Afternoon All,

Lol Jane.....too tired to nudge or wink last night. I slept like a log!!! Must have been tired as I usually wake up 1 or 2 times.

Frank, I had one of those calls about 20 minutes ago. Someone foreign saying my computer was slow!! I just said 'my husband's a policeman, I'll get him to come and speak to you.......the line went dead!!! I do wonder how many people they trick though, I'm sure OH's parents would be taken in.....good job they don't have a computer.

OH has just this minute phoned......the match at his local club was abandoned today after a 22 man brawl broke out!!! I shall no doubt hear the details later.

I'm off out now to get some diesel. I heard yesterday there are shortages in some places......typical just as my car is near the empty. I bet there will be queues.

No Fog here Mandy. It looks very clear .Just stuck my nose out the back door and Brrrr! the temp is dropping now.I would love a small chest freezer but there is nowhere for one to go.I have an upright in the garage, and have 2 fridges.I find the shelves and drawers in the freezer are not deep enough.

I think things are just about to freeze over again outside.Hannah is at the hairdressers at the moment.I asked her to stop off at the little garden shop to get another Fat Cake for the birds, plus some wild bird food.Everything is being wolfed up.And the blooming squirrel is pinching the fat from the coconut shell.

Xmas decorations are now down from the loft and in the garage. It's too flipping cold to go in there now to sort things out .I think I will leave it until tomorrow.I never put Xmas things up and out until a week to ten days before Xmas Day.
I was trying to remember when Mum And Dad put the tree and decorations up.It was probably just a few days before the big day.Not weeks before like some people do today.Paper chains made by me and Janice would be stretched all over the dining table ,coming unstuck in different places lol, after having arguments over which order we would put the different colours.
Whilst all decorations and tree going up ,Mum would be busy in the kitchen cooking the Ham and a TONGUE!! I can still see in my mind a TONGUE on the worktop. It gives me the willies now when I think back to that sight lol.I think it was an Ox Tongue!!!!!!!......and it looked like a tongue!

HI all
Been out most of the day, went shopping in Glasgow not for christmas pressies may I add, almost finished those , OH & I have been clearing out some dishes from my kitchen cupboards and as this year all the family will be at my house for christmas , I wanted some new plates & bowls, also a red table cloth so we managed to get some plates with a red line round the rim & bowls to match, also some new table mats & coasters.
and some long red leaves , and christmas flowers for a decoration I am making to go in the front porch.

Then came home had lunch & went up to see my dad who was a little calmer, He kept walking round & round the corridors, & at one time there was 4 men & 2 ladies walking round and round all going in opposite directions. and their relatives just sitting there waiting for them to come back.
stayed for 3/4 an hour then came home and have been watching Nigella Lawson on the TV making some lovely ginger bread biscutes for the Christmas tree and a lovely recipe for christmas cake. YUM YUM.

Snow turning to slush now and we had a temp of 4 in the car so I think we are having a bit of thaw, Keeping fingers crossed that SIL and Sofia can get down for dinner tomorrow , not seen Sofia since last Sunday and have missed her liitle smiles and chatter.

Jane, My FIL always did a tounge. He had a press which he compressed it in. I found, in the garage a few weeks ago a slicer he used to cut it. a miniture bacon slicer, with a handle you turned.

Ros back from MK about 5.pm. No chance of seeing SANTA. BOOKINGS ONLY. she went mad, never heard of that before. Little Ella was quite upset. DIL is going to take her to P'Borough tomorrow hoping she will have more luck.

Fiona, Must be a right song and dance, watching all these people wandering around, with nowhere to go.!!!! gives them a bit of excerise.
I saw a bit of Nigella at 11.30 this morning she is so surgestive the way she describes things !!!!!

Watch out for the pavements in the morning, minus 8 tonight, so there will be plenty of ice around.

Thanks Maureen for your Christmas song card , good one.

Frank, They are getting pleanty of exercise , I would be exausted if I did as much walking, sitting down for no more than 5 mins and their off again, One little lady had a imaginary duster and was going around cleaning complaning to everyone that they were making a mess and another lady kept taking my jacket and said I should have hung it up. I have a feeling these woman must have done a lot of housework in the past and feel they are still tyding up.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 5 Dec 2010 11:04

11.03am.

Hi all and good morning.

Went shopping yesterday after a quick lunch. It was pouring with rain on the drive there and back. All the snow was gone in Bideford but there is a small amount in places in the garden that dos'nt get the sun.

Sun is shining today after a very heavy frost. got up twice in the night. I have my bad arm back again after pulling it stretchjng to pick damsons last year. I still have some of the Ibruprofen I had last year and the date is still good so I think I shall go back on those today. I can't lift the bloomin thing up as it hurts.

Thanks for the cards Shirl and Sheila. I still have'nt done them all yet.

David

David Report 5 Dec 2010 12:09

Sorry to learn of your painful arm Mel.I sympathise
After that heavy fall I had in my bathroom last April my formerly strong right arm and shoulder is now weak and painful.
Nothing broken,just hurt.
I hope yours heals soon.
