I'm back, three sheets to the wind, but relaxed. Thanks for all your good wishes. I need them at the moment.

Our local milkman, which I don't use, has artificle legs, and drives the float. I feel I should use him, but it's so much easier to use the super market.

I remember useing pinking shears, for christmas tags. We still have them in the kitchen draw.

I remember Pinking Shears, yes, I think they were for stopping material from fraying! Dull old morning here today, think it may rain; Those poor people in Cornwall, coping with all that flooding would be just AWFUL! Yes, I've noticed Postmen in shorts, right in the middle of winter too! they must be so cold, strange eh?! Hope you enjoy 'Calender Girls' Jane, I shall be interested to hear about it. Must go and clear up!

Morning Liz and all,

Wet here today. Am having terrible trouble with pooter at the moment. It won't stay online if I leave it a little while. Then yesterday evening after Edwardian farm I could'nt get on the net at all, so gave up. This morning I had three attempts to get on here so please excuse me if I don't post much.

Frank sorry to hear the news of your brother. Hope your sister settles well into her new place too.

Liz you asked if I saw the red helicopter yesterday or the day before and yes it flew over our garden as I was feeding the chickens. It was the Devon Air Ambulance.

We raised £55 for the air ambulance at mums furneral.

I removed all the things from the plate rack in the kitchen yesterday and wash them all and have them packed in plastic boxes now out of the way. Still have the room divider to do though. I have done the two top shelves but the bottom two are the worse as I tuck papers down the side, like instructions and library times etc.

Ann good that you enjoyed the film.

Sheila thanks for the doggy pics. They are both sweeties arn't they.

I bought mum some pinking shears years ago and they are still in the machine draw but I cannot use them as they are left handed ones!! There may also be a pair of ordinary shortish sissors that are t he same.

Did you know that if a left handed person uses right handded sissors that they blunt them?????

Mum used to make present tags out of Christmas cards, I found a whole box full when clearing out. She used tosell them for the guide dogs for the blind.

I also have a scrap book of hers that she did a collarge (sp) on the front with Christmas cards. She was very good at that. In fact she was good at a lot of things making wise. She made a big dolls house from a kit and when she had finished it she gave it to our cleaner for her grandchildren. It took her about a year to do and all the furniture to go in it.

Morning Everyone.
Another very grey day.I'm glad you got back in one piece last night Frank and haven't got too bad a head lol.

I like to give to our Air Ambulance Mel.They do a wonderful job.

I'm off at 12 so better get a move on and do a few jobs.I'm going to Aldwinkle Frank. You probably know there.

I'm left handed and can well believe I could blunt right handed scissors.Chris bought me 3 new veg type of scissors and I find them impossible to use .I am sure they are for right handed people.I get so frustrated!!!! Everyone says how awkward I look when I use a bread or carving knife.

Your Mum sounds like my Granny Mel, really good at making things particularly out of 'nothing'. Thanks for telling me about the air ambulance! only thing is OH said that's what it was and sadly he was right!!! No, I didn't know about the left handed sissors!!!! one more thing to worry about?!!!! oh dear these wretched pooters, mine takes AGES sometimes and I shout at it, then it goes off for no reason, or won't connect properly and then asks loads of stupid questions!! what with that and (for me) constant typing errors, it can all be VERY frustrating! OH says it's finger trouble! he'll get finger trouble before he's much older!!!!

I used to love watching mum write.

There seems to be an awful lot of men around here that are left handed. When you live with someone who is you tend to watch others!!

I'm another LEFTIE, When in junior school, I sat with my twin who was right handed, In those days, they would tie my left hand behind my back, to try to make me use my right.
Didn't work, my writting was like a spider been let loose in the ink well. As for seeing other lefties. They look so funny, I always think they should change hands. I have thrown about 4 pairs of sissors away, they seems to pack up on me. after a few weeks, I blamed Ros for buying cheap sissors. Now she's just bought an expensive pair, hope they behave themselves. or I will have to try to find left handed sissors.

Had a good drink last night, and a good nights sleep, my brain and body feels more relaxed this morning.

We are not doing anything today, just laze around in trackies and tea shirt.
Will sort out something quick for dinner tonight, so we can carry on slumming it till bed time. It does you good, once in a while.

We also get a yellow helicopter come over here. I don't know what that one is but I am sure OH will know.

My BIL works on the engines of the Shannook (sp) helicopters. Their workshop is soooooooooooo clean.

Wish I could have a lazy day!!!!! at the moment.

OH is giving the door frames in the hall a coat of gloss paint and he is about to reach the kitchen! I shall have to hide myself in the lounge and try and tidy that up a bit. It is hard though with all the stuff in there at the moment. All the bedroom stuff and mums bedroom stuff and the stuff out of the hall. You can imagine can't you. It is like an assort course in there.

Cakes in the oven!!

Mel just think how nice it will be when its all done
Worth being in a muddle for ?

The neighbour who came round yesterday has just been and asked if he can now have some old containers that hubby had thrown in the skip .

In the night some one has taken an old cane chair that we threw out !!!

At this rate the skip will be empty !!!

Off to wash my floors now

Fiona Report 18 Nov 2010 12:34

mandy , maybe you need to tell neighbours first about your clear out and give them first chioce of your discarded items , then you may not need to get a skip.,lol
I must admit a few years ago my next door neighbours came into an inheritance (we think) because there front lawn had bits of furniture and other items which they were throwing out waiting for the council to pick up. and I was amazed to see what was being thrown out, a lovely sideboard, and cupboards that matched and a 3 peice suite also a childs bed and wardrobe that matched, and it all looked in good condition., they then went on to have a new kitchen put in,
I was dying to ask if I could take a peep when it was all finished but we are friendly enough to say hello but not like my other neighbours on the other side who have lived in the street longer, where I can knock on the door if I need help or any other things

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 18 Nov 2010 12:45

Going to do pizza toast for lunch. It's lovely.

Just toast one side of the bread and then put a nice layer of tom puree on, cheese on top and a sprinkly of basil. Toast under the grill again and there you have it.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 18 Nov 2010 13:11

Fiona a lot of the rubbish in the skip is from a job hubby's been doing ,there's not a lot of room at their house to have a skip and its on a very busy road and lots of school traffic ,so we had it stand out side our house ,it should be going this afternoon .

Some people throw all sorts away ,and some of it is perfectly good stuff too.

Mel that lunch sounds good
I had toasted Cheese Muffins from Morri*ons .
