You're going to be busy soon then Gwyn learning new names. Not sure when our children go back to school here I shall have to ask Em. Her Sam goes to the big school this term. What age will the children be that you are helping with? you say year 4 but that means nothing to me now I am old.
Skies cleared a bit here and is now quite blue but I had a quick shower of rain a little while ago.
14 degrees here now and it feels quite chilly out but theres no wind to speak of.

Mel, I was not told not to sneeze, it was me wondering what would happen. As it was, I sneexed through my mouth not my nose, It didn't affect my nose at all.
Gwyn, I didn't see the consultant at all it was a 'Spec 2' whatever that is. Specialist nurse of some sort I expect. Very efficient and knew what she was doing even if there was a bit of a language problem. I don't have to cover it outside either if I am comfortable with it uncovered. Not sure which will draw most curiosity, uncovered and scabby or a bright ping dressing over half a nose. We have not had the sun that you have, it is cloudy bright again today.

Good morning all. Ann, It's good to read that the consultant was pleased with the look of your operation site. To us it might look angry, but they know what to expect and can judge from that. I think, like you, I would be more comfortable with the site uncovered indoors and I know you will be careful of the sunlight outside. It's still quite strong. I hope your blocked nose feeling improves day by day. I know just what you mean about getting appointments. I once went straight from audiology department at our hospital to the ENT nurse upstairs, where I usually go for regular appointments, but the receptionists were not able to make a forward booking for me, daughter had to phone later and go through the booking system.
Hopefully Vera will be feeling better and able to enjoy her coffee meet-up with friends. It sounds a friendly and supportive group.
Annx. You must have a pristine garden after all OH's weeding. He knows how to get on the right side of you ;-) He travels quite a distance for his match sometimes, doesn't he? Does the start of the new school year mean that he will be busier soon with more meetings?
Mandy, Have you managed to catch up with the lady to drop off your poppies yet? I bet she will be so pleased. Do you have 'toppers' on your Post Boxes round your way? I have seen themed ones in town for special events, but we haven't had any locally until recently, when 2 crochet seagulls arrived on the box on the corner holding a banner of crochet bunting in their beaks.
Mel Have you done all your fruit picking for the moment? I have been spying the best bushes for blackberries, while I have been out and about. I might get some later to go in a crumble with some apples. I usually pick a margarine tub full for my son too, but I will check first what shift he is on, so that I can drop them off at a suitable time.
Another beautiful day here and it feels quite warm. We have bright blue sky and lots of sunshine. I did a quick bit of tidying of the pyracantha earlier, but workmen are working at a neighbour's house. They had pneumatic drills going just after 8 a.m and then while I was clipping, a large skip and a digger turned up, so I decided to come indoors.
Our local school starts back on Monday 2nd. I will probably wait until the following week and work with the same teacher, but a different set of children, -the new Year 4. I don't know many of them at all, so a new set of names to learn ;-) :-|

Morning all,
Quite bright here this morning and 14 degrees pc says mostly cloudy. The sky is hazey but you can see a bit of blue through it.
Ann one would think it will heal better without a dressing on it so I'm pleased you don't have to wear one indoors now. Better to let the air get to it which will make it heal quicker. You may be better to prop yourself up in bed so your nose dos'nt get so blocked.

Good morning all 8 degrees here so far but it is early. Since having the op I have woken early usually because I can't breath properly, it is like when you have a cold and affects both sides of my nose. I can't blow it to clear it and anyway it is more that the side that was operated on is swollen. It was worse this morning so I got up early. I presume it is because of the irritating of the wound by removing the stitches. Mel I actually am not to wear the dressing indoors and only if I really want to hide it when I go out. It is an ordinary pink dressing that has to be taped on, not easy to do she had a problem with holding it in place

You sound pleased with the results of todays examination and I hope it soon appears better with the healing. It sounds like it has turned out quite well. Are these dressings you've been given better than the white blob?
Hope you feel more like yourself tomorrow Vera its not nice when you are under par and even worse when you're on your own like Ann and myself.
I did'nt go to Stuarts tonight as I rang and he said tomorrow would e better for him so thats when its going to be and I think it will be fish and chips the fish being haddock.

I've been wondering how you got on Anng and at least it should be more comfortable now and you know how it looks! FIL looked as if he'd been thumped at first but things soon settled as yours will. It's good to have been reassured it all looks fine as well. Let's hope you don't have trouble with the next appointment and that they email you as promised.

That's good you've got that bit over Anng ,it will probably begin to heal better with the blob taken off and it sounds as if she was pleased with how it was looking . Fingers crossed they can sort the appointment out for you without all the hassle you had last time .

