There is one heck of a storm going on here. The thunder is so loud and the rain is falling down. I don’t remember that being forecast.
I’ve been sitting up on the bed with pillows arranged behind me as that’s the only way I can get comfortable at the moment. The kitchen floor badly needs washing but it will have to wait for another day.
Mandy, can you phone your local parcels office and ask if your note is likely to be a scam? If the note is telling you to go to the distribution centre to pay and pick up your parcel it’s probably genuine but if it is asking you to send money somewhere before you can get delivery it’s probably a scam.
I’d better go downstairs and try and find something useful to do. I can’t laze on the bed all day.

Mandy if the card left is asking you to pay money it is probably a scam so ignore it. If it says the parcel is at the post office distribution place it may not be a scam. If it is underpaid we usually have to go to the post office place to pay.

Morning all.
Dry here so I've got bedding on the line ,think we should have rain later .
Glad your over the bug Anng and feeling better.
I had a note from the postman saying they couldn't deliver a parcel as the poster hadn't paid the postage and there was postage to pay ,I haven't ordered anything so don't know if its a scam thing .
Lots of jets about this morning ,oh my goodness the screeching from them so noisy.
Hope you haven't over done it in ths garden Vera and your backs ok this morning .
Mel it will be a shame if they can't use your field after BIL getting it all ship shape for them ,I think it looks like a showery weekend for the coranation.
Going to pot up my toms and cucumbers and I may get the runner beans in some pots

Good morning Vera and Mel 13 degrees here, PC says showers but it is dry so far. It does look like the weekend is not going to be good for street parties which is a shame. Especially Mel when your village has the opportunity to use the field.
I slept well last night and feel fine this morning. Bedding is in the wash but I am not washed and dressed yet so I had better get on. Looking at the sky I don't think it will be gardening weather here either.

Morning Vera and all,
We have some blue sky between whitey grey big clouds and pc is saying heavy rain soon and 11 degrees but whn I started writing this it said strong winds. Now it saying partly sunny so I guess it dos'nt really know so gives us everything it can think of and it must be right somewhere along those lines.
I think I told you we have a party on Sunday up the village hall, a picnic and they want to use the field if its not wet, well I don't think they will want to sit on blankets etc on this wet grass we have here but we will see what its like when the day comes.

Good morning all
I hope you are all well this morning. I slept better last night but my back is still very painful this morning. It’s grey and wet at the moment and the forecast is rain on and off all day so at least I’ve got a good excuse not to do any gardening. Not sure what I’ll be doing. Everything that needs doing seems to involve lots of bending and stretching.. I might be reading a lot today :-)

I’m sorry you felt poorly last night and couldn’t sleep AnnG. That sort of night leaves you feeling so drained the next day. I hope you are feeling better now. It’s good that you don’t have to wait long for a new appointment.
I felt OK but slept badly as well so struggled to get myself moving this morning. Eventually I got showered and then we met friends in town for coffee. I stopped to vote on the way back and then after lunch we both went to work in the garden. I knew I would have to be careful so worked as much as possible at the table so I didn’t have to keep bending and stretching. I did lots of repotting of plants, got rid of some old, moss-ridden herbs and potted up some new ones and generally had a sort out. Of course I got carried away and stupidly stayed out there for two and a half hours which has not done my back any good. I could hardly walk when I came back in. My own stupid fault. OH is cooking dinner while I am resting up. I had got it all prepared so he hasn’t got much to do.
Stopped at this point as OH called me to eat.
Fancy leaving your front door open Mel. Easy done I suppose. Do keep an eye on that ash tree. If it’s starting to drop branches it could get a bit dangerous.
Yesterday we were supposed to pick up our friends at 5 pm to get them to the hospital for 6 pm. 3.40 I had a call from the wife. The hospital had rung to ask them to be there at 5 pm. She told them she would have to check with the driver and asked me if she should cancel the appointment but I said we’d get them there. What a rush! OH had to change out of some dirty working clothes and get the car out while I went round locking up, then it was a dash through town to our friends’ house. They were waiting outside their house and we got the chap out of his wheelchair and into the car and strapped in, drove the 20 miles and arrived at 4.50 which I thought was pretty good. Then OH and I had to wait around for an hour while they were seen. There’s a book stall there and I picked up a book for a £1. It was a hardback Ruth Rendell book and looked as though it had never been opened so I was well pleased. We got home at 7.15.
I hope we all manage to have a good sleep tonight. Sweet dreams.

Just back from Holsworthy and having a COT and a doughnut. Spent lotsBought chicken pellets, corn, seaweed feed and 6 packets of seeds. Had a bacon sandwich for lunch out and then went in the factory shop and bought myself two tops one vest type and one long sleeved pale blue one both cotton.
BIL came while I was out and dropped me off a load of wild bird food, seed and dried mealworms and fat sticks so that has saved me a lot of money o and niger seed.
Before I went out I tried the new backdoor key to make sure it worked so I went out the front door and round to the back and did the key and it was ok. had to make sure I had my bag in the car with my keys in and promptly went off. As I was waiting for my bacon sandwish in Holsworthy my phone rang and it was BIL asking where I was so I told him and he said I had left the front door open!!!!!! so he shut it for me. He still left all the plastic tubs of bird food outside and he could have put them inside but perhaps he did'nt lie to with me being out.

