Have a lovely time Sylvia.

Liz has asked me to post the following message.

Hi all,

Just popping in to say a big "Thank You" to everyone for my beautiful cards. I was away in Kefalonia on my birthday (it was fab btw) and it was lovely to come home to such a creative and varied selection of cards.

Thanks again,
Liz xxx

Johan and I had our 3-monthly control for diabetes. The woman in charge was surprised that I had stopped taking 3 tablets a day and had cut it down to one. I did tell my own doctor - fortunately this has been recorded! She said why don't I try and cut out this last tablet altogether. Unlike Johan, I have light diabetes and it is possible I don't need medicine any more - one problem less.
The nasty bit is I have painful arthritis now and have spoken to the doctor about it and will resume some physiotherapy plus tablets.
Have been making some more cards inbetween the pain but am really behind with my card making at the moment. I do have some Xmas cards ready though. We had a shower of rain today but then the sun came out and it has remained dry.
Tomorrow we are going to the east of the Net herlands to visit Johan's sister so hope the weather will be fine.
goodbye for now, syl xxx

Margaret lovely to see you posting again, hope you are keeping OK

Sylvia, sounds like you and Johan will have a lovely time on the cruise, with lots of people there to help you!!

Wow Jill, what are Jacobs ladders, never heard of them as cards, only show jumps!!

Weather miserable today again, but at least it is not raining. Having a lazy day today as no grandchildren they went home just before lunchtime. Might make some cards - but probably wont today. Have to make a birthday cards for my 10 yr old granddaughter and have no idea what to do. She always looks for something more special than last yr and I have run out of ideas. Know what I am making for my 6yr old granddaughter, she is getting a 3d pop up castle and princess from the Rob Adam CD.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

Hello Margaret, we don't bore easily. Good to see you, do come back and chat sometime. Hope you are well despite all the goings on?

Jill, Cricut sounds a bit complicated for my brain!!!!
Hope you eventually get your crafting breaks to take off.

Good evening to you all.
With the Cricut you can get software that enables you to cut images and shapes from a PC but there will be lots to learn about it :)

Ann, classes still going very well but crafting breaks not taking off just yet but early days.We have been doing jacob ladders and paper folded accordion cards today, wanted to do something a little different.
Hope you all have a good weekend planned.

Hallo one and all. How nice to be back and feeling quite well. I had a bad week of artrose (I don't know whether that is English or only Dutch) and could hardly move arms and legs. Anyway it is fantastic to be able to do things again without pain.
I have been making cards for my neighbour again who always comes up with something special and must finish the last one tomorrow.
I have ordered some more bits and bobs for my Cuttlebug but delivery is so long I would have been better to have ordered it on the internet - where I bought the Cuttlebug itself. I thought I would give the local shop some trade but am now waiting for my pieces.
Congratulations Jill on your new machine. What difference is there between a Cricut and a Cuttlebug?
Johan has booked us up for another cruise. This time a week on the Rhine in Germany. We have done this several times before but it makes a change and a bit of a rest. I have to wear elastic stockings and they can put these on for me every day. I do it myself at home but want a holiday!
It is a boat which copes for light handicapped people,
Now girls carry on with your Xmas cards as time is creeping on, almost August now!

Jo, no I don't use CDs much either. Another thing I am lazy about is using stamps, have loads but it is an effort to get them out and the inks etc.

Jill sorry forgot to say well done on winning that, great and vry useful for you. Hope the classes are still doing well.

Congratulations Jill, how fantastic what a lovely piece of equipment to win.

Ann I am feeling very virtuous as well, while at my daughters I made all my cards for the Birthday Girls for the next year! Now just need to catch up on all my other cards I have to make, 3 grandchildren have birthdays in September but cannot decide what type of cards to make, they seem to want something more spectacular every year and I am running out of ideas. Have the new pop up card cd from Rob Adams, but nothing jumps out for the children, lots for men though. Really shouldn't buy cd's don't use them often enough.

