Morning Mel and All Oh dear Mel,your poor Mum.I think this is just the start of wanderings and confusion.Do you have a lock on the front door that she can't undo if she should try and go out again in the night. It was so dark here this morning I just wanted to stay snuggled down. Cloudy again but I don't mind as long as it stays dry.

Morning all,
Not so nice this morning , lots of cloud and no sun .
Oh Mel, poor mum ,what a worry ,could you hang a wind chime on her door so that you could hear it if she opened the door in the night ?or get a pressure mat by her bed so that you could hear if she gets out of bed .
Well i tried the washing powder in the saucepan and its come up a treat with a little elbow grease it now has a lovely shine !!
Right off to do some jobs now BBL

Mel my love,
So sorry to hear about mum. What can I say that's not been said. What does the Doctor think you should do.???? Is there any help from the Social regarding things., like Bed rails, and Mandy's ideas????
Dark misserable day here, and quite cold, they say it should stay dry. But I'm nor going anywhere, so I don't care. I'm allright "JACK"
Mandy, you will have to burn the other saucepans, so they will all look the same !!
You all sound like pyromaniac's setting light to everything. I know when we lived at Gayton. Ros put the oven on, to heat up before putting the meat in. and the grill came on, setting light to the oil the was in a tray. She was upstairs doing some jobs, when the Fire Alarm went off. She rad to the village garage next door, they came round with fire extinguisher's. Put out the fire, but only after it had burnt the Kitchen and doors to the utility room. Firemen called to dampen down everywhere. What an Insurance claim we had.!!!!
Also the 1st week we moved into the post office. The adjoining property was let to a woman who liked a "DRINK", on the Sunday afternoon she went to bed, with a lighted FAG. Yep. the whole flat went up in flames and started to burn through the roof space into our living area.By the time the Firemen were finished if was well after midnight. The children had to go to their Granddads at Earls Barton, and we sleept across the road, with neighbours. The owner of the flat was well insured so we were OK. and I call you Pyromaniacs. lol lol.

Afternoon all So sorry to read about your Mum Mel ,like Jane I have been down the path of the nightly wanderings and confusion with my dad
I agree with what everyone else has said, , it might be worth having a chat to the doctor about seeing if you could get in touch with your local social service department who can in turn arrange for someone to come in and check what help aids are available for your mum , as Frank says, bed rails. alarm system perhaps. Has her mind Just started wandering with the medication she has been taking while she has been unwell, ?
Cloudy day here and very damp & chilly heating on,
Sofia was at the doctors to day for a check up the doctor said she was fine apart from a slightly swollen gland which was normal after a virus, she is to get her MMR vacination this afternoon , poor we soul just got over one thing then it's another.

Hi Everyone,
Mel.....Sorry to hear about your mum. What a worry for you and upsetting too. As others' have already said, a chat with your doctor might be useful. I hope your mum has a settled night and you do too. A good night's sleep makes all the difference in being able to cope with everything. Hope your mum has been able to eat a little something today.
Very grey here and colder too. Living here has made me realise how noisy our cental heating is lol. BIL's is really quiet...don't know it's on. Ours is Boom, Bang, Bang lol
Fiona... Glad Sophia is feeling better...Poor little mite having to face that jab. We have had an appointment through for Mark's first one. He just seems so young and too small. BIL says ... He will be fine... What an old Toughie lol
Frank.. Your story did make me laugh. Guess it must have been a shock at the time though !

Afternoon Everyone,
Oh Mel, how worrying and upsetting to find your mum like that. Time to see what help you can get like everyone says, so that you can have more peace of mind. A really good idea of Mandy's about the wind chimes. The bedrails sounds a good idea too to stop her falling out of bed. If you haven't already claimed, I would think Attendance Allowance at the higher rate would be due as she needs day and night care now.
Ohh lovely biccies! You obviously needed that snooze Frank.......it did you good! After what you just said I hope you checked the cooker wasn't on first. lol
Mandy, glad the saucepan came up well.........I shall remember that tip for the next pan I burn!!
Poor little Sofia, but at least she is on the mend now. I would hate to have to take little ones for their jabs, all those heartbroken tears would make me feel awful. I hate it when I hear them at the docs from the waiting room.

