this thread appears to have come to a halt
afflicted with writers block, is it anyones' fault?
blank lines have cooled my Ardour,
my tutor says, "must try harder"

how easy to say write a poem,
but the words not so easy to find,
we`ve laughed & cried so many times,
it came naturally to write in rhymes,
we found it easy to say
what had happened in our day,
we just seemed to chat away
and if stumped for words we didn`t mind.!

But to write a poem on command ?
not as easy task, you see,
because, if you`re at all like me,
you need an incentive, somethihg to raise a cheer..,
like the birth of two great grand sons just this year !
like the fact there was a wedding which was great,
and the fact my only daughter has set a date
to marry a smashing man next year, late,
and the fact a grand daughter starts Uni in a few days,
now THATS when I find rhyming really pays !

Kookaburras laugh
Twice and again
before the rain
on the southern plain.

Fluffy blossoms white and pink
make you stop and really think
The smell of flowers gives you a lift
They really are a wonderful gift

When I'm alone in the early hours
I think of the kookaburras and the flowers.

Spring for you !
skies of blue !
for us Summer leaving soon.
leaves coming down,
wind & rain makes us frown
but it`s too soon for Winters` gloom.
Autumn is on the way
often our skies are grey,
but its still quite warm & bright.
in a month or two,
(the opposite of you!)
our days quickly become night.
until then we make the most of the sun,
we won`t let anything make us glum !

Oh, a little sadness tis so true
but here I am in touch with you!

Spring is on its way
the birds are flying to and fro
with grass and twigs to make their nests
where nestlings hope to grow.

the skies are blue, the frosts are gone
and birds are noisy all around
trees in flower along the prom
fresh green grass peeping through the ground.

Folk walk their dogs along the road
and greet the neighbours
with a warm 'hello'
I am happy that spring is here.

Thank you Annette, for your kind words,
a lovely day it was!
but I read your verse with interest,
knowing you`ll be sad because
although you`re pleased your son is ready,
and even though he`s grown,
I know you`ll feel an "emptiness"
once he`s out there on his own.
But with those feelings there`ll be joy
& pride & confidence in your `Sailor` boy !!
good luck to him & all he sails in !!!

A month has passed since I lastly wrote
and my winter trip is over.
In little pockets all over the garden
yellow heads of daffodil nod in the breeze.
The sky is blue, the season has turned
and spring is on the way.

My son is ready to walk his road
to the navy he will go
and train as a marine technician
so YOU may as well all know.
October is his starting date
and very excited is he;
the clothes are packed, the fitness achieved
and the swimming test is done.

Tina what a wedding!
A princess I am sure
to ride a horse drawn carriage
and even opt for more.
the fairy lights seem awesome
to light up the way
do hope there marriage is just as nice
till both their dying day.

Love from Annette

Moonbi ! Hello ! how are you today ?
I feared all contacts had gone away
I tried a few times, I had a quick look,
& decided my friends must be reading a book !!

The wedding was great, the weather sunny & fine!
(the days before & after had rained all the time !)
Grd Daughter was dressed in white,so so lovely to see,
& left church in a glass coach with two horses...ahhh me !

The reception went well, fine weather all day,
outside cricket was playing ,so English, I`d say!
all the ladies gathered as she threw her bouquet,
and NEXT Grand Daughter caught it ! (that made her day!)

They left at midnight, their path lit by night lights,
as they walked to their Limo, what a fairytale sight !
they left us all feeling up-lifted & bouyed,
So ended a wedding which everyone enjoyed.

Then, three weeks later, Grt Grd Son was Christened !
at the same little church, the early sun glistened,
he fell asleep during the service, (guess he was bored!)
and never woke up...in fact, little lad SNORED !!

The Vicar poured the water over his hair
little lad slept on ! then was laid in push-chair!
now he`s 8 months, is crawling across the ground,
and has caught Chicken Pox which is going around.

His sister ,now 31/2, starts nursery school soon,
her uniform is bought, She`ll go mornings till noon,
my Great Grand children, though, now add up to THREE !!
for ANOTHER grd daughter has had a son, you see !

she should have been a bridesmaid at our " Wedding Of The Year"
but that was the time her baby decided to appear !
two days before the great day, our Freddie was born,
by emergency C-Section early in the morn !

But all went well & all are fine,
the baby is growing all the time,
he`s 7 weeks now, where does the time go ?
(& I`ve been here ages, so for now, Cheerio !)

love from Tina xxx

I look at my babies
who have just been fed
and one has got rice
all round her head

also my little lady
usually so prim and neat
has managed to put rice
all in her feet

So into the wash
their bedding goes
as I pick all the rice
out of dainty toes

I tut and mutter
as I clean up the food
I said a bit more
but it's rather quite rude

I wonder why
I gave them a treat
adding chicken and rice
to their usual meat

I look for the other
her face to clean
Lo and behold
not to be seen

then I heard a yap
and thought Oh NO
yes into the wash
MY bedding to go.

So if anybody wants
2 lovable mutts
you will need
......
.....
......

Chicken, rice, washing machine, and the great ability for plenty of Tuts

Moonbi, nice to hear from you,
in the winter there I hear,
It`s Springtime here but very warm,
and very little rain I fear.

warnings soon be going out
conserve water they will plead,
for we need several days of rain
to get the amount we need.

but I hope it dosn`t rain in June....
on the 11th specially,
for thats the day my Grand daughter
is to be wed, you see !

I want the sun to shine on her,
that day & evermore!
I`d like her to be happy in love
now who could ask for more !!

Now this site seems deserted,
I look in now & again.
so I was pleased to see you here-
my looking not in vain !

in my abscence they have changed things,
photos too, no less !
I`d love to see everyones faces
wouldn`t you....? I take it as Yes !!!
