Morning All,

There is rain in the air here this morning and it's dull with grey skies.

Jane I can find two weddings for a Thomas Cole and an Ann but they are not in Burrington. One is in Ashreigney 1784 and the other is in Paignton 1782.
This one is extracted so can be relied on but the other one is a recorded one which could be wrong.

Spouse: ANN JORDAIN Family
Marriage: 15 OCT 1782 Paignton, Devon, England

Now I may have lived here in Devon for 20 years but I am not sure which one if either would be near to Burrington!!!!! Shall have to have a look on the map!! and it could still be neither! I was gpoing by the Christenings I sent you and I think their first child was born in 1787.

Morning All,

Dull but dry here. I am the same Fiona! I have so many cheap notepads on the go with bits of FH in them and lots of papers over the surfaces. lol Yesterday we cleared out our little office where the computer is and swapped bookcases. We each have one, but OH stacks stuff in front of mine so I can't get to it, so I told him he could have mine instead!! lol Well, the floor is quite clear now as we have tended to dump things without a home in there. Two bags for the charity shop and the paper bin is full of old magazines and brochures I'd kept. The tops are pretty clear too. Now I have to go through all my notebooks and papers and make sure I have all the info on my tree before I chuck anything away. Then I need to rewrite all the 'might be connected' info into ONE notebook. lol

That fish was a real whopper wasn't it.

We have just been looking for a new kitchen light fitting at B*Q. After we looked for ages OH said he liked the old one!!! I have to get up on the stool and look at it.......sure it has rust on it at the top!!

Frank, that is not an easy job.......you do seem to like taking risks!! lol

I'm getting the marrow prepared for later next, then we are off to see the film Inception and a nice icecream!

I really must go to a car boot ....it's been ages since I went. I always feel a bit excited when I go as you never know what you will find.

Still been raining here on and off. I have washed mums bed sheet and I don't know whether to put them out or not!

I have to go into Holsworthy this afternoon for chicken food and some bits. Bet if I go and don't put it out it won't rain anymore. If I do put it out it is bound to rain!!! Shall I, shan't I, Shall I, Shan't I?

Thought I'd better get on here while the computer is behaving itself, you never know it could switch itself off any minute.

Guess whose got the kitty. D-i-l decided he was too much to cope with what with the baby, three cats and the new house. He is soooo sweeeeet.
Photos on their way soon. We have called him Alfie but he is not out of the woods yet. Took him this morning to the vet, they're not sure if he is blind or may have partial sight, I thought he could see things, they also said he might be deaf. He walks really oddly, someone said he looked liked a Gremlin and I thought CHEEK, but actually he does a bit his legs are too long for his body and when he gets a bit of speed up he sort of gallops, the vet thinks he may have brain damage from the fall. The good news is his cleft pallet is closing. He is fast asleep at the moment, sometimes he just sits really still and looks like a little lost soul but he does play too and boy are his claws and teeth sharp, like needles.

Took me ages to do the ironing yesterday Jane, I kept stopping to sit and have a cuddle.

Dull day today but at least it's not raining.

Talking of bikinis I used to have a few but my favourite was a brown one with yellow polka dots. Good job you didn't go swimiing in your white one Fiona, it would have been very transparent once it was wet. Does anyone remember that song "Itzy, Bitzy, Teeny, Weeny, yellow polka dot bikini that she wore for the first time today"

hI Jane Ho got a thirty pound fine today for parking 1/4 of a inch over the white line outside a Chinese restaurant .He took me and Jessica who is down from Wales while her ho is away in New York he sings in a Welsh
choir all over the world. April is with his mum so Jess popped down to see
ho not being well. We paid extra to park and when we came out ho was telling this guy who gave him the ticket look its 1/4 of a inch thats all and he
he said it says there must not park over the white line. He gave the women in the car next to us a fine aslo and she blamed my ho and said if he had not
been parked over the line she would have had more room. Ho was looking
really fed up not being well and I said to this women look its 1/4 of a inch
thats all she said have you measured then looks more to me How the english stick together. Then when I got home Beryl arrived and I was
mowing the grass and the lead went into some bird poo not very nice and Beryl grabbed the lead in the middle and stuck it in a bowl of Jaspers water
I could not believe my eyes. I said are you mad you could have electrocuted yourself. She said that would be a first I said no Beryl that would be a last. Jasper bought his ball dropped it at her feet and she said Oh that dog would love to turn him into pork sausages .I said turn a dog into pork saugages she said haha hot dogs then. Then she said better still why dont
you have him stuffed take him to one of those dermatologists I said said you mean taxerdermist and she said well whatever. I said you are horrible pity I did not stuff you yesterday with your fag in your mouth when you made that remark about the Mcdonalds and the beefbergers I said that cost me
six pound each and we did not see that film or have anything to eat she said
well they needed something to liven them up. I said would you please go now I have had enough for today and its been expensive she said that will teach you to eat out without me. I did not answer her I think she is funny but
sometimes she goes a bit far. I am going to give myself a rest from her
for a week or two. Like to give her up altogether but would feel sad later on we go a long way back. I did laugh with Jess after she had gone she is so
funny gets her words all wrong and does daft things.

I think I might be in for a gloomy evening.Chris had to see a 52 year old lady today who has just been discharged from hospital with an inoperable brain tumour. She is a single mum with a 17 year old daughter. He does sometimes get affected by some of the things he has to deal with.He emailed me to tell me ,so I think was warning me he won't be a happy bunny.

What a terrible thing Jane. That poor women.

Back from Hols. and I did'nt put the washing out and it did'nt rain!!!!!! Sods law!!!!

Poor Jasper, hog dogs indeed. Naughty Beryl once again!!!

Sheila did you get my fairy pics??

Jane if the Thomas Cole is the one married in Ashreiney which is not that far from Burrington, there is a recorded record about his parents and more about Elizabeth Puddicombe, but it may not be the right ones!!!!!! There are a couple of trees on Ancestry with Samuel and Elizabeth as his parents. Do you want me to send you the info please?

Sheila

Sheila Report 18 Aug 2010 18:45

Oh what a shame Jane I think it is a £25 pound fine and 50 if you do not pay it within two weeks. I have just told Beryl lets give it a break I have had enough for a while.
I had a week off from the charity shop and seen her everyday because she was fed up. That is awful for that poor lady always somebody worse off .He must get a lot of
trauma being a doctor hope he is not badly effected by that news.

Sheila

Sheila Report 18 Aug 2010 18:50
