Hello everyone I have been busy with doctors, dentist appointments and all the Christmas things one has to do.
I just wanted to wish my friends on this thread a very Merry Christmas with your families and a safe, happy and healthy 2013. We are still here, can't rely on the Mayans for predictions thank goodness.
Lots of love and best wishes to you all, love Kim. xxx

Thank you for the good wishes, Barbara - and I wish you the same. Also, Marion, Kim, and all others who join us from time to time.
Let us know when you start watching again and I'll join you - just to tide me over until February. In the meantime, I wonder what Darryl and Liam are doing?

I'm doing dinner but its just for 5 of us this year so that's a doddle. I will cheat and have frozen roast potatoes so that's a help. We will see rest of the family at some point in the day.
We have Emergency Bikers/paramedics on in place of neighbours and H&A.

Adam isn't as nice as he seems to be - and his son, Jamie, is a frootloop. You don't have long to wait if you start up again in January - it's only little more than a couple of weeks away.
I'm still chomping at the bit, waiting for February to come around. Don't know why they took the old version off as well as the current one. There are 21 years between them. With both showing five times a week, I can't see that they would never catch up.
I experienced one Christmas in England. It didn't snow until early January but that was the first time I had seen snow. I was thrilled to be there, but disappointed when it didn't snow on Christmas Day. It was just cold! I could look up at the sun and feel no warmth from it. .. Can't do that here. I have since been to the snowfields here in NSW and once again, enjoyed it - for a weekend - but I could not live there. We have actually had rain on Christmas Day in some years, but never enough to stop any planned outdoor activities. I believe this year should be dry, according to the long-range forecasters. That means there will be outdoor activities - or, if it's hot - indoor acvtivities with air conditioning ON.
My cards have been sent and I've wrapped some of the presents. Only need to get a couple more and I'll be finished. That makes me sound good. Now, I'll admit that my daughter has done my shopping for me and even posted the cards, as I'm unable to get out now that I don't drive any more. We have had our family get together at my daughter's home for the last few years, whilst her children were small - and this year, it will be at my son's place. After all those years of catering previously, I really like just being a 'guest'. It's not hard to get used to, at all!!

It was sad, wasn't it? I hope it didn't upset some people too much.
I read where you have a short break, then come back again in January and finish the season in February. That's when the new season starts again here. I'm still suffering from withdrawal symptoms - no H&A!!
Cards now posted and children's presents bought. I hate wrapping them, but will force myself this afternoon. I'm going to give vouchers to the adults and they can buy what they like with them.

Yes Berona the quieter the better for me.
We will probably be at the friends until the night time then come home around 9 pm. Hubby will probably hit the Boxing Day sales. My brother is in Sydney and they have a big family get together with my sister-in-law's side of the family.
We normally catch up with them a few days after Christmas.

That's nice, Marion. I always think of Christmas as a time for family. It is one time when most people have time off work and are available to get together. However -having said that, I have four children, with four spouses and five grandchildren between them, so one day of everyone together is nice to see - but it also makes me tired and I appreciate the next day, when I can be alone!

Nothing different from usual for me. The family will be together at son's house this year. They have a pool, if anyone feels like using it, but they also have air conditioning too, so that's where I'll be.... indoors!
After that, they all go away and leave me. it's holiday season on this side of the world. Schools close for about six weeks - many factories close, and people take their annual leave whether to go away or just be at home with the family. There are plenty of things to do, particularly for those who live in the city.
Mine leave the city and go away to their caravans, which are on site on the Hawkesbury River at a couple of different caravan parks. They are all water-skiers and all have ski boats, so keep busy with skiing and fishing. I used to go up for the day to be with them, but these days, I am happy to stay at home. I'm quite happy with my own company. I am going to add a couple of shelves to my built-in wardrobe - so I need to re-arrange everything, throwing out and making room for newer purchases. I will need to spread out for this, so I take the opportunity of (hopefully) having no visitors, so that I can make a big mess as I reorganise.
Kim - sounds like you might be happy with a quiet Christmas too. I hope your health improves. Are you planning anything in particular after the BBQ?
What about others? Those of you over on the cold side of the world. What are your plans for the festive season?

My thoughts exactly Marion, we can have our dreams haha. Yes he'd see me as a mother figure and that's no good either.
Our weather is all over the place. Hot and then cool, dry and windy and then humid. I hope Christmas Day won't be overly warm. We are going to our friends for a cold lunch in the backyard or inside if it's raining. I'm not in the mood due to my lack of health. I just can't get motivated and the tree's not up yet. Something to do on the weekend.

I would love to.
One problem - I would look upon him as a lover and he would look upon me as a grandma!..... not exactly what I had in mind.

Marion I do think of myself as a silly old chook sometimes, but have not reached Colleen's level, lol.
I mute the news when anything political comes on as it just upsets me. It was lovely to see that the Royal couple are expecting.
Yes the shows are terrible with the occasional good documentary thrown in. I wish they would put a few good movies on.
Good old Darryl, but I would like to see him with some happiness in his life instead cleaning up after his brothers. Just some peaceful storylines for him and maybe a love interest, esp. if Charlie is meant to come back.
The loss of Rocco was very moving. I wasn't expecting that at all, although he'd been through a lot in his short life. :-(

He can come and rescue me any time!
And if Darryl can't make it - send Liam!
Oh to be 30 years younger! (or 40, or 50).
We haven't had much to look at all year, since the chanels went digital and opened up new chanels. They must be buying the cheapest shows and they are nothing but rubbish!
The news is the only thing worth looking at and that's full of politics and riots. Very depressing.
