Alas not in my personal circle, but we can but dream.

Pleased to say that John Simm was lovely, he spoke to a couple of kids that were in at the same time as him.

Not like some of the celebs that frequent our shop.

No names, no pack drill.

Yes - not long now.

Haven't felt this excited since I last bought a bag of chocolate raisins.

lol

10.05 Orf to work now girls, back later on to chew the fat.
10.0l tonight this thread will explode.

lol

I'm totally jealous now. Sam and Gene in your personal social circle and you haven't asked them how it ends? I can't believe it!!

Not that they would tell you, I'm sure.

Not long now - 11 hours and 14 minutes

Beverly,he was lovely, very tiny face. He had just finished filming Doctor Who, and was going on to star in a play in the West End. Something a bit more heavy, could have been Chekov, but yet again I could be talking total bollards.

Sorry Muffy, but Phil Glenister [look on personal terms] plays golf where my son in law works.

This is nothing to do with the question in hand.

WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN.

Muffyxx Report 21 May 2010 09:36

LOL I'm strictly a Gene Hunt kinda gal lol xx

Beverley Report 21 May 2010 09:34

Wow

[Takes arm away from Motowngal's shoulders as she doesn't need it] You mean YOU'VE MET SAM????? And I thought you needed sympathy?

[Grinds teeth even more than MTG does at sight of Sam's wife]

MotownGal Report 21 May 2010 09:32

Thank you, I'm sobbing silently now.

I've got LOM on DVD and dip into it now and then, for a quick fix. Darling son Dave bought it for me, he realises what a fruit loop his dear old mum is.

John Sim comes into the shop I work in, [with his wife, grinds teeth, and his adorable baby] he is loooooooovely.

I hum that song to myself 'It should have been me'

lolololol

Muffyxx Report 21 May 2010 09:31

I just want it over and done with now too.

What I'm finding the hardest thing is trying to tie up LOM with A2A's...can only think that Sam topping himself in 2006/7 was the catalyst for Alex's arrival...he wasn't supposed to have done that so she arrived in his place...especially once he'd disappeared in 1980 in that world too .

BUT still doesn't answer WHY they went there...unless it was to move Gene to where he needed to go on to...maybe Gene is just a symbolism for another way of life and not a person at all...symbolising all that was old and tired about the police force of those days...and once he went it all renewed???? nope...forget that...rubbish theory..I really am just typing out *for instances* and they're not fitting lol.

it's going to drive me bonkers all day x

[Hugs Motown Girl and tries to conole her]

Don't worry - they won't let us down. Did they let us down in LOM? What an ending that was!!

Just think - it could be like the American version but we won't believe that will we.

Saw that on Youtube last night

[Turns away in disgust]

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 21 May 2010 09:19

Do you know what. I'm getting very fidgity now, cos I think the ending is gonna be one big anti-climax, and I will be left feeling cheated.

[huge tear slowly running down my cheek, and plopping on the keyboard]

Are they as salty as the brown ones.

Beverley Report 21 May 2010 09:12

Oh yes - I forgot that bit!!

And that's why it crashes - the Audi is overloaded.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 21 May 2010 09:10

BLIMEY. That is a theory and a half.

Bit barmy, but not half as barmy as some of mine.

Be a bit crowded in that car if they were all in it wouldnt it.

Wonder if there will be a cameo from David Bowie as the Unknown Copper.

NOW THAT WOULD BE A TURN UP FOR THE BOOKS.

Beverley

Beverley Report 21 May 2010 09:05

Here is my prediction for the end but I don't expect it to be right.

There will be a car crash with Alex, Chris, Ray and Shaz (the Audi of course) with Gene driving. All but Gene are killed - Jim sees it all. Alex, Chris, Ray and Shaz go forward to 2010 and meet Sam, the unknown policeman, Viv and Nelson. Jim is also there but 30 years older. He takes the credit for the wonderful police system in the 21st century and says it's because he got Gene for all their 'deaths'. They all go onto the roof, Gene Genie/Ashes to Ashes/Life on Mars (they could be there a while) is played, the all hold hands and JUMP......

Gene gets saved, the police carries on as it was etc.

Everything else is a red herring.

Muffyxx Report 21 May 2010 09:04

Apparently they kiss tonight Motowngirl ....Keeley Hawes says there's an 8 minute *goodbye*

*adds a box of Kleenex to the shopping list*

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 21 May 2010 09:02

Oh Lor, the more we find out, we less we know.

MAYBE - Alex is Genes' mother. She has been sent back to take him to a better place, rather than in purda.

MAYBE - that is why they did not kiss, when True was playing, cos that WOULD BE WRONG. Like in Back to the Future with Marty and his Mom.

MAYBE - I'm clutching at blooming big bales of straw here.

COS I JUST DONT KNOW.

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 21 May 2010 08:53

I'd be really disappointed if the explanation was just a *bobby ewing moment*.

I still think 1953 is relevant...even more so having seen the most recent trailer...when they're in the barn on the Lancashire farmhouse and Alex says *do I mean nothing to you Gene?* there are Union Jack banners behind him....so I think whatever happened ...happened there in 1953.Coronation year.

I don't want it to be but I'm now thinking the body may be a young Gene himself..and that he's the ghost copper killed in 1953 and that Keats is up to mischief putting Alex off track and trying to set Gene up as the baddie.I think it's time for Gene to go on to wherever he goes next and that Keats is a soul catcher (please don't shoot me for that one it's the best I can come up with lol)...i just can't get out of my mind how he was with that bent lady policeman Louise and with Viv who was clearly terrified at his hands on him...

The bit on the trailer where she says *well i'm not leaving him like this*

LIKE WHAT????...about to evaporate in a puff of smoke now they've (in the words of Danny Boy) *said an Ave for me*?????

...In the words of DI Drake....your guess is as good as mine lol xx

La La Land is very nice this bright, beautiful sunny morning in Old London town.

Yes Aunty Sherlock, you are right.

1. It is a TV prog. It is a cult TV prog.
1. it is about Gene Hunt, the actor Philip Glenister.
He is what we Londoners call 'a bit of rough totty'
3. No we cannot comprehend what the heck it is about.
4. It strains the brain cells, cos it makes no sense.
5. Ditto 3.
6. We hope the last episode tonight will explain all.

Yay to the Marx brothers. Mel Brooks, uh-uh a bit iffy.

How did The Sullivans end, the series just got cut off here.
What happened to Tom and Dave.

HOWEVER, BACK TO THE PLOT.

Could it be that when they hear Nelson the Bartender, they are ALL IN A COMA, as the cars they were in [the last episode of Life on Mars] crashed.

Are we having a Bobby Ewing moment.

Now Karen don't tell me you can't understand this lovely thread. Why look at all those words, and phrases and sentences and paragraphs, not to mention the punctuation!!

I have worked out the following, if you can follow me

1. It is a TV program
2. It must be about a person called Gene Hunt
3. Comprehension of the plot requires careful attention to each episode.
4. It strains the brain cells of those who watch.
5. Intelligent persons find the synopsis and the daily updates completely and utterly incomprehensible.
6. No one is going to explain, because they don't know.

Thank goodness for the Marx Brothers and Mel Brooks.