Tinky pleased that you had a lovely birthday.

Feeling quite virtuous as I made 6 cards today. Suddenly realised that we are away all September and there are quite a few birthdays both on here and in the family in September October.

Good morning and Happy Birthday Tinky, hope my card arrived in time.

I had some great news on Sunday, I won a Cricut machine :)) I had entered some projects from an on line craft mag onto my blog and my name was drawn, I was over the moon:)) It will come in very handy with the craft workshops and holidays and will get a lot of use.

Made a couple of Christmas cards over the weekend, partly as projects for today's group, and also a couple of cards using doilies. They made pretty backgrounds and can be coloured with a variety of different paints, shimmers and inks.
Hope you all have a good week planned.

x Jill

Jo Jo Report 23 Jul 2010 11:59

Well what a day I had yesterday, got up in the morning and checked the hamsters as they are upstairs, both fine and fast asleep, plenty of water and food. Then let out the dogs, fed them and then fed the cat, all going well so far. Walked up to the pony field and the cat had very nicely left me two half eaten mice to clear away, job I hate. Then on to pony who is laying down and will not move even though I had his food, here’s me thinking he had died in the night, and panic began to set in. Walked up to him and up he jumped, could have killed him myself!! Mucked out the pony. Got back to the house and thought I would have a shower and wash my hair only to find the cat had been sick all over my bed!! So stripped off all the covers only to find the duvet was also wet through, went off to find the cat to see he had been sick on granddaughters bed as well! Was just about to strip this bed when I realised the hamster cage was open and the cat is sitting just below it now I really did panic all I could think of was telling granddaughter her hamster had been eaten by the cat, began to wonder if that was what had made him sick, but he was staring at the bottom of the wardrobe, so shut him out the room, then spent the rest of the day trying to get the hamster to come out from under the wardrobe, finally did it at 5pm, but at least he was safe and well. The doors on his cage now have pegs holding them shut. Wondering now what else can go wrong. Apart from this I am having a lovely time.
Ann, Jam and pies all made, must admit I really enjoy making jam.
Off now to watch the last of the crafting sale shows on C&C.

Jo, your daughter has the right idea. Not only looking after herhouse but making her jam and pies for her too. Wish you'd been my Mum!!!!

Try and make time for your crafting though.

Jill, our postage for cards is based on weight, size and depth now, so cannot do many layers of decoupage and only use 1mm pads of fine layer of pinflair glue other wise they go into the large letter category.

Part way through my house sitting for daughter, was a little apprehensive since she has moved house, as this one is almost in the middle of nowhere with only a farm close then the rest of the houses are quite a way away. Have come to look after all her animals and water the greenhouse and her vegetable plots. She has lots of rain water barrels all over the place that the previous owners put in, but with all the dry weather they are beginning to run low, still they have forecast rain for later so will only have the greenhouse to water. Seems very strange being here on my own, but have brought some crafting to do so am keeping myself busy. Took the dogs for a walk at 7am this morning and now I am off now to pick raspberries and strawberries as she wants it making into jam and the rhubarb making into pies to go in the freezer, so will be busy for the rest of the day.

Issy I hope my ATC’s arrived safely, sorry that they were late. Can you let me know what the next lot of topics are.

Sylvia, will hopefully get back to you later toady.

Hope you are all keeping well

Good morning and hope everyone is keeping well and a good weekend planned.
I spent last week on the Isle of Man and after complaining about it being 40 degrees plus over here, it was wet, windy and chilly on the Island !!
Going to spend a day crafting as need to get some projects sorted for this weeks workshops, will put a good DVD on and shut myself away in the craft room.
Thinking about making an effort and doing a few Christmas cards so not to have a manic rush at end of year plus one of my groups want to do a few so will have a go at something different that still comes under our 20gram 70 cents stamp weight to the UK.
xx Jill
