Don't make excuses Mandy, one is never enough. Greedy little thing you !! lol

In the Winter of 95 i think. We lived in Gayton. All roadds went up to the village. I worked about 5 miles away. It had snowed most of the day, so I rang Ros before I left work, and asked it there was any traffic going passed our house which was at the top of a hill, Oh she said, traffic is going passed, you should have no trouble. I left work, All OK on the main road, turned off up the lane, and half way up got stuck in four foot snow drift. I had to sit for half an hour for the snow plough. When I got in doors, she said where have you been. She omitted to say the traffic that had gone up and down were TRACTORS. Was the AIR BLUE !!!

Ros has just popped to Morr#### to get some bits.Had to clear all the windows on the car. Side roads look iffy, but i'm sure main roads will be ok.

Jane, I never knew the shops had gone from barton road, there was one on the left as you approached the lights, and another on the right by the bus stop passed the lights. Are the shops still in Polewell Lane by the church. My Son was christand there, and the first Vicars name was BEDFORD or BIDFORD. in the dark distant ages. Famous whereever I GO>!!!
Those donkey's were at Tesc#s in Northampton the other week less the antlers. in aid of a horses trust. So docile looking, you could take them home. ah.

I don't know about eye balls freezing. I thought mine had fallen off !!!!

Were you talking about your eyeballs Frank!!!?? I think they may fall out but not off!!!

Just been round and deiced all the chickens water and have to do the wild birds now.

It's blimmin cold out there.

Mandy hope hubby can get back up the hill now it has been gritted.

Nothing has been done about my car yet so I am still housebound. I think it is a tactic to keep me indoors but I do need some chicken feed.

Jane Report 1 Dec 2010 12:22

7 minutes is really good Mel.That must be a record,
.Don't think our Frank was talking about his eyeballs Mel !!!!!!!

Frank there are no shops anywhere near the church.Just the Post Office.None on Barton Rd.By the primary school in Belvoir Drive there is a very small convenience shop(expensive),a Chippy, and a Childrens Nursery.Down Gotch Rd(I think Gotch) there is Budgens.

I went to have a drink of water from the bottle in the car,and it is one solid block of ice lol.

Evening All,

We seem to have been lucky around here. It's been snowing most of the day, but only about an inch has settled. Still icy up the close, but traffic has cleared the main roads. I am supposed to be going to see my friends new foal and her other ponies tomorrow. The lane they are down is even called Snow Lane. lol She e-mailed me this morning to say DON'T even try to get my car down the lane.....only fit for 4x4s. It is down a steepish hill, only wide enough for 1 vehicle and has tight bends. If I slid by the small gap near the bottom where she has 2 parking spaces I would go straight into the ford across the brook!!! We may meet up at the pub in the village instead and walk down or she will drive me down. We are seeing how much more white stuff comes down before the morning.

We had a BOGOF turkey lunch at Sain*burys today.....very nice and under £8 for the 2 of us. Stayed in since......really appreciate not having to go to work in this weather anymore.
