~`*`Jude`*`~ Report 27 May 2010 10:00

Just to update you....

My sister in usa is having her double masectomy tomorrow bless her, she's had such an awful week worrying about it. Everything has been organised re the boys, who's having them and when etc, she's been busy in the back yard (as they call it), its quite big really and getting the house all ship shape. Her daughter is going to be there for her to help (she is just such a lovely girl). We have each others mobile numbers etc...........
So its fingers crossed and positive thoughts now:o))))

Vic sister is having her 2nd months session of treatment,( 2 sessons per month), she has to go Tues and Wed, yesterdays would have beenthe worst!!. Her hisband is doing really well and is driving about again, has his oxygen tank with him 24-7.

My b i l fell in the river Wye a few weeks ago, infact he and my Vic were canoeing and they capsized. He said it was the most frightening thing being dragged along holding onto the canoe and hitting the rocks. l had a phone call from Vic to say what had happened and had to dash to the canoe depot with blankets and dry clothes etc, what a staight they were in. It was b i l birthday present, don't think he wants to go again!!!! We had to call an ambulance, fortunately he had'nt broken anything. His knees are almost heeled now, but he now has gout in his foot and is in so much pain.

Other than that we are fine:o))

Hi Jude,

Let's hope the chemo doesn't make your s.i.l. too unwell, some people's bodies seem to cope better than others. I hope her hubby continues to do well, what a worry for them both.

It's a long wait for your sister's op, hope it goes well, and she got over the shock of your offer to help lol I hope all goes ok for her

Hello Jean:o)
Yes quite agree with you:o)

Sister in law has Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, is awaiting results now from Bone marrow, this will help them decide how much chemo she'll need, either 1 or upto 3 days a month.
Its better news really and she won't need the operation now:o)

Waiting to hear from my sister.....l offered to go out there and help her, l think she's in shock...lol

Jude, glad your sister has been in contact. It does seem a long time to wait before her mastectomy, I agree. But other countries are not so fortunate as us, as I reckon Dutch would agree. I think her diabetic care is very poor, but it all has to be paid for by insurance, privately.

S i l should get her spleen results soon!! Maybe tomorrow!

My sister...had her gene's test results and they are all fine, so her daughter does'nt have to go through all the checks, nor do l, my sisters over here and my daughter:o))))
Her ovaries don't have to be removed either:o))
Her double mastectomy is booked for 28th May, still such along time to wait poor girl.

We had email and phone call yesterday from Vic's sister......she may have to have her spleen removed. They sill don't know whats wrong with her, but her spleen is enlarged. Although she's eating abit more now she is still coughing badly and gets very tired. l gather the abdomen scans were for the spleen!!
Her husband is still not at all well and hardly doing anything, especially eating, he weighs approx 100lbs. He has emphersemia (sp) .

Still not heard from my sister and l have emailed her, so l am abit anxious now!!

Deanna....how are you??

Positive thoughts to all who have relatives fighting the big C, having lost my Dad to lung cancer and more recently a good friend, and knowing other friends have been touched by this illness, I can only be thankful that there hasn't been more of it in my own family. I am always concerned with any changes in myself, but have all the checks that are offered and can do no more, other than try to eat healthily and sensibly, most of the time and trust to fate.
