Vera I suspect your OH prefers the Hare to the Barn. He probably forgot what you said anyway. He knew it was a short name :-D
Yes it is devastating for his Mum. She does have a sister in this country and my friend who lives closer to her than me says that her parents are coming from Poland to be with her. Don't know how that will work out though as her father has Altzeimers.
My fingers eem to hava a life of their own sometimes and don't listen to my brain. I am not a touch typist and I think sometimes I press too heavily so get a double letter, but more often think I have pressed the key but approach it like the touch screens so don't press hard enough.

Oh, AnnG, that is so sad about that young lad and it must be devastating for his mother. I hope she has family or friends that will support her through this terrible time. Easter did seem a bit more special when we were young, didn't it. It was the only day of the year we got hot cross buns. The shops were all shut and we didn't have freezers full of food but somehow our mothers seemed to manage to produce lovely meals. We had chicken for dinner on Easter Sunday because it was expensive then so was something a bit more special and it was the day we wore our new summer sandals and, if my mother had the money, I got a new summer dress. Happy days!
Mandy, I hope you keep improving now you are starting on some iron and vitamin D tabs. It's horrid if you feel dizzy and light headed half the time. Take it easy for a while. It's good that you have family nearby to help you if you need it.
Mel, do take AnnG's advice and try your new keyboard. Then at least you will know if it is the keyboard that is faulty. It seems odd that one time it will be fine and the next the words are all over the place. Have you considered that the problem might be with your hands? I'm not criticising you here but speaking from experience as I sometimes have similar problems. I was a very good touch typist but sometimes now I type a letter but it appears twice, or I get a space in the middle of a word or don't get a space where I want one. I think as we get older our fingers are sometimes less flexible than they used to be and typing quickly our finger might overlap 2 keys. I also have something called intention tremor which comes and goes with no warning. I think if, for instance, I'm typing s and I get sss it's because my finger has shook slightly while pressing the key. It probably doesn't apply to you at all but I thought it worth mentioning.
It's been sunny and cloudy by turn today but the wind isn't quite as bad as in the last couple of days and we've only had a little bit of light rain. I set to this morning and gave OH's en-suite and the downstairs cloakroom a really thorough clean. It seemed to take me ages and my back's aching now. Instead of using the steam cleaner or the squeegee (sp?) mop I got down on my hands and knees and gave the floors a good wash. As we were saying the other day, getting up again wasn't so easy. With the cloakroom I had to crawl across the hall floor till I could reach the stairs and haul myself up by the banisters. Not a pretty sight, lol. I've also prepared tonight's dinner - cottage pie and various veg - and prepared and frozen a load of parsnips to replace the ones I accidentally defrosted .
It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow and OH wanted to go out for a meal. Tbh, I'm not that bothered but I thought I should show willing and said lunch at The Barn would be nice. So what has he booked? Evening meal at The Hare!! I can't work out whether he just doesn't listen or he listens and then goes his own sweet way anyway. His hearing is excellent, better than mine, but I think he only selectively hears. Men!!!
I see it's coming up to 4 pm so time to put the kettle on for an afternoon cuppa. Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.

I think there will be different strengths Mandy so good luck with results.
Mel nearly three hours ago since you said that you were sending photos. I have not had any.
Weather here is typically April, about 40 minutes of sun and light cloud then tremendous downpours. I did manage to plant some tomato seeds in the conservatory, but I had to go outside for the compost of course. I planted sungold tomatoes and a few Alicante. The Sungold from Thompson and Morgan said 8 seeds on the packet. I had 6. I hope they all germinate.
I also planted a Thyme and a different mint (Purple berry fruit mint I think it is called), in the new planter but the mint is inside a pot buried in the planter.

Suns out here . Today I don't feel to bad but I haven't really done much ,just put the shopping away when it came and got lunch . Yes Mel dil called and got me some iron tablets and we had some vitamin d from when Colin had them through the winter so I hope after a week or so I will get some of my energy back ,at least they will help until I get my prescription as I have no idea if there are different strengths with the iron tablets .

