Well, at least it is cooler now Plenty of cloud here today Last night was so sticky I wanted the heat to go away !
I wished it warm in winter but that was just too much I want my childhood summers back with just a tender touch
Of summer warmth and a cool breeze blowing Was that global warming without me really knowing?
Chrispy ,you are a saint To save roses as you do No doubt about it Off to Chelsea flower show for you !
Tina, I raise my glass But I will pass on the red My favourite tipple will be a Chardonnay instead..lol

We tried to keep the house warm With heaters in every room Little did we know A heat wave would come soon
My water barrels are empty Plants wilt and hang their heads I'm saving all my bath water Id hate to see my roses dead!

Phew, Chrispy, hope your boiler is fixed but you won't need it now The temperature has soared today Hotter than Spain, somehow ! The garden is parched of water So the hose pipe comes out soon
Then sit with a glass of sparkling wine 'Til the sun is swapped by the moon

Scotland is so far away if travelling by road But we make a day of it to relieve the 'heavy' load Stopping off for picnics taking photos on the way It may seem such a journey but you can make it in a day Then a nice B+B later take the road bridge to Skye or a Calmac ferry from Oban and hear the seagulls cry On the way to Lewis in the Outer Hebrides Oh Chrispy you can do it It would be such a breeze !

Maggie, I do.love.Scotland But it is so far to go. When I was younger we visited Every winter, in spite of snow.
We would drive up after Christmas, See trees covered with fairy lights, Pop in and out of shops like Jenners And visit nearby sights.
In summer we took the high road, Visited Crieff, Oban and even Skye But now it all seems so far away. I really wonder why.

We have had a broken boiler, The house was cold as ice getting up in the morning Wasn't very nice!!
We had electric heaters And a real coal fire at night We phoned the boiler menders To explain our plight!
Did they rush to help us? Although the boiler still had a guarantee. No they would not repair it We hadn't had it serviced regularly!!!
But now the weather has turned warmer, Things are not so dire. Though in the late evening I still like to sit by the fire.
Maggie is off to Scotland, Woolly jumpers she will take. Mountains, lochs and brooding skies, Maggie, have a wonderful break!

Gordon, Dave or Nick, Who's it going to be? When it all comes down to it, 'Tis about their policy To get this country straight again, With each manifesto best. Who have we believed in, Who has most impressed?
The time for speculation's past, The crosses penned, the die is cast, The bell's been rung - is it won or hung? Let's hope for a welcome blast, at last . . . . OF FRESH AIR!!!

Tomorrow we will know Who the country has voted in. Will he keep his promises Can we rely on him?

Soon it will be all over and the media will have a rest And whatever happens ladies we know we've done our best !
So,soon be back to normal when the news will be 'news' and a report on new dresses and the latest fashion in shoes
And where to go for holidays Like adverts at Christmas time And politics will be off the air and the telly will be mine !

Oh! what a good night was had by all My daughter was the belle of the ball I was dressed in all my 'bling' Heels so high, beginning to sting!
I was nominated for an Oscar as an Oscar theme night it was But, just beaten by a better foe It went right to the 'boss'
The biggest Oscar of the night was won by daugher (oh so naughty) For the best drama award "I can't believe I'm forty"
So now I am recovering from a weekend of excess Bling away, heels away along with the little black dress !