We went a walk around that nice Bradgate Park today where I took the other pics of the deer. OH really enjoyed it in the sunshine. There was a bit of drama too, as we heard 2 of the stags clashing their antlers in a fight......rutting season I think. It was behind one of the high stone walls where they were fighting and there are slots left in the walls here and there that you can see through. They were having a right tussle and came charging right along the wall where we were watching. The challenger was cornered a bit further along and after more clashes it went quiet. We walked down along the wall, there were no slots at this point, but could hear panting and gasping for breath. OH climbed up the wall to look over and one stag was slumped on it's side on the bank up to the wall with the other standing over it and jabbing it in the side with it's antlers every few minutes he said. Eventually the victor moved back and after some pawing of the ground and bellowing moved off towards his ladies. The other poor thing was still lying there panting heavily ten minutes after. It didn't look injured, but someone had gone off to find a ranger just in case when we left. OH was thrilled as he had never seen them fight before. I would loved to have got some pics, but my battery had run out by then!!! Typical!. I will send 1 or 2 pics I did get as there is a nice one of a stag fast asleep in the sun........maybe he was resting after a fight.

evening all Yes Catie your BIL is probably right Mark will be ok after his first jab, it was daughter who burst into tears when Sofia had her first one. Sofia did cry for a few seconds when the needle went in but after that she was fine, we didn't even need to give her any calpol , she has had quite a few jabs now and has been ok with them all. but as she has became older daughter has given her 1 calpol before we went to the Drs , today was her 13 months jab MMR , and that is the last one she will get till she is between 3-4 years old so we have a nice long rest. Catie if they do the inoculations the same way as here in Scotland Mark will get them in his thigh which is much better than the arm more chubby fat there.

Catie ,what I want to know is who is taking Mark for his first jab??????Is it you or your B IL lol Before I forget I was going to tell you a little story . When I was about 5/6 a girl from my school came to stay with us as her Mum was in hospital.I think she was with us for about a month. We shared the bedroom .To be honest I can't really remember much about her being there.Anyway,My Mum told me (maybe 20 years ago) that one night when Carol was staying with us ,Mum heard a noise and it sounded like the front door opening, she then heard what she thought were footsteps in the Hall. When she got up she found my bedroom door pushed open and the front door open too.In the morning a message came to say that Carol's Mum had passed away .......and it was at the time that Mum heard these strange things.Mum was never one to believe in Ghosts or Spirits or the like. She wondered if it was Carol's Mum coming to say goodbye to her !! I hope this hasn't spooked anyone.

Interesting story Jane. I remember in 2001 during the summer the whole family including my dad, went to the south of France for our holidays. it was the first time (and the last) we took dad on holiday since mum had died. anyway dad was acting very strange when we got there, he would not let me out of his sight in the airport i couldn't go to look at the shops without him trailing behind me and he would always be complaining about the food.
we had booked into a villa thought it was better than a hotel because of dad being so clingy , I did not want him wandering and getting lost. I think we knew that something was not quite right with him. so right from the minute we got there that day dad kept saying someone is following me all the time, we didn't understand what he ment. at night he would go round the windows trying the locks to make sure the were shut. he would try every door inside and out. to make sure it was locked. and would not go to bed till we all went. one morning when we came down stairs he was already down he said have you met the lady yet, I thought he ment some lady had come to the villa to see us maybe the owner. I said no what is she like his answer was "a tall lady with a long white dress came to visit me last night while I was in bed she said she was glad I had come to stay in her house and that I would be alright. He really spooked me out I thought he must have been dreaming, so much that night and the following nights I was scared to go to sleep incase I had a visit from the white lady. OH told me to not be so daft, it was then in the November dad was diagnosed with dementia. I wanted to ask the owner if anyone had died in that house but OH said they (the owners would probably think me nuts.

I would have had to ask Fiona lol.I doubt they would have thought you nuts especially if you had mentioned what your Dad said.I never know what to think about these things.I am open minded to whatever might be.I can't say I am a believer or a non believer.I just don't know. Maybe your Dad did see something.Weird isn't it!