Morning all,
Sunny one moment and cloudy the next and it looks like it might tip down I think we should be in for some blustery showers today .
Anng thats very sad for the poor lady to lose her young son like that she must be absolutely devastated ,a chap who use to work with Colin hung himself several years ago ,he seemed fine but you never know what's going on in people's minds to do something like that so sad.
Ann thats odd OH's car doesn't need the update now because of the millage ,why would that make a difference I wonder.
Vera glad your OK and just busy .
Just waiting for an Iceland order should be here between 10 and 12 o'clock.

Good morning all. 7 degrees and bright and sunny at the moment. I see your keyboard is still playing up Mel. why are you not changing to the new one?
Obviously don't know any more re the sad happening in the road. We are assuming it was suicide and not some sort of experiment gone wrong, I suppose an inquest will sort that out. Depends if he left a note or there was a reason his Mum knows I suppose.
No plans for today. I remember when a child that on Good Friday all the free churches would get together for a children's service, taking it in turn, Baptist, Methodist, Congregational to hold the service. All the Sunday Schools would be together and after the service each child was given a Hot Cross bun. And good Friday was the only day we saw those buns with crosses on so they were much valued. No shops were open at all and in my house at least, it was treated like a Sunday.
As I got older, in my early teens, the youth club would attend the Church service in our own church in the morning and afterwards all the youth would go on a bike ride. taking a picnic. We used to cycle miles out into the countryside somewhere in the Meon valley and have a great day. I did that until I was about 17/18 even after I met T as for Easter he would go home on leave to see his parents.

Mandy a good idea to buy some pills from the chemist to tide you over, it will give the others a good start.
Ann at least you don’t have the hassle of taking the car in. So that is good.
Vera I expect M&V were pleased to go for coffee. Nice for them to have some normality. Mel do you think you should be getting that new keyboard put onto your PC
It was sad news about the reason the police etc were here the young lad had committed suicide. At least that obviously has to be confirmed at an inquest .I don’t know any more details but it is very sad for his Mum. She is a single Mum and they seemed close, he did a lot for her, a nice lad very polite but a loner I think, never saw him with mates.

Ppleased you werre only busy Vera and there was nothing wrong. we worry about each other when someone dos'nt post for a day or so.
I turned the pc off for a while and now it seems to be ok. It just would'nt type the things I was typing and then it would'nt go down and letters would'nt come out and when they did they were duplicated of some were missing.
I am now going to download the snow pics I took in the dark yesterday and then I may send them later or tomorrow.
I'm doing bubble and squeak tonight just tato and cabbage with a nice dollop of butter salt and pepper. May have it with bacon and egg or may have a burger.

Sorry I didn’t post yesterday. I was very busy and the time just ran away with me. OH and I had planned to do a number of things between us but he suddenly found something else that he reckoned just had to be done straightaway and it took him all day. So I ended up doing all the jobs myself that we were supposed to be sharing and by the evening I was shattered.
Thank you for the pics Mel. I can imagine the drops on your acers shimmering like diamonds. It will be interesting to see how many baby birds you get in those nests. No snow here, thank goodness, but we are still getting plenty of rain and cold winds. Today seems to have been really chilly. Like you I’ve got one of those garden seat-cum-kneeler thingies and it’s very useful to be able to grab hold of the side bits and haul myself up from a kneeling position. I’m very lucky in that I only have a few hip and knee twinges but if I’m not very careful how I get up I can set the back pain off again. Oh, the joys of getting older!
I’m sorry your head is still “iffy”, Mandy. What a nuisance you haven’t got the pills yet. 4 or 5 years ago I was telling the doctor how tired I felt and got sent for blood tests and it turned out that my Vitamin D level was very, very low. I was put on 40,000 units a day for 2 weeks and since then I have been taking 2000 units a day. The first 2 weeks I had on prescription but the doc. asked if I was prepared to buy my own after that to save the NHS some money so I have been doing that ever since. I think they have helped with the tiredness a bit so I hope they help you as well, together with the iron pills.
That was nice to be driven out by your friend’s daughter AnnG and to get some new plants as well. I find some of the cream cakes and sponges a bit sickly but I do like a nice toasted teacake so your snack would have suited me down to the ground. Did you find out what all the police activity was in your road recently?
I could cry over that poor little boy that died in 2020. I’ve just seen a short video of our 7 month old great granddaughter laughing and squealing over a toy car that she can stand up in and she looks so healthy and happy and then I compare that with all I read about that little boy. Apparently lockdown and restrictions gave the parents an excuse not to meet anyone face-to-face and when asked to let social services see him on something like WhatsApp, the parents just lied about not being able to get the programme to download. The Family Court made the decision to let him go back to his parents even though others spoke against that decision.
We took M & V to our Thursday coffee meeting today as M is not yet allowed to drive. There were 8 of us today. This afternoon we whizzed to the shops and got fresh veg and salad stuff, and some freezer bits in Farm Foods that were on a very good offer. We also delivered an 80th birthday card to an acquaintance. Now I had better go and sort out some dinner. I’m just going to heat up a veggie quiche but I’m not sure what to have with it. Usually we have salad but I don’t feel in the mood for salad. I might just do a tray bake of extra veg.
I hope you all sleep well tonight.

