Afternoon Ladies,
We've just had a shower of rain, but it's stopped now and the sun is out. It had rained in the night too so too wet outside to do anything.
I was still awake at 3.00am with the usual pain so got up and had a small glass of milk with some paracetamol and that seemsed to do the trick and I got off to sleep. Window cleaner turned up before we were even out of bed this morning so no shower watch needed today Mandy! :-D There was panic on OH's part though as he needed to unlock the side gate for him, so it was like the Bruce Forsyth programme where there was a race to do something like put a wetsuit on! I've never seen him move so fast to get his joggers on!! lol. He then nipped to fetch the bin in as well before the neighbour took ours instead of his own, which he tends to do with the bin men putting them together even though ours has our number on it.
AnnG it looks like it was a good job you chased up your appointment and I'm glad you managed ok to use your phone.
That's good you got an appointment and that the doc is doing another blood test Mandy to see if it shows anything. I think they are still learning about all the longer effects of covid. Hopefully you will soon feel better and less tired.
Mel that's a lot of tooth trouble you are having. Is that all the loose teeth that have come out now? It sounds like you need a stronger plate doesn't it? You haven't been making rock cakes have you?
Are you ordering your tablets online now only I notice since ordering mine online the last 2 times that you can't order them a few days early like you can by handing in a paper prescription. I did that before covid so I have 2-3 weeks extra ones now that will tide me over if there are any problems as we get supply shortages here and often have to wait a few days while the pharmacy sources something. I would find it stressful and worrying to run out of either of my two tablets. I would talk to your doctor and explain you are running out due to delays and see if he can issue a few extra next time.
OH had his NHS 5 year health check with the nurse yesterday. His BP was up too high although it was ok when I checked it a fortnight ago and when the chemist did it. He has to do a record of a week's readings and hand it in. The first one this morning is back to normal which is no surprise as he always gets white coat syndrome and he breaks out in a sweat if a needle is involved. :-0

Gave up on town as it was raining and with roadworks and temporary lights I couldn't get across the local road for school traffic so I came home again. I didn't need anything in town anyway.
Just phoned the hospital booking office and queried why I hadn't heard, explained that the appointment was cancelled and I was promised a replacement. I was not talking to the person I had before but I then said I have not heard any more but not sure if I should have and she said, "yes you should I will chase that up for you and see rebeccas when she comes back ". s not sure if Rebecca is off or what but hopefully that will jog a memory.

Good morning all, 10 degrees here at 7am but looks like it is going to be a dull day, possibly rain as well the sky is a bit threatening. I may pop into town later, I'll see how I feel, if I can be bothered! Not a lot to do in the garden at the moment just general pottering. No point hanging around waiting for phone calls I can pick any up on the answer phone. Heard last night that 'we' are expecting another great grandchild (for me), grandchild for daughter in September. Daughter will be on her way home later today. :-)

Evening all,
Its been a nice sunny day here ,got all my washing dry and I did a little bit of cutting back in ths garden . I got a doctors appointment this morning about feeling so tired and light headed ,it was a doctors call back the receptionist said you need another blood test . When the doctor called I explained how I felt and she said my liver, kidney and sugars were OK but my Hemoglobin level was low which could explain why I feel light headed at times because of less oxygen in the blood so it might also be a blood deficiency so I have a blood test booked for Friday and she will test for that and Vitamin B and hope it shows something so I can get some treatment for it ,she said covid symptoms can last for over a year .
Anng I hope you can get your appointment sorted and get somebody on the phone that you can understand and hear ok.
Ann it made me chuckle when you said you both had a lookout for the widow cleaner coming while you each had a shower ,I had a vision of you at the window saying your OK to get in the shower no wait here comes a van ,no your OK its not him lol
Vera if I lived nearer I would make you a cake lol ,when I make the next lot for family I'll tease you with a photo lol Hope the club meeting goes OK tonight and everyone enjoys your cups tea.
Oh no Mel your not having much luck with your teeth what with one dropping out and now breaking your dentures . You should be OK eating your mince and mash tonight .

