I am pleased
Maggie and Stella
Were able to meet.
And wonder how you
Are all coping
In this heat?!

Where is everyone?
Are you sipping Pimms
In the sun?
It has been too hot
For me,
I'd love a day
By the sea.
The heat makes me
Feel worn out.
I can hardly get about.
My roses are drooping.
We've had no rain
I shall have to water
them again.

A friend of mine
Said today
'We are having visitors
To stay.'
Could I have
Visitors to stay?
The answer is
NO way, no way!
My spare room
Is filled with broken TVs
Outdated, outmoded
redundant PCs.
Old suitcases and pictures
Are piled on the floor,
It's almost impossible
To open the door.
In the shower room
Vacuum cleaners!
I counted four.
I don't think there
Is room for more.
We have
Tables and chairs
Mother in law threw out
I've got beyond
The urge to shout.
The time will come very soon
When we will run out of room
Something will have to give,
I might have to find somewhere
To live!

I'm back ....I'm here
with time for my friends !

Been busy tidying up
a few stray ends

Chrispy,this is what you should do
get a skip and fill it, do

Take pictures to the charity store
They'll take tables too and so much more

Then paint the room a nice shade of blue
There, a guest room, enough room for two.

I`m here, & sorry I`ve been so long,
meant to come back every day !!
but work & children & grandchildren too
(AND great grand daughter, I might say)
all crop up when you least expect
but, happily, they are all OK !

Now,
Chrispy ! have you done that room ?
Maggies quite right you know,
get a big skip & fill to the top.....
get rid of it in one big throw,
choose new colours & curtains too
before you know it, a room to show !

but we live in the same town
We just got chatting here on GR
and on a couple of Poetry forums

We have so much in common
and good friends we have become

Tina, what good news.
A new baby to come
It will be oh so lovely,
Be it a daughter
Or a son.

Now, I have been stripping
woodchip paper from my wall.
And I can really tell you
It sure was not a ball!!

The paint on top
was so thick
No matter how hard I tried.
I just could not be quick!

I did it all in stages,
A little bit over several days.
And now I am lying here.
In an exhausted haze!!!

Chrispy....I was hasty,
I read your thread too quick.....!!
I saw that you`d been stripping-
thought " she`ll end up in the nick!"

I thought "she`s working at a strip show...
lap dancing and the like"....
I had to read your thread again
and thought " What am I like !!!"

But well done on your efforts,
It is tiring work I know,
(but a sneaky thought inside me said
please invite us to the show !!)

Lolol Tina, I thought the same
then I read it all again

Now I see that Chrispy
is in a lot of pain

suffering from exhaustion
from stripping all day long

I think that she should take a break
and ask us all along

We could do a 'changing rooms'
and paint rooms in red and blue

Then end up drinking a glass of wine
Chink glasses and say 'here's to you'

Oh Tina, I had to laugh.
A strip show if you please!
No one would come to see my act
For I have such knobbly knees!!

And Maggie,I don't want my room in red
So you won't get an invite.
No painting parties or changing rooms
I want it light and bright.!


But first, the plaster is a sight
Cracks, lumps and signs of age.
We are going to have it plastered again.
That is hopefully the next stage.

Now, ladies, I am going
Away for a day or two
But do be re assured.
I will be thinking of you!

Well, here we all are
and Chrispy is plastered again !
And I have been trying to garden.
Then it started to rain

I started off in sunshine
nice and warm as I pottered in soil
Black clouds appeared on the horizon
with a promise that they would spoil

I planted out new saplings
Then the rain began to pour
So fixed myself a glass of wine
As Ron doesn't come anymore !

I played 'good samaritan' today
a man collapsed before my eyes
An ambulance was called by me
and boy did they have a surprise

A packet of four loo rolls
was placed beneath his head
It's all I could think of
I was afraid he may be dead

I put him into recovery
wanting to relieve him from his plight
and then I left the scene
I hope he is alright

latley i've been lazy
i cannot get inspired
think the weather is too warm
and i am feeling tired

perhaps some chocolate will raise me up
to where the bluebirds fly

my subs are up in August
but i think i will renew
just to keep my tree here
where my son can get a view

i am going to have a birthday
its a big one this time
we will have to have a celebrate

in my (feeble) efforts to get fit
I`ve set myself a task !!

I finally went to buy it,
On Tuesday it should be here.......
and if I set it up OK
I should be up & going in gear !

Have you guessed it yet ?
well, I`ll tell you if you like.......
in addition to my `Wii fit`
I have bought the `Wii Cyber Bike` !!!

Now I`ll be able to cycle
in front of the TV at home,
up & down hills & back again
pedalling all alone !

Now I have one reservation...
there is one thing I fear....
I recall from when I had a bike
It can play havoc with your rear !!
