Ah Chrispy ! no cat ? never mind,
the thought was there I know,
I don`t have one either you know,
it`s dogs I like, with a stick to throw,
a brisk walk out when the wind doth blow (!)
and losing your chair to a dog I know,
(although, alas, he`s here no more,
in that chair he loved to snore!)
and when out walking he didn`t want to go.....
until you wanted to return, when, the cheeky so-and -so,
decided that HE would decide where we would go !
(and would you argue with a Bulldog....NO !)
Big sticks would litter the garden where he left them by the gate,
and he would be there by the door, even if I were late,
Oh, yes, we had our problems, but also ,what a lark !
being with that faithful dog...who HAD to have the last bark !!

I had to say to Tina,
I understand your pleasure
Browsing through baby clothes,
Choosing new ones
At your leisure.
Of course you are excited,
Anyone would be.
A new grt grandson on the way
Your delight is plain to see!

And I thought I would tell you that,
No I haven't got a cat!!

I did love Northumberland
Heather purple,skies so blue
Looking across Kielder water
Enjoying the spectacular view.
I loved the miles of moorland,
No other cars to see,
Villages bathing in sunlight,
Days passing peacefully.
I loved the rolling sand dunes,
Horses galloping on the beach
Castles, Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh,
History within our reach.
I loved the gardens at Cragside
But much more I want to see,
Can I plan to go again
Is it meant to be?

hello all, hope you are well ?
not been here for a while,
but popped back here to have a read,
it always makes me smile !

Chrispy, have you got that cat ?
I know the roads a worry,
but lots of cats live close to roads
with no problem with car or lorry.

I was shopping earlier,
and although I didn`t mean,
I just couldn`t resist some blue baby clothes,
the lovliest you`ve ever seen !!

and so she would feel left out,
a special t-shirt I also bought,
grt grd dght will just love it
(but I spent more than I ought !!!)
Ho Hum !!

So pleased you loved Northumberland
It is a lovely place
With golden sandy beaches
and lots of open space

Now ,Chrispy, cats are versatile
They fit in with where they live
Remember they have nine lives
With such a lot of love to give

So get yourself a tabby
Or a lovely smokey grey
Life is too short to worry
Get a cat TODAY !!

Have I ever told
you that
I would like to move
and have a cat.
A tabby one with
a bib that's white
or one that's inky black
like the night,
or marmalade,
or smokey grey.
But I know I
have to stay
My home by a road
where drivers
do not heed
Signs showing
they should not speed.
So I will
daydream that
one day I will
have a cat.

Hi again to you all,
I've read your rhymes with care
And write to say I loved Northumberland
And wished that you were there.

Tina, I am pleased
The A level results were fine
And to hear you're having a great grandson
Celebrate with a glass of wine.

Maggie, I read all of your news
And felt so very sorry
That you suffer
From winter blues!

It's something that I also
Do suffer from.
I've tried different remedies,
But nothing can be done!

So we will just keep
Rhyming on here
A chat, a laugh, a trouble shared
And a drop of Ron's free beer!!

Oh Tina how lovely to be buying blue
I really am so pleased for you

I am now a great aunt for the 12th time
to a little boy in OZ
Don't know when I will get to see him
a long way away of course.

PM me your Irish rellies
you never know your luck
I am researching some of my own
so I can take a look !

Christina Report 2 Sep 2010 19:01

enjoy your Irish trip, Maggie,
there will be lots to see,
and if you meet my rellies,
why, then say "hello" from me !

I`d tell you what they look like,
and where they all live too,
but as I don`t know either
there`s not much I can do !

the one thing I CAN tell you,
and all my friends on here,
its about the expected Grt Gr Child
whose birth is getting near !

This sibling for Grt Gr Daughter
is due November twenty-eight,,
and now we know that it`s a BOY !!!
and just twelve weeks to wait !

So now I can start buying
not pink this time, but blue,
and all I want is him to be ok
and be healthy through and through !!

Hope everyone is back safely
from their summer hols
and looking forward to autumn too:(
This is the start of my long decline
When I get the 'start of the winter' blues

BUT I have a holiday soon myself
Going to a lovely Irish shore
That will lift my spirits
Who could ask for anything more ?!

Will take along the vitamin 'D'
and Evening Primrose oil
And have stroll along the beach
and touch base on Irish soil !

Aaah Maggie, but what memories !
they will never fade.
they wait there for you to conjure up
and not a penny paid !

I`m back now, as you can see !
I stayed ahead of the rain,
but I was pleased that I went there
to see them all again.

Gr daughter (17)
A level results all OK,
she now will go on to study some more
to take MORE exams one day !

Gr sons now all bigger than me,
fine boys they are, all three,
their schooling is also going well
they all enjoy school , you see,
(which I must confess I find quite strange
as it didn`t apply to me !!!)

Oh Chrispy, I am so jealous
of your trip to Northumberland
We have spent many a happy holiday there
with great walks upon the sand

It is an amazing coastline
With sea so clear and blue
Let me know where you are going
and I can swap notes with you !

Today I have strolled along the canal
watching narrow boats glide serene
Bringing back memories of past holidays
Some of the best that I have been

We would fill a boat with a dozen of us
family and friends galore
Navigate locks with the greatest skill
Then call at the village store
to fill up our larder with convenience foods
Never a minute to cook
Spend all the hours taking in the scene
or with my nose in a book

Alas, they are like my cycling days
All over and done with now...sob

Tina, have a great time,
Visiting family.
You'll be back in no time
Cycling on your Wii.

I'm going away on Monday,
But please don't pine for me.
We're going to Northumberland
To walk beside the sea!

Tina , have a really good trip
and take good care on the roads
Watch out for the 'greckels'
and the crossing family of toads!

Enjoy your time with the teenagers
they grow up so quickly
My heart is my mouth for results
given out come next Tuesday

I am sure grandaughter will
achieve the grades she wants to get
But till the day arrives
She's not getting the pressie yet !!

I saw the change of title
& thought .."hello, whats this "
so had to pop in to have a look
as I didn`t want to miss !

its true our numbers now are few
but I also look in daily,
so when I see a message
I try to answer, see !

We could do with other folk
to exchange our verse & prose,
they don`t know what they`re missing
`cos on here anything goes !!

Saturday morning I set off
to drive to the West Country,
but I`ll be back by Wednesday
and I`ll get back on my Wii !!

Chrispy, you are not alone
I look in here most days
Waiting for you all to rhyme
but sadly no-one stays

SO.. now I am on a recruitment drive
Such a shame to see this fold
We welcome all you rhymers
be you teenagers or old

We used to have a lot of fun
the world together we have travelled
Problems here, and problems there
together we have unravelled

I am going to change the title
welcoming rhymers to join us
But if they don't appear
well, I guess it is just us !

Popped in again today.
Where are you all?
Have you gone away?
Maybe Tina is cycling
On her Wii
No one is here
Only me!
Maybe I'll add a few lines
Drink myself silly
On Ron's gift of wines!
Oh I feel lonely,
Nolls has gone
And we hardly hear
From our Ron.
And do you remember
Dorothy G?
She sometimes sends
An e mail to me.
But I've read your rhymes
And i have to agree
With Maggie
For driving doesn't
Suit me.
Well, I like to drive
On my own
In the car,
On country roads
I can go far.
But motorways
Are a definite no,no.
OH drives on motorways
If we have to go.
Because he says
My driving
Is too slow!!!
