Dear All

Hello

Pentecost or Whitsunday is celebrated on the Sunday which falls on the 50th day after the Easter festival.

Pentecost celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit to the followers of Jesus, as recorded in the New Testament. The disciples began to go out and preach about Jesus.

Pentecost is recognised as the birth of the Christian Church.
The Apostle Peter preached a sermon which resulted in 3,000 people becoming believers.

Traditionally, Whitsun was the time for walks and processions.

This day is also popular for baptisms and a lot of churches hold celebrations and weather permitting, an outdoor lunch.

If you are going to a special service, travel safely.

Take gentle care
Very best wishes
xx