Well at least the chemist has received your prescription Mandy, but it's a shame there's no delivery now till after easter. Plan B sounds good to get some D and iron ones that will give you a headstart and you might start to feel a difference after a few days.
I used to find those kneelers good Mel. I can't kneel at all now, too painful even on a cushion. If I manage to get down sideways, the only way I can get up is to roll on my tummy, put a hand each side of my face and push upwards as I walk straight legs towards my face with my btm in the air!! Whenever they come to fix something with SKY they pull all of the cables out of the trunking I have carefully put them all in and it's a right fiddle near the floor to get them all back again, so I too have cable sphaggetti till I can face putting them back!
OH rang the garage to book his car in for the latest updates they sent him a letter about and they asked his mileage, and, as he had done over 12,000 miles now they said it didn't need doing. How does that work I wonder? OH never asks as many questions as me and was just glad we hadn't got to take his car in.
All I've done this afternoon is add a few more bits to my family tree,

Well I rang boots about my prescription and she said yes it came through this morning but they have to order the items and they are not having an order in tomorrow so it will be Tuesday before the order comes . They are not open Saturday as they haven't got a pharmacist in . She said she could take if back to the spine so I could try somewhere else but it means if somewhere else haven't got the items by the time I take it back into boots and they order it it could be Wednesday by the time it comes in so I left it for hopefully Tuesday. In the mean time if I can get into boots tomorrow I'll get some vitamin d and iron tablets off the shelf which will hopefully help until I get the prescription .

My problem Mel is not getting down it is getting up again.
I forgot to mention that in the garden centre I looked for Dwarf French beans. They had at least nine varieties but not a sign of a packet of Safari. so, unless I can get to one of the other garden centres sometime I am going to have to order on line. I can do that but the quantity is huge in some cases.

Iv'e got some like that Anng. I tried to clean round it this morning but it dos'nt look any better.
Its been raining here nearly all morning I just got back to the house in time this morning after feeding the girls as the moment I stepped onto the patio under cover it started with heavy rain. I have hoovered the kitchen and dusted all my desk and the telly and other bits. Had the small filing cabinet out next to my desk as I dropped something down the back. Well tthat started another lot of cleaning I had HUGE cobwebs all down the back of the cabinet and behind my desk which has never been out since he put it here in the corner years and years ago. I do my best to get under it but it is getting harder to get down there now.

Had a nice visit to a Jane's Pantry (I think that might be a local chain) restaurant that has been built on the edge of a huge new development of houses. I had not been there before but the coffee was good and the toasted tea cakes were lovely very big.
I was taken out by my friend Jean (Tony's late golf partner's wife, older than me) and her daughter who drove us and insisted on buying coffee and tea cake. Then on to a garden centre where I bought a few plants and a bag of compost which Karen put into the garage for me. When Jake eventually comes he can move the bag round to the back for me. I also bought a purple Polemonium with money daughter sent me for Easter, two miniature dianthus and a different mint.
And now it is pouring with rain again. However it was a nice visit and made a nice change. Karen is a couple of years older than my daughter but she is very knowledgeable with I.T. and basic electrics. She has said that she will come round and sort out my electric wiring which resembles spaghetti behind the TV.
