You won't be seeing me out in a 'bare' skin Shirl!!!!! lol Seems it is colder where you are than here though. We are due more snow in the week according to the forecast.......what's the deepest you've had since you went to Canada?

OH got the salad all done for tea and even put the breaded camembert in the oven tonight........and cleaned my shoes I'm wearing to go out tomorrow. Think he's trying to make up for the 'wallet' incident yesterday. lol

I have to be up earlier tomorrow, so will go and sort out what to wear and watch tv now. May BBL

The 2 feet icicles are hanging from the gutter above my bed room windows.Three houses to the left of me at the end of the street the icicles and snow off the roof have began their down ward slide. The way it looked earlier there's a real danger of it taking the gutter with it.

I might deliberately start mine sliding to avoid the same happening to my gutter, and make sure I'm not in the way of it.

Yes Ann, that journey to and from Blyth should have been a one hour round trip. Due to the severe weather it seemed to take all afternoon.
Check your coolant and oil level and tyre pressures.

Stupid question.... How were so popular and fashionable so long if they were so uncomfortable?

Hope Janes having a good time and manages to get home safely.

Daughter no 1 made it home ok to night after work , she said she just kept at 40 on the dual carriage way as the steering wheel had a mind of it's own, also there were some real nutters flying past her, she was glad to get in the house, she has no work this week until Sunday , so she says she won't be going anywhere at all unless is absouloutly essential in this snow.
Sofia is teething again and has a bit of a cold so it's probably better to keep her in.

Not sure when I'll get back on here tomorrow, OH has a days holl and we have to take daughter no 2 to the hospital to see the Dermatologist(sp)
for treatment on her Alopecia, so we could be there all morning.
Also my dad is being taken into Hospital tomorrow morning , so I do not know what time I will see him, will try to get there in the afternoon.

anyway I'm going to close down for the night, hope you all are keeping warm, and take extra care if you go out tomorrow anywhere.

Night night
xxxxxx

Going back to the winter of 1947. The icicles were from the roof of our house down to the ground. Started at the top about 15 inches round and came down to the point at the bottom. We use to break the small ones off
and suck them like ice lollies.

As you can guess my programme is on T.V. Can't stand it.!!!! to loud for my head. Why can't we have some decent tunes and lyrics. All we get is THUMP THUMP THUMP and thats what they call music. Misserable old B##### arn't I.????

Very cold out there now, I think it's bown to -6 at the moment, and getting colder.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes for my brother.

I see Andre Rieu has a new albumn out with a DVD when he was in Australia. Who knows it might turn up in my xmas stocking.!!!

Jane should be on her way home by now. She might pop in, who knows.

I'm doing what OH does while this freezing weather is with us and putting an extra coat and a hat in the car boot, just in case the car breaks down and I have to wait ages.. I can use an old floormat that is in the boot if a wheel gets stuck. I'm being prepared!! lol

I think we wore them because there was no alternative David. Made our legs look slimmer than being bare and us ladies put up with a lot when young if we thought we looked good!! lol Oh....and we liked the attention we got wearing them too!! lol

Frank I was a tiny baby in the winter of 1947. I bet I didn't get much fresh air in my pram that winter. Those icicles must have been like cell bars!

I'll be having a look at that Andre Rieu DVD/album.........if OH thought I might have stockings to put it in it would make his christmas. lol On that note I'll say night, night too xx

10.17am.

I do hope Jane and Chris got home ok!! Perhaps they stayed somewhere as we have'nt heard from Jane yet.

Frank I am thinking of your brother and hoping he will be back on his feet soon. What a shock to find he had a bypass too but better to know afterwards so you did'nt worry about that too.

Nice to hear from Shirl and know she is ok.

Where has our Sheila gone I hope she has'nt come a cropper on this ice and snow.

Mandy I have taken a pic of the advent wreath but not downloaded them yet. It dos'nt look much without the candles in as the church warden gets those as they are the coloured ones. I much preferred it when we had just white or red candles in it.

Ann it is nice to be pampered is'nt it. I am sure Gordon is making up for the wallet issue.

Morning Everyone
We got home about 11.30 after a clear run there and clear back again. The wedding was lovely as all weddings are.Not on the grand scale as the Dubai one.I got a few pics and will send a couple later but it was rather cramped and being a little short ar** it was difficult to get the camera high enough lol
I managed to hang on to my tights, but was glad to get them off when we got back.My red dress looked nice but I kept finding little beads that had dropped off lol. They must have come loose with me sat on the dress all that time in the car.
It is snowing here at the moment and I need to get to town .Chester has just been dropped home ,and has been a 'good boy'.