Come 5.15pm and the sun disappeared to be followed be drk clouds and a few spots of rain and there's a cold wid now too and its supposed to be 12 degrees but dos'nt feel like it.
It will be good when you only have to do both clubs teas once a year but I wonder how many of the others will be ill and you need to step in. I hope its a good meeting tonight and that you win a raffle prize.
Its bad enough trying to get through to a lot of places now Anng so I hope you canget through to someone who speaks clearly and loudly so you can hear them.
You got lots done in the garden Ann and I am sure the Camelia will benifit from going into another pot. My one down Prickerly Bottom is a picture this year but try as I may I cannot get a pic with the true colour. It comes out with white on the petals when the suns on it and I even tried going up closer but still the same.
I did get the drivers seat and door done on the car but my back was aching so did'nt get as much done as I wanted but theres always tomorrow. I did clear some junk out of it and put all my rubber gloves in a box and popped those in te lounge where its cooler. I bought up all Mole Valley had when they decided to stop stocking them so had twenty pairs at the time and now I am down to 8 pairs.
Mince and mash for me tonight with spring greens. Did I say my teeth broke again on Saturday night? Well they did so I tried to eat last night with the old pair without much success and they hurt my gum so I had lunch today with the broken set in and cut my toast up into squares as there's no teeth on the front of this plate but I can eat stuff on the back teeth.
Well its just starting to get dark here so I better not forget my little solar lights I have in the bedroom during the day and put them in the bathroom at night so I can see where I am going when I get up for the loo.

i did an hour and a half in the garden clearing another border and some pots so that looks better. I tried emailing the booking office but the email was returned not deliverable. Which is strange as it is actually given on the appointment letters. I am giving them until tomorrow when I will have to fight my way through the phone and hope I can hear whoever answers. It is so easy for those of you with good hearing I am so envious when I see somebody has sorted thngs on the phone. anyway I will have a go but I suspect the appointments are few and far between and maybe my appointment was cancelled because the person I need to see was ill. Covid is still around here in the hospitals and also flue and norovirus. A couple of wards were closed last week.
Have a good meeting this evening Vera.

Good afternoon
It was beautiful this morning, more like May than March, but it has come over quite black now. I’m having to keep a close eye on my washing and have brought some bits in.
It’s a bit of a busy day today and tonight we have a club meeting at which we are doing teas and organising the raffle. I say “we” but I think OH’s contribution might be pouring a few cups of tea. We have disposable cups so I can’t even get him washing up. You might remember that last year I did the teas several times for both clubs I belong to but they have now got a proper rota organised so I’m just down for once a year at each club.
Must get on. Have a good day and evening. “See” you all tomorrow :-)

Morning Folks,
Dry but cloudy here and 13 degrees. The window cleaner was due today and we'd held off showering till he'd been, as windows are wide open when we shower. I don't want him getting an eyeful do I. ;-). In the end we each kept a lookout for his van while the other showered, but we never know what day he will come now, so it will be the same every morning till he comes or get up really early.
You've got a lot done already taday Mel. My car could do with a wsh and and I notice under my boot lid the channels where the water finds it's way out has green in it and it should be white so I need to get an old toothbrush in action.
AnnG I would just phone now to see if you can find a date out. You could say you need to know ASAP so you can sort out transport with someone. Might they have just posted a letter with the new date, in which case they should be able to tell you. I think we have to chase things a bit now with the NHS in the state it is as it's human nature to deal with people who do that first.
We called in Waterstones in the Next building this morning for OH to get a voucher and card for a head teacher who is retiring. When OH couldn't drive after his first cataract op and I drove him to his meetings, I took some beading with me to sit in the car to do and this Head teacher wouldn't hear of it and insisted I use his office and even made me a cup of tea. We had a bacon bap and decaf lattes in the Costa there and OH had a look at the books while I looked at the Next sale. We then went to the big Co-op to get the few bits Asda didn't deliver.
The sun's come out now so I might go and tidy the last Hosta and get this new Camellia potted which I still haven't done. OH is catching up with some phone calls before he is out again later.

Been up the post van, fed the chickens, cleaned the pond filter and washed up and done a bit of tidying on the hostas. My orchids are coming up in the hostas again this year they make it look like they have coloured flowers on them. All self sown. I think I may go out and have a go at the car interior as I seems to have mould on the seats. Probably from thye rain we've been having getting in the car with wet clothes and not being used much it has'nt had time to dry out. Iv'e got the windows open today to see if that helps and I shall go and clean the windows and have a general clear out.

