Good morning all
It looks beautiful outside, sunny and bright, but it’s only 1 degree.
I hope you are feeling better now Mandy.
I did just half an hour in the garden yesterday. It was depressing seeing all the plants that have died. I am planning on a h/w day today and hope OH will give me a hand.as I would like to get quite a bit done. I hate admitting it but I can’t whizz round the way I used to.
Have a good day everyone

I did print out my TV licence and know it runs out on 30th Nov. every year but this time when I paid it it was a little late and they did'nt send me a reply like usual. You can do a check to make susre you have one which is what I did as it makes you think, did I pay it? I had looked on my bank statements too and the money had come out.
Anyway we have had a beautiful sunny day here all day but now its gone down it feels realy chilly and pc is saying rain tonight thne mostl clo0udy and 7 degrees.
The mower man rang today to say they were coming this afternoon to pick up both mowers. A nice young man came and winched them both into the back of his big van and took the deck of the old one too to put that on when its mended. That one has to have a new started and I think the solinoid has gone on the newer mower but he did take the grass box and brushes off before he took it. I rang BIL and told him they were coming so he said he would be down at the weekend to start a bit of clearing in the garage.
I did some casting this morning and cleaned them up but have only painted a couple of them as they were still a bit et and the paint dos'nt take then.
You'll be glad the dryer is mended Anng perhaps now we will get some nicer weather so you won't need it. Ha ha ha.
Nice to see Mandy drop in and I hope it is the pills making her fatigued and not covid if she tests again tonight. Sending love. <3
Just going to cook now, Iv'e done the tatoes and now I am going to cook liver and bacon with some broccoli.

Mandy have you read the information paper that is in with your pills? It may just be your body getting used to the new medication.

Morning all,
6 degrees here this morninv and we have some lovely sunshine but there are a few black looking clouds about . The last couple of days I have felt very worn out and tired so I thought I'd better do a covid test this morning but that was negative ,when I was talking to son and he said lots of people at the school had tested negative in the morning then tested again at night and it was positive so I think I'll do another test tonight to make sure . The doctor rang this morning and my blood test was OK so that was good ,I never thought to ask if these new blood pressure tablets would make me tired but the pharmacy lady said she would ring and see how I'm getting on with the new tablets so I'll ask her ,I always seem to have trouble with new tablets when I first had my arthritis tablets I had to try lots before they found one I could take that didn't give me indigestion.
Mel we pay our tv license every three months and the last letter we had giving our payment due dates has the phone number 0300 790 6116 it's saying that is their main number.

Mel it looks like this is the query phone number. 0300 790 6165
Is there a phone number on the piece that you printed out? Or the do not reply email. You do need to know it is not a scam and you do need to sort it out.

Good morning Mel, AnnG and all
4 degrees but with a strong breeze from the North so it feels like -1. It’s also raining again.
Mel, are you sure that TV licence thing isn’t a scam? To get in touch with them, go onto their website and use the Contact Us form. I think there is also a telephone number and postal address for them.
We have a slot at the tip at 12.15 so the highlight of my day is going to be a trip out to get rid of lots of rubbish. Otherwise there’s nothing planned.

Vera at least sub titles give us some laughs. I can see Shells from showers but ‘cabbages’?
Yes they have two boys aged 7 and 10 in July. Mum has always been hands on with them and their social life is mainly with her sisters and brother and parents who all live near poor grandson only has his brother and wife near. I think they will continue to get on ok he was just too quiet for her. He is a good dad though and they have amicably sorted out the finance. She stays in the house until next year I think the. It will be sold he is living with his brother. They get on well.

Mel, I buy Elmlea all the time because of the long shelf life. The blue pack can be used the same as you would use double cream. I find it very useful to keep in the fridge then it’s always handy if I fancy cooking a recipe that needs double cream. I’m glad the trip to the dentist was OK.
You had a good deal on your jacket AnnG. Why is it when you see something you’d like to buy they only have it in very small or very large sizes? Depending on the make I need a 12 or a 14 and they always seem to sell out first. I detest shopping at the best of times and really, really hate shopping for clothes for me. It must be a difficult time for your grandson and his wife. I think you said they had 2 little boys. I hope they can sort everything out as amicably as possible and keep life as normal as possible for the children.
Today has been mostly sunny and dry but, my goodness, it’s been blowing a hooly. I washed clothes and bedding and nearly got blown over hanging it out. Twice I had to rescue one of OH’s shirts from a flower bed and the sheets were flapping like sails. I thought the whole rotary line would take off at any minute. It was all dry just after lunch and smells all fresh. It makes a change from the previous few weeks when I’ve had to dry everything indoors.
Yesterday our neighbour brought us in 2 big chunks of Guinness gingerbread as he had been cooking for a charity tea. Today he has been cooking via Zoom with his grandchildren overseas so he has brought us in blueberry yoghurt cake. We are so lucky with our neighbours in our little Close.
I’ve felt quite strange today - very tired and sort of light headed. It’s a bit like the early stage of a migraine.but it hasn’t developed. I think I’ll have a quiet evening and an early night.
Sending a wave to say hallo to everyone who posts from time to time ~~~~~~~~~~~. Hope you are all OK.
:-D :-D. :-D @ AnnG. I look forward to the higher cabbages and hope the heavy shells contain some pearls