I hope Ann has a nice day out and that the weather won't cause any problems.

I wonder what David and Frank dreamt about last night lol
Must go now BBL

Jane/Mel, We old Bu####'s can only dream of yesteryear. But what loverly dreams.

Glad you got back safe and sound. Jane, Did you leave later than you said.??? you were going to leave early in case of the weather.

Son, in Rutland has lots of snow. We just have a very heavy frost minus 4 at present. Snow promised for Wed/Thur.

Heard from one of the sellers of the DVD that went missing. He has offered to send another FOC. direct to me, so I can make sure she gets it. What a kind person. Will contact Ebay and sing his praises. It's nice to be able to have trust in some humans. Not all out for their own means. "Sod you Jack, I'm allright" attitude.

Have bought a couple of extra items for Lewis for Christmas. A new tracksuit with ENGLAND on the back. and a Michael Jackson dance game. (HE LOVED HIM LIKE HIS MUM DID) They will have great times with that.

Hows things with you David, By the looks of things you are having a bad time, weather wise, hope you have plenty of supplies in !!!!

afternoon all
Glad your back safe Jane and you and Chris had a nice time.

Managing to get a quick hello in before my next run to the Hospital to see dad, visiting times 2-3.30 in afternoon and 6.30 -8pm tonight ,
Care home said he was ok when they took him this morning and nurse said he was ok at 11. will see for myself this afternoon

Good news for daughter no 2 after her visit to see Dermitologist (sp) for her alopecia, she has got some kind of tonic to rub in the bald spots instead of having the injections in her scalp, which for everyone was a big sigh of relief,
well I have to go and get all wrapped up OH calling it's nearly time to go.

Afternoon All.
I hope you are all keeping warm.I just had a wander down the garden ,but was back in within a couple of minutes !

Fiona I hope you find your Dad ok this afternoon and not distressed.
The lotion for your daughter sounds much better than injections.I hope it works for her.
I really need to finish these cards,so will get on with them now.

Hi All
I'm back, Dad was calmer than I expected, kept getting up and down off his seat looking for things which is normal
He kept wanting to put his coat on and go home and get things to bring back, I had to tell him I'll go and get things or if we all go he'll lose his seat. gives a grin

OH got the christmas decorations out the loft today, I want to go through them to check that nothing is broken and needs replaced. probably will need bulbs for tree lights, always need to replace them every year. daughter no 2 wants the decorations that I 'm not using this year so she can put them up in dad's house.
off to get a cup of tea.

Jane

Jane Report 29 Nov 2010 15:57

Liz we don't seem to have starlings in our garden .I don't know why.I do remember some years ago though we had loads and they would all fly into the fir trees to sleep and make a real racket with all the chatter.
My problem with the bird food is the Magpies and squirrels.I am just putting the fat cakes and balls up now.At least I know the little birds get that.I don't seem to be able to keep the water in the bird bath defrosted today.

Fiona that must have made you feel a little less worried as your Dad was ok.Hopefully he will stay calm !!!!.I bet you won't hold your breath lol.

Frank I meant to say good news your Brother is doing ok.His toe must have come off because of gangrene!!.Nasty.

I think it is a cup of tea for me now.

Frank

Frank Report 29 Nov 2010 16:14

Good afternoon all,
Still below freezing out there, changed the chickens water three times today. Hope they got enough to drink before it froze over again

Liz, I have thrown out pork fat and rind. What the starlings don't get. the B#### cats get. !!! You can't win.

Caught a company out today. I have a gold bracelet that I haven't worn for over 25 years. Decided to sell it. Had it Valued at over £700.00. They sent me a pack to send it to them. They just rang and said it's only worth £645.00 quite a drop in 3 days.!!! Told them to get it back in post TODAY.
Just checked their site it's now valued over £740.00 !!! Who's trying to make money out of Frankie Boy. No way. they can't kid a kidder. I didn't come over on the last Banana boat. It's not desperate that I sell it. But thought I would test the water.
Doing Pork and Onions in gravy with the potatos, round the meat. Nice and crunchy on top. Cabbage and Runner beans.

Keep warm. BBL
