Oh, the memories came flooding back I recall cycling for miles The wind blowing through my hair My face full of permanent smiles
OH and I would pack the panniers and set off with rucksacks on our back Staying at B+B's on the way Never knowing when we'd come back
Alas, the 'rear' did suffer But we pedalled through the pain Now all a distant memory As I shall never cycle again :(
Enjoy Tina !

lol ! oh Maggie ! I could just picture that ! Pedalling gaily through country lanes praying you won`t get a `flat` !
I`ve had many bikes over the years, but the constant punctures almost brought me to tears !
now this new `bike`, (provided I set it up ok) will mean I need not worry and can use it any day !
and if (or when!) I`ve had enough I won`t need to cycle home, the kitchen is the furthest that I will need to roam !!

Well......It`s here & yes, I`ve set it up. that was the easy part ! getting the thing to actually work, well, honestly... where do I start !!
A booklet came with the bike, Oh good, said I, here we go ! well it could have been written in Japenese `cos it made no sense, you know !
Theres buttons here & `thingys` there- all manner of knobs on this bike, And does the book tell you what they do ?? does it `eck as like !
I went on line & found a Blog, kindly written by a nice lad, who ALSO had had problems & ,like me, it drove him mad !
But he persevered & sorted it & I followed what he done, now my bike will work (in "game-cube" mode) but I`ll have to ask my son,
because I can`t get the thing to work as a bike should, using handlebars, I`m riding it using buttons & knobs.... (sighs) not as easy as driving cars !!
Tina x (who has now ordered a soft gel seat cover from Amazon !!

Oh Tina I am sorry I can't help you here A cyber bike, well I am hopeless I fear
I have heard of these things, like 'golf' and the like and playing 'ten pin bowling'. Do they do a hike?
My advice to you is to get the real thing And go out in fresh air and let your heart sing
You can use your new gel seat to make an easier ride So no more sore bum and the world opens wide !
from an ex cyclist ...lol

Alas, Maggie, I don`t have a bike now, The last one bit the dust ! and I thought, well, it`s exercise, & get a bit fitter I must !
and I thought it would help both of us, but now I`m not sure at all, because it`s ok for me, I don`t hit my knees.......... but then, I`m not 6`3" tall ! (ha !)
Tina x
Oh Yes, you asked about a Hike? I don`t think they do that, but they do do one where you can jog to help you lose some fat !!

I hate to drive I find it a chore I would be happy not to drive anymore
BUT, today I took the bull by it's horns and drove to see my son He is only fifty miles away but I hated every one
An accident closed the carriageway and I sat for half an hour I put on the radio and imagined a beautiful flower (to take my mind off everything )
I did have a lovely day but so happy to be back home Does anyone else feel this way Or am I the only one ??

I don`t mind driving generally, It`s usually OK, & I`m driving down to Somerset a week on Saturday.
it`s over two hundred miles (and the same to come back home!) and I leave early in the morning to avoid all those folk who roam.!
I like to reach the M4/M5 junction before too many cars get there, as its busy going to the West Country and you have to be fully aware.
I can do it in about 3 1/2 hours, (including a stop for a break,) and get to my Sons` by breakfast, often before they`re awake !
I`m looking forward to seeing them, four teenage gr children to see, all of them taller than me now and as lovely as can be !! Tina x

Popped in again today. Where are you all? Have you gone away? Maybe Tina is cycling On her Wii No one is here Only me! Maybe I'll add a few lines Drink myself silly On Ron's gift of wines! Oh I feel lonely, Nolls has gone And we hardly hear From our Ron. And do you remember Dorothy G? She sometimes sends An e mail to me. But I've read your rhymes And i have to agree With Maggie For driving doesn't Suit me. Well, I like to drive On my own In the car, On country roads I can go far. But motorways Are a definite no,no. OH drives on motorways If we have to go. Because he says My driving Is too slow!!!

Chrispy, you are not alone I look in here most days Waiting for you all to rhyme but sadly no-one stays
SO.. now I am on a recruitment drive Such a shame to see this fold We welcome all you rhymers be you teenagers or old
We used to have a lot of fun the world together we have travelled Problems here, and problems there together we have unravelled
I am going to change the title welcoming rhymers to join us But if they don't appear well, I guess it is just us !

I saw the change of title & thought .."hello, whats this " so had to pop in to have a look as I didn`t want to miss !
its true our numbers now are few but I also look in daily, so when I see a message I try to answer, see !
We could do with other folk to exchange our verse & prose, they don`t know what they`re missing `cos on here anything goes !!
Saturday morning I set off to drive to the West Country, but I`ll be back by Wednesday and I`ll get back on my Wii !!

Oh Chrispy, I am so jealous of your trip to Northumberland We have spent many a happy holiday there with great walks upon the sand
It is an amazing coastline With sea so clear and blue Let me know where you are going and I can swap notes with you !
Today I have strolled along the canal watching narrow boats glide serene Bringing back memories of past holidays Some of the best that I have been
We would fill a boat with a dozen of us family and friends galore Navigate locks with the greatest skill Then call at the village store to fill up our larder with convenience foods Never a minute to cook Spend all the hours taking in the scene or with my nose in a book
Alas, they are like my cycling days All over and done with now...sob

Aaah Maggie, but what memories ! they will never fade. they wait there for you to conjure up and not a penny paid !
I`m back now, as you can see ! I stayed ahead of the rain, but I was pleased that I went there to see them all again.
Gr daughter (17) A level results all OK, she now will go on to study some more to take MORE exams one day !
Gr sons now all bigger than me, fine boys they are, all three, their schooling is also going well they all enjoy school , you see, (which I must confess I find quite strange as it didn`t apply to me !!!)
