Mel Fairy Godmother Report 6 Dec 2010 09:57

Morning from a very frosty place.

I took some photos this morning as the frost is so thick. My car ariel had all sort of frozen fluff on it. All the ice crystals are sticking out. Out the back the old seed heads on the cow mumble look great, just like someone has sprayed them with glitter. I would much rather have a cold dry morning than a wet one.

Jane yes the wild birds do like dry porridge. Mum used to buy a big packet of the cheap one for them in the winter. Must put one on the shopping list.

9.57am.

Thanks for all the uploads, and cards, very much appreciated. Mel, have just pmd you but forgot to say that I hope your arm is feeling better, you really can't be incapaciated for Christmas, how will you lift your glass?!!!!! Millie woke us in the night wanting to go out, she will eat horse poo, no matter how much we sweep up she always manages to find some, and this of course, make her tummy upset!! Good thing we love her, she did get threatened with the Blue Cross at 3.oclock this morning, mind you, I don't think that they'd have room for her with all these poor abandoned pets being dumped there! have just put a ping-pong ball in the bird bath to stop it freezing, don't think the birds think much of it though! perhaps they think it could be a trap, may have to move it!!!! Must go and hay Merlin!

Afternoon all,
Very frosty here this morning ,but it does seem to be thawing a little now.

Jane, lovely frosty photo's thanks , hows Chesters leg ? is he still limping That porridge sounds nice , i might get some of that next time i go shopping .

Mel, hows the arm today ? do you think moving all the stuff about in your rooms has aggravated it ?
My right hips playing me up today , think it might be because i sat at a funny angle when i was doing the christmas presents up yesterday, it hurts when i walk and there's pain down the front of my leg .
I need to go to town ,but i think i'll wait for hubby to come home and then he can drop me off so i don't have to walk to far .

Thanks Frank for the christmas card ,must get mine posted.

Liz, at least Millie wakes you ,better than having a mess to clear up indoors !!!

AMANDA thank you for telling me your son had a problem with SxY I phoned them today and they said to me it will be £69 to come out and I said we pay for the movie channel and if it is not put back on we will stop payment and now it is back on. ta xx

I agree Aprils had a really bad time but Jess is still saying no dress. I think maybe here bright pink velvet dress will have to do for the ballet and grandad will buy her a dress she likes for Christmas will wisk her off to the shop while down here for a couple of days.

Jane Mohsen will know on Friday when he goes to Solihull they will tell him yes or no. I do not think he would care if he did not love his wife and family having lost one job when accused of something he do not do and being kicked in the ribs for money he was in a lot of pain but still went to work next day rather than take time off and loose his job. Anyway please keep your fingers and toes and everything crossed for him who knows
what they will say. He gave up a good life to come here.
Mel have you fallen a bit out of date with the threads all over the place and
me not being on here much . I hope you are ok and will not be in pain for Christmas. I did appreciate your card Mel and you should get mine if the post office here is working now. Also David who fell I hope you will be ok
my computor is still great I got of e bay.

It is a lovely day today walked the little dogs across twinkling snow and frost. Teddie like to lick it and Jasper seemed put out today there was not enough snow to roll in.

I loved the people singing in the store that Shirl sent me I played it several times yesterday. I hope your family are ok I loved carol singing I used to go singing carols with Beryl shes got a great voice and people would ask her to sing on her own and poor me well they did not appreciate my voice .

Aprils enjoying ride her pony its got some very unusual colouring and nobody wanted the poor little chap whoes called Princess it must be
gutted .Well April likes the name. Uncle Brin said how do I explain to people the pony is called Princess and its male. I said cover it up and he gabbled something I think not very nice in Welsh.

I had a card today from Annie landscaping for her Lord and the card had his Lord crest and emblem on it. My ho said who do you know to get a card
with this on it it being on the envelope also .I said you see I have friends in high places and he said well ask them for some money then to pay for the tumble dryer and microwave . I thought that very nasty lol. ##

Have a nice day Love Andre Rieu and was offered a seat to see him by my daughter he comes the 22nd to Bham and my birthday is the 24th but turned it down please make your seats cheaper I say so we can all see him it would be over £200 pound for a good seat for two of us. I hope Ann enjoys him it will be a wonderful night I reckon for her. Annie booked for this year and got a refund when he did not come . However I think she goes to iceland in a few months after working hard .But was upset he cancelled.

Thanks for photos Jane, looks B##### cold. but the dogs love it don't they ???

Ros has just given our young neighbours some more Christmas decorations, He is putting them up straight away. We have so many, she will keep seeing things ans saying to herself." That will look nice" and buys it, the fact she already has it at home dosen't seem to matter WOMAN

This is to say my son in law had a letter this afternoon and it was from the imigration office saying that he would be asked to leave this country within a month if his application to stay is turmed down how mean is that.

I have just watched Sooty and Sweep on Alan Titch so funny he was getting nicely squibbed with stuff .

Maybe you do not all watch Corrie but it should be good tonight with a tram crash killing some characters off.

Ann went of Strictly and she was fun but glad she went. I have to record everything .

I feel so said when I see that Welsh choir
on the Sainsxxxbuxxy advert Matt used to solo with that song in his choir and a big lump comes into throat everytime I see it.
I just thought Jane I would let you know how quickly my son in law may be going home if he does not pass all the tests and things Friday. have a nice evening

Hav'nt done much all day. It is so cold here. I went to try and start my car to go and get our pills and I could'nt open the drivers door!!! Frozen solid. So went round the passenger side where the sun had been on it and tried that one which opened with a lot of effort.

Climbed over the seat with difficulty as not so agile as I was when younger, and tried a few times to start it and gave up. OH said he would take me so we had to defrost his car before we could go. He had been up the top in it this morning to take the bins up but it had frozen over again. Anyway we got up the docs and I got my Monday paper on Monday for a change.

Sausages and ratat tonight with noodles.

Evening All,

What a fantastic frost to wake up to this morning. Everything looked so pretty. I abandoned all thoughts of h****work and off I went with my camera......might see nothing like it again around here. I have sent a few of the pics I took, but I imagine Fiona may well see frosty scenes like these most winters!

Thanks for your pics Jane........I see Chester was off with his nose on the scent of something! lol

Yes Frank.......some pics before you forget how to do it. What is it they say.......use it or lose it. lol

I went with OH to the hospital at teatime to have that tooth root taken out. It all went very well, no stitch needed.......but they told him he has an abcess under the next tooth!! They didn't suggest he do anything about it unless it hurts which it doesn't. He is glad it is all done now and is tucked up by the tv watching sport!

I read today that people are having trouble with condensing boilers shutting off because of the water in the overflow pipe freezing and blocking it. Said we should lag them to prevent it........another thing to sort out.

I was 'copied in' to an e-mail to Santa today. lol It was from OH and had a big list of pressies he would like. lol
