Oh Chrispy, I hope the weather behaved !
did you have a lovely day ?
the weather now is not so good
frost and snow some places, they say.

I`m not surprised that it`s turned cold,
& It`s all my fault, I`m afraid.....
on Thursday morning early
I`m driving to Somerset again !.

Whenever I decide to go,
to undertake that mammoth drive,
you can bet the weather will change...
- & what will it be when I arrive ?

I do know it will rain there Friday,
& floods I can do without !
driving the M4 & the M5 in rain
is miserable, theres no doubt !

But whatever the weather I hope you all
enjoy a lovely week-end,
Happy Easter to you all
may the sun shine on you, my friends !

Tina xx

Tomorrow my dad is coming with me
To our local village hall
Hot cross buns and coffee
And a bring and buy stall.

I hope the weather is better
For it's now pouring with rain
I hate this grey, wet weather
I want the sun back again!

Maggie, I hope you enjoy
Your local village fair.
Toffee apples and roundabouts!
How I wish I was there!!

Thank you Rose , you are quite right
Three peeps on GR with Hannah in their tree
Although a shortened version is in her book
It would be so lovely to see

But I can't really ask permission
To view these trees, no way
As I am not related to them
Not in in any way !

Oh Tina and Stella ,
you have lifted my mood
with the talk of spring in the air
I am now looking forward to Easter
with a visit to our local fair.

I will forgo the rides in the air
but may have an apple or two.
As long as they're dipped in toffee
and stick my teeth up like glue !

Spring is near,( if not quite here!! ),
I love those flowers which are yellow & blue !
golden daffodils in the wind do blow,
golden forsythia round my kitchen window,
primroses will be in the lane quite soon,
cellendines & bluebells soon in bloom,
Hyacinths sweetly smelling in the bed,
ah yes, Spring is very near, I said !!

I remember reading about Hannah's life
She really loved those moors.
Her life was hard, she toiled each day
But loved the great outdoors.

Now, I love to be outside,
Planned to be in my garden again.
But what did it do this afternoon
Rain and rain and rain!

Today I have been 'googling' for a friend
trying to to find Hannah Hawkswells' abode
as friend is on holiday soon in those parts.
A few years ago, 'twas just up the road

When we were camping up on the moors
we came upon her old farm
Quite unrecognisable now
With a notice to stop any harm

The field in front now a meadow
wild flowers do bloom there each year
With a duck board to walk through
'Hannahs Meadow', won't step there, no fear

This wonderful lady is still alive
at the grand age of eighty four
She has seen such changes occur
Who could ask for anything more?

Oh, isn't it lovely
what a bit of sunshine can do
I too have been pottering
in the garden,just like you
Even the shops have put out
all their summer gear
Although a little bit chilly
for t-shirts yet I fear.
My mood has been lifted
thinking of holidays and beyond

But Stella do be careful
don't go falling in the pond !

i havent got much gardening done
although there has been some sun
i am soft and have stayed in side
i like to be by the fireside
maybe tomorrow i will venture out
to pull the weeds that are about
i am good at growing weeds
not so good at raising seeds
my fingers are not very green
but in the garden i am sometimes seen
fishing in the pond!

Planted some daffodils
And tulips too.
And some muscari,
I love their deepest blue.

Bought them in pots
From a garden centre near
Filled shady spots in my garden
With some instant Spring cheer!

What a lovely day today.
The garden was bathed in sun
I enjoyed admiring my daffodils
But saw lots of jobs to be done!

There are still old leaves in corners
And flower tubs that are past their best
Lots of seeds waiting to be sown
No time for a rest!

hello all, been reading your news,
the highs & lows of your days,
I`m always glad to know you`re there,
but I`ve done nothing to amaze.

Mothers Day, was very nice,
I spent a pleasant afternoon,
at Gr daughters, with my daughter too,
Grt Gr daughter as well, & it passed too soon.

but earlier I paid a call,
flowers for Mum I`d bought,
her favourites , I put them in a vase,
made the grave look nice, I thought.

There were so many pretty flowers
being laid down there that day.
which cheered me as I know full well
we remember our Mum, come what may.

Good morning Stella, now don't do too much
Even tho' you have that 'green fingered' touch
Put your feet up and have some tea
and write a piece of poetry..lol

Chrispy, how sad for you and your mum
an awful position for anyone
So you let off steam anytime on here
We will all lend a friendly ear...

This weekend we celebrate St Patricks Day
(It's hard to do do in the week)
OH is so proud of his Irish roots
The Guiness is lined up as I 'speak' !

Hi there Stella,
We are still here
Writing our rhymes
Sharing a beer!!

Visited my mum today.
Gave her a Mothers day card
She doesn't know who I am.
This is very hard!

Couldn't visit on Mothers day.
The Home was closed they said.
All the old people
Were very sick in bed.

We had a late Mothers Day.
It may seem strange to you
But mum doesn't know what day it is
So what could I do?

Now I won't write any more lines
On this sad affair
Sometimes I just 'let off steam'
Knowing that you care!

Lovely people!
X

I promise it is worth it
when you leave the motorway
Few traffic lights or roundabouts
No 'artics' in the way !

A whole new world just opens
and I leave my cares behind
Scotland is a therapy
where I totally unwind

The weekend was eventful
Sons birthday and Mothers Day
So a double celebration
at daughters for the day

My kids live 50 miles apart
so how bizzare is this?
Their Mothers Day cards were identical !
I said they both had good taste
and gave them both a kiss..lol
