Mel. I forgot about the little bags of Chestnuts. When I worked in the City (London) St Mary Axe, Every evening, 5.30pm as we left the office. There was an old boy, with a brazier cooking Chestnuts 6d a bag (21/2 Pence to you young ones). Would walk down to Liverpool st station peeling them, and they were so warming with a little salt on. Ros loves them RAW.

Morning Everyone,

Mild here this morning, just looks dull and damp after all that pretty frost.

It sounds as if everything is coming together now Mel, drawers being filled, mattress arriving soon. You do work hard!

My 2 arms are all bruised where they took all the blood yesterday........easy to tell the one the trainee did.......HUGE bruise!! lol I have just strapped on the accelerometer (a kind of step counter) that I have to wear for a week and then send back. I suppose I better get cracking doing some steps next. OH has popped out to do an errand and then we are off to B*S fo use a coupon for a BOGOF breakfast, then some shopping.

Thank you for your card Jane......have sent you a pm. BBL folks.

Morning All
It is the same weather here Ann.I didn't even have my coat done up when I was out just now.
Mel you are just about sorted now then.Is it just the Mattress to come now?

We had a delicious meal last night, and it was about 11.45 when we got home.Hannah had locked the door and left the key in,so we couldn't get in.
I felt like Fred Flintstone hammering on the door and shouting Hannah instead of WILMA lol.Chester was barking his head off inside.Good job out neighbours aren't too close !

I am going to have a coffee and then go and then off to get a Xmas Tree.

First thanks for cards Mandy and Liz.

Mandy, you be careful you will meet yourself coming back !!! with all these jobs to do.

Jane, you are lucky, Hannah came and opened the door, you might have ended up in the car all night. Been there, seen the film, got the tea shirt. !!!! Glad you had a nice meal and enjoyed you evening. If you had been 15 minutes later home, you would have turned into a PUMPKIN.!!!

New bed, new baby indeed. What are you thinking Mandy. Go and sit on the naughty step !!!!

I think this morning we may go round the Village delivering Cards. It saves a bomb on postage, and as it's mild, there will be no fear of slipping over.

Liz, If you haven't already left, GOOD LUCK at the hospital. Will speak later.

Ironing's all done ,i put the ironing board away then realised i hadn't ironed hubby a shirt for tonight !!

Went outside in the back garden and tied up the Honeysuckle that had come down with the weight of the snow ,i like to put some twinkling lights on it .
I think the cakes will have to wait until tomorrow now .

Where's everyone ?

Thank you for your cards Fiona and Mandy. Mandy you are a star!!......absolutely beautiful. I have put it in pride of place. Another one I shall save.

My word, the shops and carparks are so busy now. I see things were running out in Sain*burys. Only big gammon joints left, no unsmoked streaky left. I suppose there will be more coming.........

OH's parents have changed their minds again!! Just when we are 2 weeks from christmas and busy, they decide they want to get another car after all and can we drop everything to take them straightaway to Atherstone about 30 miles away to look at one they saw in the paper. OH wanted me to go as well, but got a 'no' in reply. To be honest I don't want to be held responsible if it doesn't turn out well. A few years ago they asked if they could buy my little car I was selling, which had no problems and would have been perfect for them at cheap trade in price they could afford then. They messed me about, changing their minds at the last minute as FIL wanted to stick with what he was used to. I thought I was going to end up with 2 cars!! That's my grumpiness got out for the day. lol

Back to chores again......

Brother Ralph's gutters front and rear are down with the weight of the snow and ice. In addition the enire length of his cast iron soil pipe is down as well. His insurance policy doesn't cover his gutters!! Unfortunatly.

Any remember tripe? Anyone like tripe?
My Mother ate it raw with vinegar on.

HELP. The page to too wide for my screen, HOW do I reduce it.

David I saw on the lunchtime news, how a couple of men,one leaning out of a window, with a big stick, tried to loosen the snow on the roof. When suddenly the whole lot came down, gutters and all.

What's this grappa then Jane, a special wine or scotch ???? I've never heard of it. Thick or what ????

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 10 Dec 2010 17:37

I'am glad you like the cards ,they were done in the summer when it was nice and warm !!

We got a real christmas tree for the front of the house ,we used hubby's van to get it home ,we didn't want the needles in the car , i don't think i could get the seats down in our car ,it would be awkward as i have the childrens car seats in !!!
The tree didn't cost us anything as i used the money from the Nect*r card .

There's a lot of weight in the gutters from the snow ,one of the shops in town had a big sign in the window warning people that there was snow hanging down from the roof !!!
Have you still got lots of snow then David ? ours as just about gone ,most of it went today .

I really don't think i could tackle Tripe !! it looks so rubbery !!
And as for eating it raw !!! no way lol

We're off out later for our Christmas meal , and i must say my tummy's rumbling already !!

Bother i forgot the time again

It just posted on it's own, I wasn't ready.

Its now jumping back to the start.

Where's LIZ, We all want to know our OH got on today.

Ann, The only advise I can give after 35 years in the Motor Trade. DON'T GET INVOLVED WITH BUYING A CAR FOR A RELATIVE. I've been there. At the time alls great, as soon as something goes wrong it's your fault. I know it's hard, but let them make their own mistakes. Is it a PRIVATE sale or GARAGE ??? If a garage they can get an AA inspection before they buy.

MillymollyAmanda Report 10 Dec 2010 17:40

Jane

Jane Report 10 Dec 2010 17:45

Sorry about your Brothers gutters David. That's a B***** that the insurance doesn't cover that. All snow here has gone now.

TRIPE!!!!! I remember when I was young. My Mum and Sister loved it.I think Mum cooked it in milk and onions. When they had that ,Dad and I had mince and mash. There is no way on earth I could eat it.

Frank I don't know how you can sort the screen size out.But someone might know.
Grappa is an Italian drink. It is a clear liquid, drunk after the meal.It is blooming strong and not everyones cup of tea lol.I am not too struck on it.Give me a Tia Maria anytime.Or a Glava with ice.
