I guess it's good that the results aren't worse than Atrial Fibrulation and at least now you know you won't keel over from the missed beat just as long as the pain can be borne!

How was the op david , i saw this being done on embaressing bodies, where the piles was burnt away with this new thingy. a lot of woman who are pregnant suffer from them too xx

About 35 years ago I was unlucky enough to get an anal fissure. Toilet movements were painful then the pain became chronic before I presented the complaint to my GP. All kinds of ointments didn't work and the pain became excruciating. Surgery was the ultimate cure.

hi liz will have a look a friend passes them to me when she has read them, i wouldnt be able to knit my hands and arms wouldn let me lol.

Thankgod we get to sleep on stuff, i thought id had enough of the pain last night , but managed a good sleep and fell better for it and pain not as bad xx

In this week's Take a Break there are some letters from people with cfs, ME and fm, and other problems, saying they have been encouraged to take up knitting or other crafts - some of them go to a group where they knit and chat and it helps them cope with pain, then they can continue to do it at home too.

Apparently it is recommended by some pain relief clinics etc.

that is how i felt jean but the degree of pain said otherwise and i have a very high pain threshold too,but saying that for nerve damage pain it isnt that good, it kinda takes the horrendous burning away to a sting but your not that aware, im very strict with my usage im only 42 and worry i will run out of options in a few yrs, sorry tht he suffers too jean xxx

hello mr pdoff, im sorry you are suffering like that , with any chest pain you should have called your doc, and advise you to do so, not that i do lol, really hope you get some sleep x

My OH was given diamorphine because of serious pain, but has luckily not felt the need to open the bottle. He doesnt want to go down that route before its necessary.

thanks julieanne,, they also say not to miss a dose lol, only one doc at our surgery will supply it she is the head and has left notes for other GPs, i do find im telling them there job sometimes, didnt ask for the ruddy illness, there is no cure so im hardley going to become addicted and only on a small amount as it isrant over lol xx

it wasnt really working, tho it only lifted mymood,
i felt crap just didnt care too much, lmao,

its like thtat where i work regarding the morphine,
doctors hate sending scripts over to our chemist before patient has completely run out, we say, yeh but by monday morning they got none, and you dont send script till monday afternoon,
oh yeh they say, then try sort it out,
or even ask the patient to go in jsut to say to doc they need it , then they get a script there and then, ( i could bang my head sometimes, i tell you, its lack of common sense with some of surgerys, )

oh dear suffering at moment i have a tiny little bit of morphine left which i would need in the morning whilst specky picks mine up, thing is if you ask before its ran out they tell you off and then when you need it you go without , fingers crossed i dont suffer to much xx

hi sarah glad you have a doctor you can chaat to it was the nurse of our practise who recomended mine, hope you reach some diagnosis soo, fm was the first thing that crossed my mind when you put your symptoms down xx
the extra amytriptilene is really helping me now with the burning arond my ribs now, i havent got long to wait now to see consultant xx

cos it does help to chat about it,

i was taking naproxen but it started to hurt my stomach,
even my boss said if i got that stop taking it immediately,
so that was another on list,
spose its all anti inflamatrys really with me,

i took duloxetine , and it was good , but the headaches at time were still horrendous, looking back now, im sure that was a lot to do with my blood pressure, and doctors wouldnt accept what my pain specialist was telling um, cos she told them to give me blood pressure medication bout three years ago,
instead i was messed about from one to other, from stays in hospital with severity of pain, in the end my doc the nice GP i always see did give me some , he was pleased last time i saw him it was normal reading,

I'm on duloxetine for the depression and anxiety after trying loads of others including one that I really thought was going to kill me. I'm also in the middle of a course of CBT which despite my initial doubts does actually seem to be helping my anxiety.
I think I've found out which of the doctors at our practice I need to see about my pains, a different one to the one I normally see but if it gets me taken seriously worth it.

I have every sympathy for those of you suffering with fibro, I have a friend with it on top of other problems and have seen what it does to her. Indeed she told me that how i suffer was how she started out. Such a pity that it is so often not taken seriously.

Yep liz totally agree with everything you have saidxx what people want is a docter believeing there pain instead of giving it the benefit of the doubt all the time.
Due to specky have a tear and ruptured disk and stenosis of the spine, when he first saw our doctor she examined him and by the tenderness and painfull places she new what was probably wrong, so she sent him for a mri which confirmed what she had thought, i know for a fact any other doctor would have played it down, so if your not happy with a consultation see another doctor, half the time they do just hope you will go away apart from the dedicated few, which my doctor said was, "if your in pain we need to get to the bottom of it, even if it means an explority, i think some people are depressed because they are in loads of pain but this is misconstuid by the docs, so i gree stick with the medication and give it time.

When i was given pregabalin and was told to creep up till the required amount of 300mg, i just started on the 3oo i couldnt walk or talk i felt as drunk as a lord lol so funny but norty lol xxx

Hi all, I just want to say hello to Star and to Sarah, don't let the doctor make your depression/anxiety the scapegoat for your pain. Are you on anything for the depression? The two things need to be treated seperately to some extent but some medication could do for both things, like taking an antidepressant to help the depression might also ease the tension, so helping with the pain in your neck and shoulders. I have a lot of tension often and can feel my neck and the back of my head tighten up like a tight band round my head.
Different people have different reactions to medication but you always need to give it a few weeks to really work. There are alternative homeopathic medications which help anxiety but you cannot take them with things from the doctor so do discuss with the doc and also with someone at a proper health food place or somewhere like H and B.

Puss, I too used to work two jobs when young, and then when I was a single Mum would work several jobs, even taking my son out with me to do jewellery parties till he started play school and had to be up early. When my o.h. calls me lazy, or says he has been at work for x amount of hours - his choice to do the overtime, he earns well without so much of it - I remind him that while he was still in school (toyboy) I was out to work and not driving to work either, had to cycle or walk or get two buses, and still managed to work several evenings a week on my feet in a Wimpy Bar or behind a nightclub bar till 2 am, then back to the office job in the day time , 9 -- 5.30 and Saturday mornings.
Hasn't been many years in my life that I wasn't working as well as caring for parents and son, and doing up houses etc as well as being on local Community committees etc

No wonder our bodies wear out lol

hello star lovely to see you too, funny you should say that about the amytriptilene, i was on 50 mg per night to help with the pain and sleep with the fibro and stenosis of the spine, when i was diagnosed with ms due to the different pain which was like being burnt littearly she has put me on 25 then another coming to 50 in the day time , i thought i would be knocked out but im not i feel better in myself and the burning has gone to just nettle stinging, i see consultant next week to discuss some tablets, but when speckys was increased he slept for 3 days practically , i admit i was really scared to take the amitripilene when i read the leaflet, i talked it over with my doc she said its only people that have heart conditions that need monitoring, have you tried lyrica that is also good hope you find something soon xx
