Well ,it was very nice Mandy.I did strip off the skin with all the hot stuff on ,but the taste had gone through into the chicken. It was a spatchcock Chicken.A whole chicken splayed out (if you know what I mean).
I think I can see a bat flying around outside.I haven't seen any in ages.

Piri Piri is definitely Portuguese. I spent four summer holidays there until recently with daughter and family and grandson often had Piri Piri Chicken, it is hot and spicy.
Going back to what Sheila said about her mum and her win of sugar, yesterday I went to my mum's house to sort out her clothes, it wasn't too bad, half the stuff I had never seen her wear. In every pocket of every jacket or trousers I found handkerchiefs ....clean ...... and also those little bags of sugar you get in cafes. I remember her doing that, taking a handful, she must have forgotten where she'd put some !!!!!

We have Bats that fly past our house ,we sit outside when its dusk and watch them ,they have a run from the church down the side of our house and back .
Oh Maureen ,every time you see the little bags of sugar you'll think of mum ,with my dad it was money bags from the bank ,there were loads of them in drawers and in his trouser pockets ,jacket pockets ,he liked them to put his loose change in ! now when i see a money bag i think of Dad ...and smile

Morning all,
It has taken me ages to read your posts. I was so tired yesterday after the weekly shop I did'nt get back to the thread. I had to read four pages of posts.
Going out early to a garden center to see about some more fish stuff. Mum at docs at 12 noon so shan'nt be long.
Grey here today and it rained last night.
Must dash see you all later.
Sheila love your posts!!
Evening in Paris was one of my nans favorite perfumes then I think the other was Fu Nana. Don't think that is the right spelling but have seen it on Ebay for sale. Very old fashioned.

Morning All, Oh Sheila,I have just had aright old giggle here reading about Mosh's Grandad.Rolling up his beard to eat his curry lol.It sounds like you had a right old time when you stayed out there !! It is a funny morning here.Cloudy ,very still with a little tiny bit of drizzle.Although I can hardly call it that as it is so little. The stables down the lane are burning the pile of muck and the smoke if blowing right this way.I have had to shut the windows in the front.

Shelia, I was in the kerkerna Island off Sfax, in Tunisia. Loverly Island and very remote, only two Hotels. There was a fisherman, who we called Captain Farhat, He would take us out on his boat to collect the fish from the pots and nets. He would make mint tea that you could stand a spoon up,in it. and so sweet. in tiny glass's. the water around the Island was so shallow. In the main part of the Island was the Oasis where the woman and children, collected their water in 45 gallon barrels, and roll them back to their palm thong houses. How the other half live.
Jane, I agree, you can't call it a drizzle, just DAMP in the air. Sky looks full of rain. We only had two small showers yesterday, so could be gratful, for a drop today.
Everybody seems to have gone off to do their shopping.

Afternoon all, Oh Shelia ,i just love your stories , i had a giggle when you said you'd rather marry the camel ,do keep them coming .
Could you not get in touch with the Council in your area about the rubbish next door ,even if it is privately owned surely they could make them clear it up if its an eyesore .
Well i've put my washing out ,the ground is drying and there is a bit of wind ,but there's also some black clouds too !!
Oh Jane ,i bet that stinks , we get a strong Manure smell here when they start the muck spreading on the fields and it stinks !!!
BIL drinks a lot of the fruit teas ,i have tried them and some are all right but i like my coffee.

It wasn't me asking about the carrots Annx, It's that other silly Sod.
Jane, It's a good idea to "THIN " the carrots, pick one out, every two or three carrots, that will give the others room to grow and you will have nice "Baby carrots" ready to eat after a wash.
This morning I have picked all the Turkey off the carcas, some will be used for a curry the rest I will eat cold with pickle. I didn't have my turkey and chips last night. Ros wanted New pots and Veg. guess who won.!!!!! The cat is always around looking for tip bits. He would like getting back to his normal food. SPOILT OR WHAT !!!!! Mind you he must be 15/17 years old. We had him as a stray, when we lived at Gayton, soon after our old cat "STAMP" names when we had the post office. He would sit on my lap in the Post Office, and paw at the money in the cash draw, and at the stamps in the stamp book. We had to have him put down. Then within weeks This little bugge# turned up flea bitten ears and living off the bread and scraps we threw out to the birds.Ros bought a tin of cat food, and in he came, and has been with us since. He's starting to loose his teeth, but keeps himself very clean. I will miss him when he goes. but I don't think we will replace him.

HI hello everyone dId go to work today to the charity shop but it was closed they had a burst pipe and flood water everwhere wanted me to stay and help but declined water gives me cramp in my feet anyway to big abled men there to do that some really interesting old newspapers 1936 someone had bought in drowned and went soggy. One man with me said oh we most save those we will spend the next few days drying them out .There is a huge lady called Sophia who is polish she said if you thinka me going to dry newpaper you thinka fong I have better things to do.I stood there with my feet getting wet saying you mean you think wrong not thinka fong she said yes that what I said. I said I am going home this situation is not good for my blood pressure call me when you have sorted it out .On my way out the shop a lady arrived with a huge bag of stuff and I said sorry the place is closed today due to a pipe bursting she went mad at me. Like it was my fault ever wish you had not got up. It is cold here today and I have my vest and my jumper and socks on. Could not put the fire on the electric fire no central heating because my husband is struggling money wise and he said instead of piggling around at that stupid job why not get a job to get some money. So I thought blow this went down to the Co-op store and cafe and bought myself bacon egg fried bread potatoe cake sausage and a piece of black pud and a pot of tea and read my paper. Just had enough what with the rat yesterday .I was not being greedy at the cafe but it was limited 5 items for five pound but got the black pud thrown in because I refused the toast. Good value really but hate to think whats its done for my health. I have had mint tea its lovely but very sweet. Moshens brother Tarrick took me out fishing we bobbed up and down on the water for one hour and I got sea sick I am hopeless I know we never caught a thing and I ended up sitting In Sousse by the sea drinking loads of mint tea. We did a dessert trip to the Sahara to see a lake and mountain by jeep bouncing up and down over the dunes made me feel sick what came to the rescue mint tea again. Life in Tunisia is very hard the women do not get a good time they work so hard while the men spend a lot of time smoking water pipes and watching tv Mohsens mum was blind in one eye and could not read or write and she kept patting my hand and hugging me. This poor lady had to go and dry her husbands feet when he bathed in the sea. My hubby said hey I think I am coming here If you get treated like that .I said I would not dry your feet I would push you in the sea. Bye for now have a nice day.