Morning Anng and all,
10 degrees here and cloudy but I don't think there's any wind. Have to go out early for the post van today with two little parcels then the rest of the day is mine.
Sorry you woke at 5.30am and cold'nt get backl to sleep. Don't know what time I got up fo rthe bathroom but went right off to sleep again and slept till 8am.
The minuet I turned the phone on this morning it bleeped at me. This is getting really annoying now so I think I shall l have to ring either BT or someone. I can't keep turning it off as I rely on it if I am out in the garden as most people ring me on that now.

Afternoon Everyone,
We had more rain last night but it is lovely and sunny today. I saw my first Brimstone butterfly in the garden thhis morning and we had a visitor in the garden while we had lunch. It's a pure white cat we have only seen once before, so it looks like it has taken over Hello Kitty's patch! We haven't seen the 3 legged cat since Christmas so are wondering if he's ok.
Oh AnnG why do things seem to happen at once, now it's a bulb in your lamp gone! Yes I've changed to more things in pots as they are easier to look after and I think you actually see more of smaller plants and flowers when they are higher up.
It sounds like M is doing OK Vera, but it will be good when they have fitted the heart monitor and got more results. They wouldn't have let her go home if they were concerned.
You have reminded me how my patch of aconites have spread when I saw them yesterday. In fact there are a few clumps of things that have outrun their space and need reducing in size. You did well finding out how to download those instructions for your ipad. I know if I buy something new it often stays in the box a few days till I can face the instructions!! Dinner sounds nice.
About the contraption Vera and Mandy and yes it is a spinning scrubber Mandy. It one you can adjust the angle of head on and has an extending pole. I just used CIF on the bath and basin and it certainly saved all that bending and my back to do the majority of the bath. I could have swapped to a small brush for the fiddly bits, but just used a cloth as normal this time. I think it will be good on the floor tiles in the kitchen where it can get a bit greasy just in front of th cooker. The steam mop I got rid of made no impact and the flash mop that has wipes isn't perfect on that area either. It looks clean enough but when you walk on it your slippers stick a bit!!
Your bakes sound really nice Mandy and I bet your kitchen smelled lovely cooking them. I bet the family will love them as home made is usually best. I wouldn't be surprised if covid was still affecting you, but as you say the blood test may show if it's anything else. We think our memories have been worse since covid as it seemed to happen to us both at the same time. I think the lighter mornings have helped me feel a bit more active, but we are often in bed early now.
Mel doesn't your heart sink when your car won't start. Was it the battery nearly flat do you think as it did eventually start? If it's a diesel and it chugged a few moments when it started, it might be a failing glowplug. No doubt your man will be able to sort it for you, but use your battery charger first and see if it starts up smoothly once the battery is charged as it may be that if it sounded nearly flat. I do much less mileage now but do a little detour on my way to the shop or back at times to keep the battery charged. If not I don't use 6th gear, so the revs are a bit higher to put more charge in. I expect trouble from my battery now it is nearly 9 years old.
Today's food delivery had 6 things out of stock and a sub I gave the driver back, so we'll be shopping in the morning. I find I need to order some things well before we run out now as the shop's stocks seem to run out as well.

O my gosh that time was way out poor V having told her it was 1 and not 11. I bet she's pleased to be home though even if she does look tired.
As to the things getting more complicated it happens with everything these days. Why can't they just keep some things the same for us older people. My tete e tete are just starting to go over and I am picking off a few heads each day now and once they are completely over they will go back behind the shed.
I have done a bit of painting this morning but not a lot, put another coat on some moulds and cleared some things out of a draw in the spare room. Done the big pond filter too. I think I have a frog about somewhere in the garden as I keep hearing it but I hav'nt come across it yet. I hear it mostly at night when its dark but doing the filter I heard it during the day. Must go down and feed my fish and perhaps have a good look in the pond.
I better go and get myself something to eat as all I have had today so far is a milky coffee this morning and a glass of water with a pill.
Had one short sharp shower this morning and then the sun came out again and its been out all day so far. Its 11 degrees and the pc says cloudy.