Well Okonkwo was not there, I saw the person who was on the letter I had Maryam Nowghani (spec 2) She was very nice and very efficient. He must have known he would not be there as according to her he is not there Wednesdays. However, he could not have done any more than she did. She took out the stitches and soaked off the dressing and dried blood She put a dressing on to wear home so I could get used to it and gave me more dressings for if I want to wear a dressing when out. It is very red and bruised the skin, I assume the grafted skin is a bit grey but she said it looked fine, it is swollen but it still looks more or less like my nose. It does feel better than with all the stitches and the white blob. I have to go back in two weeks, the farce starts as soon as I leave ENT to go to reception to book another appointment. The girls on the desks there were unable to make an appointment for some reason, they did try. Then the senior one said she would have to refer it to ENT booking.
I said Oh no and she actually said 'afraid so'. I explained the problems I had and she said she was going to email them and tell them to email me with the appointment. So, here we go again.
Looking in a mirror the place on my nose reminds me of photos you see of elderly people who have been beaten. Still it will heal I think and is an improvement on the white blob

It’s very hot here as well Mandy though every so often there’s a bit of a breeze which makes it more pleasant.
Thank you for sending the pictures Mel. It’s lovely to see the swallows and Robbie. Your girls seem to be laying well and I bet you enjoyed the extra large egg.
I’ve been thinking of you since 3 pm AnnG. There’s nothing worse than a long wait when you are feeling nervous so I hope you were seen on time and the news is all good.
I’m feeling a little better today though still not right and I’m tired now and resting my back again. I have done quite a lot today but won’t be doing much over the next 2 days. Tomorrow we will have our usual Thursday coffee with friends and by the time we’re home and have had lunch I know I won’t feel like starting any h/w. On Friday I am going on a Ladies Club trip to the Gardener’s World Autumn Fait at Audley End. It should be a relaxing day. There’s a coach there and back and it’s only about 30 miles from us so not a long journey.
I did some gardening this afternoon and found an elephant hawk moth caterpillar - at least that’s what I think it was. It was on the earth under a shrub and may have been looking for somewhere to burrow down and become a pupa. I’m not sure what plants it would have been eating in our garden as I don’t think we have any of its favourites growing.
Having said that I know it likes fuchsia and we do have a fuchsia like plant in a pot, but we don’t think it is a fuchsia. OH took a photo a couple of days ago and I must send it round in case one of you can name it for me.
Although our neighbour no longer cooks with grandchildren on Zoom so we don’t get something every week, he enjoys cooking and gives us goodies every now and then. Yesterday he knocked with 4 pieces of Lemon and Blackberry Cake. We had 1 each last night and another 1 at lunchtime today. It was delicious.
I hoped that OH might make a cup of tea but I suspect he has dozed off so it had better be me making it.

Afternoon All,
A dull one with rain forecast soon and 20 degrees but feels cooler. OH had a webinar to discuss a case earlier and is out at a meeting this afternoon. I hope I get some motivation to catch up with some jobs while he's out.
I hope it is good news today AnnG. I expect you will be glad to get rid of that bulky dressing too. It's good Cynth is able to take you.
Yes we are ok thank you Mandy, just busy chasing our tails. lol. You grew up in such a lovely spacious house with a big garden to play in. So handy for the town too and I love the name it used to have. :-D It's amazing that you live close by and that you, your son and now grandchildren all went to the same school. I often pass my teenage home that has a similar sized garden, and that I loved. Now it is covered in scaffold as they are completely changing all the front of the house and building rooms above the garage.
Thanks for the photos Mel. The baby Swallows are so cute! A good lot of eggs from the girls now and a double yolk too! Nice photos of Robbie and are you tempting him onto your hand like the previous one?
i was busy yesterday, 3 phone calls to Asda as my attempts to log on eventually led to me being blocked from their site. All to do with their new security Cloudflare! I tried all sorts including changing password and waiting overnight to see if it worked.....NO! They emailed me a complex set of instructions what to do next in case that didn't work and they are way beyond my IT skills! There is no problem on another browser I tried that doesn't use Cloudflare security and why is a customer expected to sort out something that the company has changed anyway? It seems my choice is to keep swapping to the other browser to do my orders for now or to order from Sainsbury's or another supermarket instead. Annoying that I have just paid for my annual delivery pass.
Well I got some Alliums from the factory shop yesterday, all one kind, so that will be something new in the garden next year to add to the three we have. OH did more weeding yesterday and I am impressed how he's stuck at it and made such an impact now. He's getting a lot of aching in his legs, even at night time and we are wondering if it is more than gardening stiffness and more due to the statins he recently started taking. He should be ble to tell once he eases off doing so much in the garden.
Better get on again now. We still haven't had the promised £10 a day compensation for the 4 days we were without the internet!

Afternoon all,
Phew its warm here just turned the fan on .
Anng hope you get on OK at the hospital appointment this afternoon.
Lovely photos Mel and a nice lot of eggs been laid by your girls ,I bet the double one went down treat. Went out to QD for a few bits we needed a spray bottle to spray some patio magic on the front path where the moss is growing and then home again ,now its nearly lunch time and I don't know where the morning has gone.
Vera hope your feeling a little better now ,don't try and do to much and set yourself back again .
No Ann yesterday ,hope she's OK.

Morning all,
Cloudy here this morning and 16 degrees pc saying expect light rain about 3pm. What a miserabl;e summer we've had down here in Devon. Nothing really to speak of but I know some of you have had hot days.
Thinking of you today Ann and I do hope its healed ok under the dressing. Is Cynth taking you again?
I must ring for my pills today as I meant to do it yesterday but the holiday threw me out.
