Evening ladies, hope everyone is keeping well.

Sylvia hope you have a lovely holiday and the weather stays good for you.

Jill, sounds like you will have lots to spend your money on when you get to the Craft Barn. I am just looking to buy the large Cropadile, have the small one that is so useful, but want the larger reach, and a couple of the Martha Stewart round the card punches, have seen some lovely cards made with them.

Weather here has been lovely for the last couple of days, although they have forecast rain for the weekend.

Have a good weekend all of you.

Sylvia, lovely to hear that you are managing to get some quality sleep a night, makes a big difference. Sounds like you will have a lovely time on the boat I would definitely take some crafting bits with you sure you will have some quiet time when you can get some done. Hope the weather does warm up for you, it sure is cold here at the moment.

Have a lovely weekend everyone

Hallo all,
I hardly dare say this but I now have to have my legs massaged and bandaged up. My left leg is 5 cm bigger than when they last measured me for elastic stockings. I'm not sure yet whether I will have to have the nurse in every day or every few days but we'll see. This coming Monday we're going on the Red Cross boat for a week and when we come back they will start on my legs. I have just finished another cure for cystitis but I know it has not helped. The sleeping with a mask is getting better although I only sleep 4 hours a know. It is quality sleep though. This morning I managed 5 hours.
I think I will take some card equipment on the boat with me to do in the evenings (if there is time). When we are away my daughter's partner is coming in here and laying a tile floor for us in the kitchen. I'm glad I won't be here in the mess!
I wish the weather was warmer, but who knows it could have warmed up by Sunday.
Until we meet again. Sylvia xxx

Well what a difference a few days can make to the weather, it has been so chilly here today, this evening I needed to put my central heating back on but at least it is not raining. Typical with the kids being off school next week, the weather takes a change for the worse.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Hi Sylvia, sorry I confused you I don't wear a mask but I do use inhalers for my asthma. You seem to be doing very well with your cards at the moment, especially having started your Christmas cards, I am still trying to think of something different to do this year.

Heather the themes for the ATC swaps for the next two months are
June New Baby
July Favourite things unless others say they are joining in only send 4.

Weather here has been beautiful, lets hope it stays like it for a few days.

Hi all,
Well have yet another mask. I told the rep a little white lie today and that I had to try the smaller mask from my lung specialist. He has now given me the one which fits in my nostrils - this in small, medium and large. I have small nostrils and only a large negro/negress would fit the large one.
He has also left behind the mask which I have been wearing for the last couple of weeks.
I didn't know you had a mask too Jo.
I managed to do some card making yesterday and today and hope tomorrow to do some more. I must build up a stock again. I am getting on with my Xmas cards too.
I did get out to the shops today and got in a shop (bit like Woolworths) and found I had no purse wi th me. So had to scoot all the way back again. What a good job it was nice weather, albeit still a cold wind.
Have a nice evening.

Evening ladies, sorry have not been around for a while, have been so busy and also staying at daughters looking after her 3 little ones while she was in London. Took advantage of going there to do the Moon Walk marathon to spend a couple of days shopping!! Think she deserved the break, walking a marathon takes so long, next time she is going to run it!!

Sylvia sorry to hear that the mask has not improved your sleeping, you must feel so tired. Hope the smaller mask helps your asthma, I know when mine is playing up I feel exhausted.

I try and find a theme for my birthday girl cards and make them all similar but sometimes takes me ages to come up with the theme, I am always looking. Am always looking for a Christmas theme and cannot stamp to save my life, always make a mess of it.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Hi all,
Just a few words because I see that nobody has added for a few days.
I'm busy thinking of a design for a card for the next lot of birthday girls cards which I can make all the same. The brain doesn't always tick over when I want it to.
I am still only getting 4 hours sleep per night so that might make a difference. Tomorrow I see the representative about the mask I have to wear at night. I saw my lung doctor last week and he told me there is a much smaller mask on the market and this might be better for me as the one I have now has brought back my asthma again.
I have never fancied using the stamps myself but must admit there seem to be some beautiful ones around at the moment. I have drawers full of bits and bobs which I won't use up if I live to 150!!
Until the next time, Sylvia xxx

Hi all,
Here we are again from a dry but cold and windy Almere. Yesterday was Ascension Day so everybody was again free and there were some stalls set up outside the shops that were closed. My handwork shop had a stall and the lady who owns the shop said she wasn't staying outside long as the wind was too cold. I just bought a couple of sheets to cut up. I had to go out shopping because it was hospital day for me again today and I don't like shopping on Saturday or Sunday. My neighbour just phoned from Hungary where she has been for several weeks and asked me to get some shopping in for her. I've asked Johan to go as I want to bake an apple tart for her and some bread for myself.
I'll be pleased when we have a normal week again. We've had Easter, Remembrance Day, Day of Liberty, Ascension Day and then Whitsun coming up. Some shops are open and others not, so it's always confusing.
Have a nice weekend, Sylvia xxx

Afternoon ladies,

Sylvia, I've thought about christmas cards but not actually made any yet, I'd like to find a design that I can do for everyone this year, a simple one :)
I love the smell of fresh baked bread, I try to make 3/4 loaves a week, but just lately find I make more as everyone that visits wants one.

Must get on, lots of birthday cards to make & send.

Hope everyone is keeping well, the sun is shining today :)

Hallo all,
What a weather isn't it. Just as we think that winter is over we get snow and rain returning. Those poor people in Spain with all that snow. Their houses are not built for the extreme cold weather.
I went out to the market yesterday and bought some plants but it is too cold for my to do my tubs in the cold on the balcony. The stallholder on the market was shivering. She said she had tried to buy herself a scarf for the cold but couldn't buy one at this time of the year.
Anyway don't feel guilty about sitting near the central heating making more cards. Has anybody started making Xmas cards yet? If this cold weather remains I'll have my Xmas cards finished on time this year!
Tomorrow is Mothers Day here so will be kept busy. I've baked bread today as well as a batch of cakes and a Clafoutis (French custard tart). I was going to make a curry for tomorrow but my daughter's ex turned up with a bunch of flowers f or me. This made me stop and realise how old I was! Probably trying to do too much.

Do you have Mot hers Day too Jill?
Keep busy, Sylvia xxx

You too Jill, several of the cards I have had from you have had punched edges and I must say they do look good.

Jill in France

Jill in France Report 30 Apr 2010 21:41

Jo, they are the best punches ever and easy to use on card as long as its not too thick.
I have the three dots one, a flower fan one plus several deep edge punches, well worth the money .
I was lucky to also win a set on a craft forum :)

Hope everyone has a good weekend

Afternoon girls,

I saw a lot of demo's at the NEC for Martha Stewart punches Jojo, they look great don't they, a bit pricey for me though...... think they would be ok through thin card.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Have a great Bank Holiday weekend, speak soon

Turned cold here this afternoon too, heating went on again. Shan't be sorry to get to Tenerife where the temp is a little warmer.
No not used those punches Jo, or seen them even, they sound interesting. You could ask on the scrap book thread, somebody on there might have used them.

Evening ladies, it has turned so cold and wet here today need lots of jumpers!!. Have robins nesting in a strawberry pot on the patio, the little ones must be so wet and cold at the moment.

Not sure if I thanked you all for the wonderful birthday cards I received, some designs I will definitely be copying!!!!!!

Sylvia hope you are feeling a little better tomorrow. The tradition for the queens birthday sounds so nice, why don't we have anything like that I wonder.

Have any of you the Martha Stewart 'punch around the page' punches. I love the double border one and just wondered how easy it is to use also can you use it on card.

Hugs Joxx