It has actually been a nice day today, a bit cloudy at times but it has stayed dry and is 15 degrees, very warm when the sun is out. I have washed off some of the pots that got plastered with dirt when the power wash was done. I was going to leave it for Jake but I decided to get it done and then I moved the pot off what should be the hosta bed, although I am not sure the hostas will have survived this year with the power washing. I also cut back some more ivy, I am sure as soon as I come in it puts a spurt on, there always seems to be plenty needing cutting. then I just generally pottered. I have spotted the next part of the garden for a blitz so hope for another dry day.
Vera, pleased to hear that M doesn't seem too bad. Oh dear I bet V was not popular having got the time of the Dr's appointment wrong.
I do hate having to get used to new tech stuff, sometimes wonder who writes the instructions.
The garden centre we went to yesterday had loads of really nice plants. I have to keep telling myself 'for pots only'. And have to resist quite a lot. One thing I spotted and still ight get one later was a white non climbing clematis. I reckon that would work in a pot. It was £10.99 can't remember the name of it though.
And now the bulb has gone in my desk lamp so I am not sure where to get the tiny bulb, that will have to wait until I am feeling athletic as I have no idea where it is plugged in, the lead goes down behind the desk which is against the wall.

Rain, rain, go away Come again another day…la,la,la
Good job you can’t hear me singing. My voice would be enough to frighten anyone away. Unfortunately it’s not working on the rain. I think we’re all getting fed up with it now.
You got some nice plants at the garden centre AnnG, I love this time of year with new plants in the garden centres and nurseries. I was looking out of the window at our little garden this morning and thinking it’s a shame my daffs are going over now and I’ll soon have to pick the heads off but a lot of the earth that was bare is now covered with little white anemones which we put in 7 or 8 years ago in 3 clumps. They have really spread well and will have died down by the time other plants are growing through.
What a nuisance your car wouldn’t start Mel. As AnnG says it does sound as though the short runs aren’t charging the battery up. I know if we haven’t been out and about for a while OH will take our car for a longish drive. I wonder what M’s car will be like when she is allowed to drive again. I wouldn’t mind betting the battery will be flat. Your bil is good to come so often to help with your jobs, isn’t he.
Mandy, I suppose you wouldn’t like to move closer to me and cook my cakes for me, would you? We always used to have home made cakes but for the last few years we’ve mostly had shop bought. I did make a big fruit cake a week or two back but that was mostly because I had a load of well out-of-date fruit and thought it needed using up.
How did your new cleaning contraption work Annx? I’m all in favour of anything that makes h/w a bit easier.
Yesterday we called in to see M & V. M isn’t too bad at all although she looks tired. She had an appointment at the surgery on Friday and V had looked up the time and told her that it was 1.30 pm. When she got there she was told that she should have been there at 11.30 am! V had just not seen the first 1 of the 11. She’s got a new appointment for Wednesday. She hasn’t got the heart monitor yet. Apparently it will be fitted in Outpatients at the hospital and they will send her an appointment to go in for it.
After a hunt around online I found the instructions for my new iPad and it is about 450 pages long because it has different sections covering all the more recent iPads. I found the section for mine and bookmarked it so I can get to it easily next time but I really wanted to download it. I couldn’t find any way of doing this so I had to ask good old Mr Google again. I then got on to a YouTube video which showed me how to download it through iBooks which I do have on my old iPad. I’m taking my time doing this as I tend to have most free time in the evening when I am getting tired and I don’t want to make a mistake because I am tired. Why does everything have to be so complicated these days? Ah well, I’ll get there in the end.
Now I must go and parboil my pots for roasting and baste the chicken in the oven. Have a nice day everyone.

Morning all,
Cloudy here and yes its raining here too ,I think the weatherman said rain until lunchtime then brightening up . I've been feeling washed out again the last few days I've been like it off and on since I had covid I have four or five days of tiredness and then it eases off ,maybe the blood test I had will show something .
That's a devil about your car Mel ,I suppose it's only getting a short run to the shop and it doesn't help if you have to have the lights and wipers on if it's raining as its all extra work for the battery .
Anng I like to bake cakes and now we don't eat so much cake I like to bake for the family but when I bake for them I have to do bigger amounts ,I usually double up on things for them .