They were married in 2012 but were together two or three years before that. They still get on, still are friends but he is very quiet and introverted and doesn’t like crowds and big parties while she is over the top the exact opposite very extrovert and loud.
Well according to the sub titles on the weather forecast we are going to get slightly higher cabbages tomorrow then cabbages will drop later in the week and we will get heavy shells.??

O dear I suppose they were'nt getting on well then Anng. Had they been together long?
Popped into Em's and took her the flowers and she still has the ones from her birthday only one vase of tulips going over which was in the window. Gave her two big leeks and kept three smaller ones for myself. Asked he how she did those cheesey leeks and she said she frys them and adds double cream and lots of grated cheese andbakes them in the oven. They were so nice but I did'nt buy any double crem. I nearly did but bought that elmles stuff instead as it has a longer shelf life.

£23 is cheap for a check up. doesn't the dentist clean your teeth Mel. I think our check ups are £35. Anyway good you don't need anything doing. And nice to have a good spend in a different supermarket. I had two ready meals last night, well one ready meal, fish pie and half a ready cauliflower cheese. Both were really nice. I needed to post two correspondent magazines this morning so needed to get them weighed etc at the post office. It was raining when I got up but by 10 o'clock it was looking dry so I went to town. gosh it was sooo windy. good job I am over weight or I would have blown away. It was really difficult to keep my balance walking for the bus although it was ok in town.
I posted the packets in the main post office then had a coffee, then just a wander some time back friend and I both bought a pair of grey checked trousers in M&S I have only worn mine once as they are a bit thin for cold weather. last week in M&S Cheltenham they had a sale on and they had the matching jacket but oniy had sizes 14 and 22. today In Gloucester they had one of the jackets only, and it was an 18. I tried it on and it fitted so I bought it. £22 instead of £39.50. So I had a good morning. got home just before two.
Just had a message from eldest grandson to say he and his wife have jointly applied for divorce. Should be finalised in 6 months.

All went well at the dentists nothing hazd to be done and I paid £23 odd pound just to sit in his chair and him have a look at my teeth and gums. I could have done that myself!!! Then I went into the town and got myself two more house keys cut as I can't find oh's anywhere They cost me £4 each and the front door one dos'nt go in the outside of the door but works on the inside same as the one I already had.
Then I went into Lidl and bought everything I wanted I can't get in Asda like cheese coleslaw which is cut nice and fine and Asda's is so thick I can't get my teeth through it. I bought fish finger and two stew and dumpling meals a lasagne and some southern fried chicken which has gone in the freezer. 6 packs of dark choc digestive biscuits, other biscuits two plastic easter eggs with sweets inside for the boys as one of them dos'nt eat chocolate, some flowers for Em as I forgot her birthday last week and other things. Came out of there £50 lighter too. So I have had a very good spend up today and feel better for it knowing I have some quick meals for tonight and in the freezer enough choccy biccies to last me weeks and weeks and now I am going to have something to eat as I am hungry with all the walking I have been doing. Not had anythig yet only a milky coffee before I went out.

Good morning all. Ooh Mel. I know how you fell. Hope all goes well at the dentist, not sure if it is a check up or an appointment to do something but hope it is not as bad as you are expecting. 11 degrees here and lashing down with rain at the moment. I want to go in to town to post a couple of things but if the rain keeps up that will have to wait until Thursday.

I put the heating on at 7.30am but I was up before then so it felt cold in here.
Must get on lots to do before the dentists, wish me luck please. I think its going to be a nasty one this time.

Sounds like you really enjoyed your walk by te river with hubby Vera. Nice to get out once in a while to take in nature. Hope your swans come back. Perhaps they were eating somewhere else as its Sunday!!
It clouded over just after I posted this morning and now its all grey and raining again. Pc says 11 degrees and rain showers so nothing new there then.
I have done a bit of casting this morning and most came out ok, I have also put more layers on new moulds of bread and washed my hair. Next to tackle the bed and do a bit of ironing so I have nice ironed things for tomorrow and finish wrapping up the little parcel I have to send off.
