Oh Tina, I had to laugh.
A strip show if you please!
No one would come to see my act
For I have such knobbly knees!!

And Maggie,I don't want my room in red
So you won't get an invite.
No painting parties or changing rooms
I want it light and bright.!


But first, the plaster is a sight
Cracks, lumps and signs of age.
We are going to have it plastered again.
That is hopefully the next stage.

Now, ladies, I am going
Away for a day or two
But do be re assured.
I will be thinking of you!

Lolol Tina, I thought the same
then I read it all again

Now I see that Chrispy
is in a lot of pain

suffering from exhaustion
from stripping all day long

I think that she should take a break
and ask us all along

We could do a 'changing rooms'
and paint rooms in red and blue

Then end up drinking a glass of wine
Chink glasses and say 'here's to you'

I read your thread too quick.....!!
I saw that you`d been stripping-
thought " she`ll end up in the nick!"

I thought "she`s working at a strip show...
lap dancing and the like"....
I had to read your thread again
and thought " What am I like !!!"

But well done on your efforts,
It is tiring work I know,
(but a sneaky thought inside me said
please invite us to the show !!)

Tina, what good news.
A new baby to come
It will be oh so lovely,
Be it a daughter
Or a son.

Now, I have been stripping
woodchip paper from my wall.
And I can really tell you
It sure was not a ball!!

The paint on top
was so thick
No matter how hard I tried.
I just could not be quick!

I did it all in stages,
A little bit over several days.
And now I am lying here.
In an exhausted haze!!!

Aaah, Do you know, Maggie,
I`d love to do that....
it would be so nice
to meet & have a chat !

but we live in the same town
We just got chatting here on GR
and on a couple of Poetry forums

We have so much in common
and good friends we have become
We meet and chat for England !

get rid of it in one big throw,

with time for my friends !

Been busy tidying up
a few stray ends

Chrispy,this is what you should do
get a skip and fill it, do

Take pictures to the charity store
They'll take tables too and so much more

Then paint the room a nice shade of blue
There, a guest room, enough room for two.

A friend of mine
Said today
'We are having visitors
To stay.'
Could I have
Visitors to stay?
The answer is
NO way, no way!
My spare room
Is filled with broken TVs
Outdated, outmoded
redundant PCs.
Old suitcases and pictures
Are piled on the floor,
It's almost impossible
To open the door.
In the shower room
Vacuum cleaners!
I counted four.
I don't think there
Is room for more.
We have
Tables and chairs
Mother in law threw out
I've got beyond
The urge to shout.
The time will come very soon
When we will run out of room
Something will have to give,
I might have to find somewhere
To live!

Where is everyone?
Are you sipping Pimms
In the sun?
It has been too hot
For me,
I'd love a day
By the sea.
The heat makes me
Feel worn out.
I can hardly get about.
My roses are drooping.
We've had no rain
I shall have to water
them again.

Well done Maggie,
W hat a journey you've had.
But I know your cousins
Will be so glad.
And of course,
they'll think of you
And be grateful
For all you do!

I am pleased

Were able to meet.
And wonder how you

Well we did meet
Stella and me
and I showed my holiday pics
We had a good chat
about this and that
Over a coffee and bics

But excited to tell you
after a years research
I have united a cousin of mine
with her birth cousin in Ireland
It almost blew my mind !

The goal achieved
I should feel proud
But tears are stinging my eyes
When these two people meet
They’ll be swept off their feet
In a moment of sheer surprise

The road has been long
Despairing at times
But my heart now skips with glee
When these hearts join
After sixty five long years
I ‘m sure they’ll think about me !

well the romance is just a bit flat
nothing else i can say about that
the painting well that was much better
i liked it more he's no go getter
my poetry 's coming on a treat
wednesday Maggie i will meet
for coffee and a bit of chat
not about romance i'm fed up with that.
maybe i will get to see
some pictures from her holidee
am off to bed now cos its late
just had some toast and it was great

I am absolutely fine now
My tummy bug cleared and gone
Now ask me about my camera
Well, that is another one

I ordered one from Comet
last Wednesday so thats okay
for delivery on Friday
Oh it's not here today

So off I trot to Argos
and this young man helped so much
And I am now a proud owner
of a camera,delicate to the touch

Cos I have to get used to
the buttons on this thing
Pity he didn't say
If you have problems,give me a ring !

I'd like to visit that far off land.
Especially to see domes of gold
And hear church bells ringing in the cold.

now theres a thought...would I return ?
I`d need to work so I could earn,
as it costs alot- but ship so nice,
usually I`d say "YES" in a trice !
but the weather that far north no fun,
(but we actually saw the `Midnight Sun!)
The buildings?, lovely, domes of gold,
churches ringing bells so bold,
old tiled rooves spires & towers,
I`ve cam-corder film that goes for hours !!
My answer then ,can you guess ?
I think that I would have to say YES !!!

Oh Tina, I'm sorry you have been ill
And presented with an awful bill!
And had to queue for hours in the rain.
Will you go there again?

HELLO ! HELLO ! HELLO my friends !
I`m back ( and was I pleased !)
the ship was great,the trip was nice,
all going well....until I sneezed !!

Russia is not the place, I fear,
to be feeling rough with a cold!
an hour and a half they made us wait
out in the rain so cold,
to get back on our ship we queued
no cover or no seats.
their Immigration , oh so slow,
I wanted to crawl between the sheets !

Chest infection & sinuses
followed pretty soon.
I`d seen the Ships Doctor
next day, well before noon.
One hundred & eighty three dollars he charged me
and I also missed out on two trips, you see,
but Finland & Sweden were warm & nice
so went ashore to see what I could see !

So ,yes, my holiday was good,
the weather could have been better,
the food on the ship was mmmmmmm all the way
(and the drinks made my throat wetter !)

But work again, I`ve just got back,
the weather here sooooo hot !
that all the girls I work with
have got the tans that I have NOT !! lol !
