Just had a very old childhood memory. Mum asked me to go and pick some mint. Wash it and put it on the side ready for the potatoes. Off I went down the garden, picked the mint, took into the kitchen, and proceeded to wash the mint with a BAR OF SOAP. Who said little boys don't wash !!!!

Had a heavy shower earlier, but not enouth to do any good.

No Idea Elizabeth, If you ring a Dyson dealer they might be able to tell you if it's a common fault ,and what sort of cost is involved. GET A QUOTE FIRST. You know what almost happened to me !!!!
Still no rain here, but looks like the heavens could open any minute Have just split up some house plants, got5 from an African Violet. also 7 leaves, which I have pur rooting powder on, and put in a pot. They might take, If so, will have more than the local nursery. LOL

Had a good chat to Shirl yesterday. We were on skype for almost an hour. We put the world to right. and it's a safer place now that we are in charge.

Gosh what a day we have had!!!!! I have only just had lunch. We set of for the garden center early just after I had posted this morning. On the way there HIS bl**dy car cut out!!!!!!!! Would it start................no......then it did and moved us forward about 20 foot and did it again. Had he got his phone with him?? .........NO.

Says to me ring up Stewart. No phone number in my phone for Stewart so rang mum to look in my phone book for the number........................................could she find it...................NO.

Rang 118 500asked for the number...............no S T**ker listed so I asked if there was an Ian and the lady said "I have an I T**ker.............derrrr thats his brother can I have that number please? Rung it ........................no answer!!!!! OH gets a garage on the sat nav with a number to ring. Ring that...... Don't do pickup anymore but my brother does. Gives me brothers number and I ring it. Brother answers and says he dos'nt do pickups anymore. I give him my mobile numbers as my battery is very low on my contract phone. Full battery on my old phone but not much money on it!! Thought it was only £1.44 as glass is so dusty inside. Man gives me a ring and tells me a number for a collection service, can I find the pen????? ....................NO. Find one fallen apart in my handbag and tell him I shall have to press hard so I can read it afterwards. This works and I thnak him and try the new number. Yes they say we can pick you up where are you. On the road from Holsworthy to Launceston I say at a turn off to Ashwater and Halwill Juntion. There are loads of turn offs like that on that road she tells me. I can't read the signpost because it is pouring with rain and I can't see out the windscreen. Meanwhile I have tried to ring Ian again and got through this time. Gave him my phone number and explained if I disappear to ring me back on old phone. Told him I think someone is coming now to collect us and thanks for ringiing. Then his dad Andy rings up to say that son Stewart is stuck in Exeter with no money and a car on the back of his transporter anyway. Told him I think someone is coming to pick us up. Wait and Wait and still nobody comes, it was a Launceston number but this firm was past Launceston at Lifton!!!! and he had to go a special way because he could'nt get under the low bridge in Launceston.

Anyway Big Al arrived and got the car up onto the transporter got off the road and secured the car properly. Brought us home.

Sorted all the milage out with the driver and he had to borrow my phone to ring his firm as his phone was Orange and they don't work here where we live. I had'nt got a coat with me and it had been tipping it down all this time. Wet I walked down our drive and mum made me a cuppa and OH a coffee which was drunk very quickly by him and not by me. Come on hurry up OH says and I had to find a coat quickly so put on the wet one from yesterdays soaking. Off we go in my car (the dirty dustbin he tells me) and we eventually get there and pay for the statues. Then we had a quick look round the garden center for me and the pond place for him. On the way home I had mums fairy on my lap. She weed on me several times on the way home and my right leg was soaking by the time we arrived.

It has been raining ever since and still is.

Anyway we now have the two fairies home but my one has'nt got her wings put on yet................................................

Dirty Fairy Mel.She should have had a nappy on lol.I'm glad you finally got them after your horrendous journey. What a dreadful time.If that was Chris and me,we would have been at each others throats !!!

It's raining now Frank, heavyish.I did hear a far off rumble earlier.Hopefully it has moved away now.

I hope you find out the problem with your Dys** Elizabeth.I was thinking I would get a ball one next time.Is it much easier to move it around?

David Report 22 Jul 2010 16:59

Early last summer afer his second bowel cancer operation, I took my brother Ralph to B & Q.

He was trying to get used to wearing a colostomy bag.
I had said something like its a small price to pay for being here.He said he didn't like the prospect of wearing it for the rest of his life.

He has kept on at the authorities about a reversal of the op so as to reconnect the stoma with his intestines. He phoned me last night to say in 3 weeks he has to attend the hospital for a pre op medical check up.
Seems his name has come to the top of the list or near it.

Jane

Jane Report 22 Jul 2010 17:17

I will keep my fingers crossed for Ralph David, that he can have the reversal done.It will be great for him if he got rid of the bag.He will be a new man again.

Been doing a bit of clearing of ivy off the wall when we had a huge clap of thunder and it started pouring again. Rain stopped play so we came in.

OH is going to make me a decked area at the end of the big pond on the same level and I am to have two oblong shallow ponds set in it for water plants and my fairies behind so the wall will shelter them from the wind. He is also going to make the trellisy planks taller on the wall. We are using two stock tanks for the ponds that I used to have when I had the pet shop. Think it is going to look nice as I am going to put plants in pots up there so I can change them round when they finish flowering and always have colour there.

Must go back and read about the donkey as I think I missed that post.

Mandy we had gammon and pineapple yesterday with mushrooms, mange tout, cheese jackets and tomatoes.

I have some plum toms rippened in the tunnel now and the Big Boy ones are getting bigger!! about the size of a tennis ball now but still green.

I have cues galore and courgettes green and yellow.

Oh how awful about the donkey. I don't wnat to see it either!!!!! I hate the wildlife programs where you see lions or tigars killing other animals. I won't watch them for that reason.

Oh Mel, what a day you've had ,i should think you were glad to get home .
I bought some of those little plum tomatoes from the greenhouses ,they are so sweet ,the only trouble is i keep eating them like grapes .

We had a storm about three o'clock ,it went over so black and poured with rain just as the children came out of school , now started to rain again.

Sister has one of those Dys*n ball cleaners ,she's not very keen on it ,says its not very good for doing the stairs ,the pipes not long enough to reach to the top and you carn't balance it on the stairs very well, says she wishes she hadn't bought it now ,she doesn't think it sucks that well either .
That was good Jane ,the car passing like that, you got away light there !!
Oh just realised what i said !! LOL

Gammon was nice at tea time ,Lemon Meringue could have done with leaving a bit longer to set more ,but they still liked it .