Good morning all, a bit misty with sun and 8 degrees. I had a really bad night awake for most of it. I felt really nauseous, and still do a bit. Also of course feel very tired. But mainly have had to cancel my hearing clinic appointment which was so hard to get. It involved me going in to town on the bus then a 20-30 minute walk to the hospital and back afterwards. so I would not be fit enough to do that. But mainly if I have a bug I don't want to pass it on in close contact. I am hoping they will send me another appointment fairly soon.
So today is going to be a lounging around feeling sorry for myself one I think. Better find a good book. I feel very tired.

I was 12 almost 13 for the Queen's Coronation, we did have a TV. Black and white of course and a small screen but I remember watching it. I don't think we had a street party like we did for VE day but I think there was a carnival and I think my Dad was something to do with organising it.
It has been beautifully sunny all day here but I had to walk to the hairdresser so didn't want to tire myself out with gardening so I did a few admin jobs on the computer. And after walking round and back I am trying not to do too much because I have a longer walk tomorrow to get to the hearing clinic at the hospital.

I was 4 when the Queens coranation took place and dad, mum, nan and granddad went to london and parked and the coach came past with the happy couple in it. I can remember looking out of the car window and seeing the Queen and the Duke as thye past by us.
We did have a tv and as Vera said it was a 12 inch screen and the tv was floor standing in my nans front room. We lived with nan and granddad so we saw it on the tv too.
Swans sit on the nest for 32 to 45 days before hatching takes place. Gwyn she won't sit tight till she has layed all the eggs she is going to lay. My Pheasent girls are not coming now only Phil arrives for corn so I expect they are sitting tight now on goodness knows how many eggs. They don't stick to one nest and will lay in each others nest so they could be sitting on 15 eggs at a time but not all hatch and they are useless mothers and mostly all thier young are pinched by other birds or preditors.

I spoke too soon. The sun disappeared, it looks very grey and it feels as though there’s rain in the air :-(
It’s good to hear news of your swans Gwyn. Enjoy your school trip tomorrow. Yes, I remember the last coronation. We didn’t have a TV but I was invited to a school friend’s house where their family of 6, several of their neighbours and I crowded round their set which was tiny. Just as exciting was the whole school going to a cinema for a special showing of the film about the conquest of Everest.

A lovely bright morning again, although the weather forecaster warned that the wind would pick up later today. As it's coming from the east, that could mean it's quite chilly, if that happens. We were rather concerned about our local swans, as the female was showing no inclination to stay with the eggs, at one point. One day, when I walked that way, neither parent was anywhere to be seen :-| :-0 but they seem to have got their act together now and the female has been firmly on the nest each time I've seen her, so we are hopeful that all will be well. I've no idea just when she started to stay on the nest, so we will just have to wait and see when they hatch. Another school trip tomorrow, which will be mostly outdoors, so I'm hoping for a fine day. On the days when I go into school to volunteer, I don't switch the laptop on until at least lunch time, when I come home and then it depends whether or not I have to go into town shopping. That now requires a walk of about half a mile to the bus stop, so it all adds to how long everything takes :-| Friday, the school is holding a street party style event for the children in celebration of the coronation. They have been invited to wear red, white and blue, so there will probably be a whole range of outfits, from football tops to party dresses :-D Do any of you recall the last coronation? I know our street got together to have a party, held in the school hall, I believe. We didn't have a television then, so I have no visual memory of the event.

Mornig Vera and all,
Brightish morning so far with hazey blue sky and pc says 10 degrees and mostly cloudy. Nothing there to make you feels good then is there?
Booked myself in for the picnic on Sunday so I am hoping its a good day for that event and we can get on the field as BIL has made it look nice up there.
Could I go to sleep last night? not on your Nellie. I seemed to lay there for ages and hear my heart beating. I had been dropping off in front of the telly but cleaning my teeth etc seems to wake me up.
Go steady in the garden Vera if you go out there you don't want to hurt your back again and not be able to do things you want to. Nice to win a little plant last night and good they have the tea sorted out and its not down to you each time.

Good morning all
It looks as though it’s going to be a sunny day though not as warm as the last couple of days. It’s a good gardening day but my back is troubling me again so I might not get much done.
Mandy, our friend has MS and is now badly disabled. His wife usually manages with his hospital appointments but her car broke down and has gone for repair. Other friends would help but their cars don’t have big enough boots to take his wheelchair. We’re happy to do what we can.
Yesterday evening we had a good talk at the Ladies Club on the history of Framlingham and its castle. It was well illustrated and the speaker talked without notes and had a nice clear voice. The committee seem to have got the tea rota properly organised at last and I won a little indoor plant in the raffle so it was a good evening all round.
I’m being very lazy today. I’m usually up by about 7.30 but OH made me a cup of tea and I’ve been lounging in bed. Better get up now. Have a good day whatever you’re doing.
