most people went in and was out within four days but I was in there for a week. So many people had it done.

After going to the hospital every so often they discharged me in 2008 in the April . in October I was rushed into hospital with a embolism.was in there for a week., and after many tests they found I had cancer ( first stages ) in the kidney and liver. they cannot remove the Kidney as the oher one is not much good. so I now go to Hospital every three months for a scan (idodine scan ) and them to see the consulatant ten days afterwards I have been doing this for 3 years it is a long way for me to go and I dont drive. I use a care service to take me and bring me back,
I am not on medication but I now have a nodule on my lung and they dont want to operate due to my other issues.,The said they cannot do chemo as that will not help. so I wait now wondering what the next scan will show. I never drink or smoke I eat the proper foods yet here I am in this situation I know people who smoke heavy and drink alot and are healthy so it makes me wonder why me ? They are keeping an eye on me. so I dont know what will happen in the future whether I will get treatment of not. ?

Puss, a laparotomy is done with a vertical cut. Most scars these days soon almost disappear. Mine went to the right of my navel. Over the years i have lost count of the times I have been under anaesthetic for one reason or another. I have a scar from right ankle to just above the knee, and then four scars on my abdomen and chest. Luckily for me I am quite good with anaestheic.! Good luck with it all.

lorraineakapuss Report 11 Feb 2012 16:53

Thanks Jean, im hoping it wont go that far, there starting with a laporoctmy, from repairing , a different biopsy and if they dont like what they see they said they will remove the lot, ive got llesions and adhesions from having cysts removed and sections in the past, so its a case of going to sleep and hopefully waking up and hubby being there.

I had a bad reaction to the last aneasthetic a couple of years ago, so really i know i will have the best caare, im wondering if the pain afterwards is the same as a section, as i believe the cut is the same place.

I dont like the sound of that suction one, i havent many brain cells left as it is lol xx :-D

Jean (Monmouth)

Jean (Monmouth) Report 11 Feb 2012 14:34

Puss, sometimes they can do a removal via the vagina, or the other way is a cut just where your belly folds to hang over a bit, that is done from side to side. They will aim to leave you with the smallest scar possible.
Thanks for asking. We are in the throes of preparing to have new carpet laid, and finding the moving of two bookcases full of books, aload of music and the contents of a dresser. The carpet layer will move the shelves and cupboards. We have no space to put anything, but a lot is going in next doors shed.

Hello alyson, very sorry to hear about your husband and i hope the treatment is sucessful. having been through it with my daughter, i can sympathise with the travelling to and fro, its exhausting. the radiotheraphy is only probably a few minutes a day but getting there and back takes much longer.

i dont know what area you are in, but is there a scheme where your health authority would pay for you to stay in accomondation during the week and then go home at weekends? or if not do they have a travel scheme where you can claim back your petrol?

on a more positive note, remember they have said your husband is treatable otherwise, he would not have had chemo. so that means at least they think they have a chance of curing him. some patients are told sorry cant treat you, nothing we can do. so think positive and support him and i hope you have some friends and family to support you too. my daughter was 5 1/2 when she was diagnosed and this year will be 15 in sep. we call her the miracle!

so thinking of you and sending lots of positive energy to help you through this difficult time.

come back with updates to let us know how things are going. this thread is here to support people like yourself and many others, especially sometimes when its difficult to talk to those closest to us.

please take care
good luck

Hi All.
My husband was diagnosed in November with cancer in his throat. He has undergone intensive chemo and is currently 2 weeks in to radiotherapy which is 5 days a week for 6 weeks as an outpatient.
The hospital is about 30 miles away so most of our days are taken up through travelling and waiting rooms. Hopefully there will be a cure at the end.
A living nightmare :-(
