Drove to Blyth yesterday to collect my laundry and buy a curry. The hardest part was getting on to the main road. Thereafter it was about 30 mph all the way.Traffic spaced out by a hundred yars a piece. Not a lot of traffic thank goodness. We have icicles 2 feet long Recently an aeroplane skidded off the end of the runway at the airport near where I live.Had circled several times before attempting his landing.

Morning!!! Bright sun shine and icy .David it does sound bad your way.I remember that picture of icicles last year Are the ones you have now as long? Still busy then Mel !!!.What will you do when all the decorating is done lol Fiona ,I noticed just now there weren't many cars at the church.I think most people are staying in the warm. Chester went off all in a lather! It seems so strange as his bed has gone too and there is a big empty space. It is quite nice though to not have him pestering me all the time.
I'm going to do my nails now while I have a coffee. BBL

Son and family came this morning ,the little ones were so excited about the snow ,they had been playing out in their garden . We're not going out today hubby wants to see the football ,Norwich v Ipswich ,it's on the Television at 1.00 .
Jane , hope the wedding goes off ok and the snow keeps away ,have a safe journey .
Our Christmas lights are switched on today in the town ,there are amusements and Charity stalls in the market place and the lights are being turned on at about 5.00 Off to sort out some lunch now BBL

Afternoon all,
Had a call from my brother this morning. He came out of hospital last night. Nurse will call each day to change the dressing on his toe. He tell me that when he took himself off to hospital a couple of weeks ago. When the Doctor removed his dressing the little toe FELL OFF. !!! They have removed about two inches of his bone, and removed the gangrine. It will take him about six weeks to get up and about. He has a frame, for when he does.
Had my shower and washed hair (LIKE JANE). have done the veg for dinner.
Turned on TV and on Channal 5 was ANDRIE RIEU in concert in Dublin, Turned the sound right up and lah lahed to the music. What a tonic.
Jane will be on her way now, hope they have a safe journey, to and from the wedding.

If they're keep comming down it would be uncomfortable and awkward. Take them off again and wear stockings and suspenders. What ever happened to them? I'm supprised they never came back into fashion.

I have worn stockings and suspenders years ago not very comfy suspenders kept digging in. you will never have had that experience ?!!! lol Stockings are still very much in fashion but now have elastic tops but most younger ladies just have bare legs. I like wearing tights much warmer especially at this time of the year

Was going to say this morning, when it just posted on it's own. got the gremlins i think. !!
When my brother was in hospital the Doctors found his Arteries were so blocked they also did a TRIPLE BYPASS The family didn't tell me in case I worried. !!
Just been outside, Minus 4 at the moment, will get down to minus 7 tonight. I don't know about TIGHTS. Winter draws more appropriate.

Frank, good that your brother is now out of hospital, lets hope all goes well for him and he's walking with his frame soon.
I only wear tights when we go out for special occasions and i'am wearing a shirt ,usually wear trousers this weather ,don't think i could go back to wearing stockings again ,i think they would feel very strange to wear now after all this time ,i don't think i would risk wearing Hold ups ,would be frightened they might fall down.
Well Norwich has won, while that was on i wrapped some more presents ,still got more to buy ,i try to buy the little ones the same amount of things each and then i buy one of those big christmas bags each to put all their presents in.
Its been a dull day here ,not much of a thaw still plenty of snow about and the road out the front is terrible ,all packed down ice !!! I noticed a Te*co delivery van slipping all over the place out the front he was trying to drive up the slope to the old people's flats beside us ,in the end he got out and walked the shopping up to them.
Easy tea tonight Pizza and home made Wedges ,only because i forgot to take the pork Steaks from the freezer !!! so we'll have them tomorrow.
Forgot the time again 3.27pm !!!!

Evening All,
No more snow here but a good frost again and very slippy on the close. Hope Jane had a good journey and is coping with her tights!! lol I haven't worn any for years either. I used to wear stockings and suspenders, but they were very uncomfy. If mini skirts hadn't come along I wonder how many years it would have been before we got tights.
Frank.......OH told me at lunchtime that Andre had been on! Fat lot of use that was!! lol I wish I'd known I'd have recorded it. That sounds horrid with your brother's toe. Good job they have sorted it now and that they spotted he needed that bypass. Hope he makes a speedy recovery.
You have had a lot more snow Fiona........the kids would be loving playing in it. David, that trip sounded very tiring.......still, better going slow and arriving than the alternative. I have never seen icicles that big. OH had some tiny ones on his car this morning.
I am meeting some friends in the morning about 20 miles away at Loughborough. It is virtually all motorway there so it should be ok. We are having brekkie together at a posh tea-room (tablecloths!!) and giftshop and a having a good old natter. In the evening OH is meeting up with some people from work for a meal at Burton-on-Trent so no cooking to do.
I must scrub out my seedholders and put some food out for the birds tomorrow.....today they just got bread soaked in water. lol
