Just had four Trickers and Treaters!! Didn't have any sweets either Jane, so OH gave the £2! not VERY generous but they seemed pleased! Am going to watch Downton Abbey tonight, Hope I stay awake too!!! Am now going to Google 'Stephen and Matilda', think they were cousins, Matilda's son became Henry 11 (I think!) need to brush up on history here!!! |

Lovely trees Jane, they look like Maples and I like the reflections of them in the water. |

I bet you get a lot of Trick or Treaters where you are Sheila. We have no young children down this Rd now,and we are a fair way from the estate .Plus it is so dark down here .There are hardly any street lights so is a bit dangerous for young children walking down the narrow pavement. |

I recall many years ago 30 40 or more when you were enjoying a pint or three, this guy used to come into the pub carrying a large wicker basket of sea food and shell fish. |

You mentioned snakes and ladders Ann.Did you ever cheat if you thought you were going to land on a snake and try and sneakily slide the counter onto the one either just before of after ?My sister and I used to have major spats and tears.Same with Monopoly.Hiding money !!!!! |

You do say some things Jane, fishy or what. When I was young 60 odd years ago. We had a seafood cart parked outside our local pub. Dad would buy cockles, winkles, Whelks, mussels etc. for Sunday tea. we would (us kids) argue over Mums hat pins, for the winkles. Winkle sandwhich with Peper and vinegar. You would have loved it JANE. !!!!! |

Hi Everyone! Really enjoyed Downton Abbey last night! Coming up to WW1 any minute, which should concentrate minds somewhat!! Was on a site of War poetry last night, and found some really moving poems ; am about to revisit as one caught my eye and I shall write it down in one of my many exercise books!!! Peaceful day today (I hope) Housework and loafing about!! |
