The cancer gene runs in our family. We have the motto live for today and do.
Mum died at 48, sister had a lumpectomy , followed by a mastectomy, she is doing great.
Oldest brother lost his fight aged 68, next oldest had successful treatment for lung cancer, third brother currently fighting prostate cancer and not losing at the moment.
The secret is to see that we will all die of something at some time, the difference with us is that while we know what we will die of, we keep a careful eye on body changes so that when it comes we get treatment early so that with treatment we will live a normal life span.
Cancer does not always mean imminent death.Good Luck to your sis.

Thank you Liz....l really enjoy having them here, we have a great laugh, just unfortunately other things are going on around us, but she was unaware of that!!
Had email from Vics neice this morning.....she got her dad to hospital, he weighs approx 100lbs!!!!!! which is about 7st, l knew he had lost weight but blimey. Anyways he's home now has a new inhaler and l think an oxygen tank. They were amazed he was sent home!!
Her mum is still improving slowly, so perhaps what ever she had/has is getting better, still waiting for results tomorrow though!! She must have felt awful, feeling so ill herself and worrying about her OH. Vic is feeling more positive now about them!

Thanks again everyone your positive thoughts mean alot, we still have to hear from my sister so keep those thoughts coming!!

Hi Jude, sending positive thoughts for you and all your family, you seem to be supporting a lot of folk at the mo which can be draining, take care of yourself as much as caring for the others. Hope you soon get some better news from your poorly people.
It's nice that you can still enjoy spending time with your friend, it must make you sad to see her deteriorate but what loving support you are giving her and probably helping her o.h. get a bit of a break too.

Jude, you and your family have all my sympathy - it's such a horrible time. I know from experience - twice! First time 24 years ago and again, well ditto Sylvia's experience in 1995. Do hope it's been caught early and when all the horror and fear start to slowly recede, she will go on to live a full and happy life. There's plenty of us still going strong years later and the treatment and aftercare is so good these days, in this country and the US. My thoughts and best wishes to you and your sister. x

Hello Jean & Daff.....

Vic phoned earlier and we've just received an email.
She is still not at all well, but they won't get any reslts until next wednesday.she had more blood taken today. She says she's never felt so sick and its so hard not knowing what it is!! Her OH is coughing aswell now and is on antibiotics, he was given steroids too but won't take them as they bring him out in a rash!! The abdomen was'nt mentioned, so don't know if thats part of the symptoms or something seperate.
Vic is going to ring her in a few days, probably Monday.
We have friends here at the moment, my friend with alzheimers bless her, so in a way it will be best to wait till Monday. She has changed alot :o(( although l can understand most of what she says, we usually get there in the end.
l probably won't here from my sister for a few days, once l know about her results l will get back on here.

Thanks for all your positive thoughts, they are much needed at present.
Also for my son, he's having a rough time of it too!!

love jude xx
PS Jean..l will email you over the next few days:o) x
